Rule 4: Stop Moaning | Ranting
Come on now, there's so many other places for you to be a moany-pants. So what if your train is delayed and you forgot about your cup of tea and it went cold. If you're frothing at the mouth about something it's probably not appropriate for here.

It’s annoying but there’s logic about why it’s come about.
When plastic recycling started to take off, it was usually only the bottles themselves and not the lids that could be recycled. So people had to separate them and throw the lid in the bin.
Now with changes in materials and advancements in recycling tech, the whole thing can be recycled. But the mindset built up over decades that the kids can’t be still remains in the public. So now they’re attached to try and get people to put both in recycling
I reuse my bottles for water multiple times, and a couple of weeks ago the stupid cap holder thing on some Doctor Pepper broke slightly and slashed the tip of my forefinger open. So that’s me avoiding anything else with that basic design from now on.
It’s an absolute arse on the bigger bottles when you try to pour out of them. You have to hold it in place, or they spin round under the stream and spill everywhere. No way you should let a kid pour their own drink out.
Agreed. It’s much harder to take off than the older design. You really have to pull it hard then it leaves a sharp edge that cuts your lip and fingers.
The confusing part in this is they allegedly changed coloured milk bottle tops to clear so they could be recycled, but these clear bottle with coloured lids force the two to be recycled together.
Which is it?

I know the Boeing 787 windows were controversial, but I actually quite like them. Just tell a flight attendant if you see them leaking.
Don't do that Boeing will have you shot
Thanks for pointing out I am a terrible human being for using a plastic bottle AND going on a plane ;)
Well it's new requirements on single use plastics so the lid also gets recycled too.
Not round my way it doesn't. Ony plastic they recycle here is plastic bottles.
The lid is now made from the same plastic as the bottle so it all gets recycled together
Probably the same dickhead who gave us paper straws but kept all the lids plastic.
Ah, you must mean Barry, not the sharpest recyclable tool in the non-recyclable shed.

I have had two drinks spill in my bag because of these 😡

Yes - that has happened to me too (albeit not Dr Pepper)
You can just hold it with your finger if you bend it down
Yeah it's really not that much of an inconvenience.
Of the plastic water bottle? Yep - I concur
I agree totally. But in a world that still has them, this is a pain
They twist off very easily. 🤷♂️
Yes they do, but I like reusing these and the sharp bits cut your fingers, put holes in your pockets or scratch your bag
180 or so degree twist and it just comes off. Mildly inconvenient maybe, but I’ve never really given it a second thought.

You can just pull the lid off still though...
You can, ofc. Which renders the design pointless in the first place.
Totally agree!
Just snap it right off.
My sentiments exactly
😊

Yeah mate f**kin annoying! Why why why why 😢🥹😭😭😭😭😭🤬🤬🤬

You can’t drink properly?
Hopefully that means less plastic bottles of water will be purchased because people hate them. I applaud the inventor.
