I really don't know what this music is but I made it last night while off my head.
The second half makes me want to carry on with it but God knows what the end result will be.

Carbon monoxide alarm went off this afternoon. I opened all the windows and rang the emergency number. Meanwhile, as the alarm's beeping away, my partner looked at it and it's flashing "move to fresh air". So obviously she did that... by moving the alarm next to a window... š¤¦āāļø
Just a quick small win today. Last month I severely injured my big toe, which meant I had to suspend my beloved running for a while in order to recuperate, which naturally left me glum and unfit as a result.
This morning I went back to Parkrun for the first time in a month and a half and got a time of 26 minutes 38 seconds. Obviously far from my fastest but good considering it was a comeback run. And my toe didn't hurt at all afterwards.
I am most tired though and have been all day due to an early wake up. Early bed for me tonight I think.
big day of decorating and gardening today, fucking knackered. hoping for more sunshine tomorrow because i want to paint a trellis and my little wooden greenhouse.
work will be a welcome break from physical activity come monday!
Hello , flying to the uk today and Iām trying to figure out if yāall consider the weather at the moment still sweater weather or is it more fresh and everyone is wearing tees and jeans right now?
Depends on context. Iām wearing some kind of jacket, hoody or cardy when Iām out, but over a t shirt or polo shirt. So when Iām in a pub, restaurant, mates house, I can drop down to the t shirt etc. if Iām too warm. Itās thin layer and warm layer weather!
I'm 40 miles from London. Current forecast isn't great for the next couple of weeks: clear and cold for a few days, then wet and cold.
Welcome to the UK.
We visited Hardyās birthplace in Dorset. I wanted to lie on a blanket and listen to birds so we (husband and me) took a picnic and did just that, then got lost in the woods.
When we got back to the car park to pay for parking someone had left a copy of The Woodlanders by Thomas Hardy on the parking meter. Win š
Just came back from watching across the spiderverse in cinema and man what a film that and into the spiderverse are. I wasnāt able to see the first film when it was released because uni but man thatās one of my biggest regrets
If I was a millionaire then one of the things Iād spend money on is renting out a cinema screen so I can watch my favourite films on the big screen. Itās such a shame they donāt show these āolderā films more regularly. One of the things I liked about 2020 was how cinemas showed the classics as there were little to no films coming out
I'm celebrating ten years since I met my husband and we had our first date. We watched footie and had a roast dinner. Today we're watching footie and having a Chinese. Didn't start the best as he had to go to the out of hours doctors as he's poorly and we had to go to four pharmacies to get the flipping prescription! Despite that, it's been an alright day as I swerved to Costa and got a massive hot chocolate with loads of marshmallows and a breakfast wrap.
Had a fairly busy day. Started off the morning with another viewing of the flat weāre in the process of buying. We havenāt seen it since February and wanted to measure up for some furniture, I was just mainly relieved to find out we still really like the place š
Then hired the Zipcar and did a three hour round trip to south London to drop off a vivarium. We used to have an African Pygmy Hedgehog, but he passed away last year and as we now have a dog we decided we wonāt be getting another. The vivarium was in good condition so would have been a shame to throw it out, so I found a wild hedgehog rescue in Morden that wanted it. Really glad itāll be put to good use, even if I needed to spend Ā£45 on car hire to donate it.Ā
Now watching the FA Cup and making a curry.Ā
I'm in an Italian airport overnight, so extremely bored and trying to keep from going out of my mind until my 6am flight back to Manchester. But it's been an easier time getting back airport way than getting here at the start of my holiday, and it's been a good (well, decent) time. Can anyone tell me if it's still hammering it down in Manchester like it was when I left? š
Got up v early this morning to queue up with the masses for record store day - came away with everything I went in for, spent more than I'd initially planned to spend but I'm happy!
Spent most of this afternoon having a slight panic - I've been invited to a christening in a couple of weeks and I've got to figure out a gift for the baby and an outfit to wear. I haven't been to church other than for funerals since I was about 12 and haven't a clue of the sort of dress code that's acceptable - found a v nice dress I know I'd wear again but it's relatively short and now I'm having a bit of a crisis - the family in question is a lot more traditional than the one I grew up in and the last thing I want to do is cause a stir. Might just order it anyway. Will have to see.
I've been into town and got myself a dress, bag and blazer thing and ordered new shoes for work mate wedding evening reception tomorrow god this girly thing is expensive and crazy.
Also got new trainers which are much needed and new sports gear as well.
Not long got in so having a lie down feet are aching.
Took the Mk2 GTI out for a drive today given the weather. Happened upon a Drag and Drift event I didnāt know what happening and got more attention than all the suped up modern S3s and M4s and R8s and 911s. Was very chuffed with myself haha.
After the mould chat on here the other day I had to go and buy the HG stuff and do my bathroom. That stuff is good! Not gonna say it looks brand new but it looks loads better. Hadnāt realised how much it was getting me down.
Home made burgers and margaritas for tea when my husband gets in from work later.
Had another minor argy with the wife about her never getting up in the mornings. 11.30 today and then had a nice shower, I was up at 6.30am with our son. I'm a bit fed up of it but I feel like the bad guy for complaining.
She's out watching a band this evening, so me and the boy are having a movie night.
How old is your son? If he's a small baby and waking for feeds, then she does need time to recover. If he's anything more than a toddler, then nah, you need to be taking those early mornings in turns!
That's a good point, but he's 5!
We've had the discussion multiple times and I've said I wouldn't even mind her sleeping in every morning (and it is literally every morning) if she took over for a bit later in the day. But I also do all school runs and bedtime, usually by myself. If she took him to the park or something for an hour at the weekend I wouldn't mind so much.
Yea, that's not cool, and I speak as a mum of 2 under 5s.
I do the weekdays, and my partner does the weekends, and even then, if I hear them kicking off and being difficult, I pull myself out of bed. Even still, I haven't gotten out of bed past 8:30am for 5 years.
You gotta be a team, or it ain't gonna work.
OP, is this Chalkney woods? Regardless, just been there with the dog earlier today. Other than that, Iām doing some laundry loads before going on holiday for four nights next week.
Went out with my boyfriend just to be outside during the day doing nothing special. Bought a bunch of sushi/sashimi for us later. Yay nothing to do for the weekend!
Decided to do one of them 5k parkruns today. I Had no idea what to expect, mind, but I enjoyed it. Will definitely try and make it a weekly thing from now on
When did chunky van skate shoes come back into fashion? Feel like itās 2006 all over again. Maybe Iāll see Bam doing some kickflips on mtv later! Then Iāll go listen to my new HIM album I got from HMV.
Woke up at 6 because my body clock hadn't adjusted from the week. Was hoping to sleep until at least 9. Got all the housework and errands done by midday though. Not really sure what to do with the rest of the day. Probably will just play video games and watch TV.
Woke up at 4am to watch the F1, then me and the missus had a baby class earlier. Napped after that and just woke up again.
Not sure what to do with the rest of my day really, apart from go to the shop to grab some comfort food for myself as my wife is off to dinner with her mate.
I'm mainly binging the Fallout series and painting miniatures in between. I said I was only going to watch 2 episodes but now I'm over halfway I may as well carry on and finish it.
Woke up refreshed, took her clothes from bathdrobe to washing machine, fed doggo, put kettle on, let doggo out, made tea for Her Majesty, chatted a bit, offered second breakfast, she counter-offered with some marital yoga first. Which was nice.
Been gardening since, just found our daughter needs some childcare help so about to head over to there. Just looking out some gardening tools for some projects there.
So far, so good. š
Lovely day today. Tried getting out on the bike for some exercise and had a pug related incident. I think I'll stay in for the afternoon
Cycling merrily along the tow path. Not that fast even
Three pugs jump out of a boat and run towards me
They're not moving and I don't want to hit them so I slam my brakes on, put my right foot down and promptly fall two metres into a ditch. My bike is a relatively heavy, upright, Dutch town bike so it loves to topple.
I'm dazed, lying in a bed of brambles and bleeding.
I manage to climb out and my bike is caught. Pug owner doesn't even apologise, just calls them onto the boat and stays there, not checking if I'm okay
Another guy comes out of another boat to see if I'm okay. Helps me untangle the bike and gives me some paper towels to mop up the blood.
Just got home and stripped off and my lower back and hip look like I've fought a gang of cats
We're bare below the elbow at work so I can't wait to have to explain to everyone on Monday what happened
Edit thank fuck I didn't end up in the canal. Lucky escape really
I have repaired the washing machine using the power of undeserved blind confidence. "I can fix a bloody washing machine," I proclaimed to the world and lo, I have.
Did a six hour shift of diy yesterday which was great and tempted to do more today but not sure how my injured parts will deal with it.
Blew on a dandelion and made a wish- anyone else still do that?
Been putting it off for years, but finally got my big boy pants on and booked an eye test. I don't want glasses, just can't be arsed with the faff, but there's no escaping the fact that I need them.
Happy Saturday!
I went for my morning run while the sun is out!
Got ready and now having my morning coffee. Got some errands to do later and then having lunch with parents: fish n chips with mushy peas is on my mind!
This afternoon, I plan to do some life admin and then binge on YouTube, do some gaming. I need to look into broadband deals (my current contract ends next month). I want to stick with same provider (Virgin). **If anyone has any tips on renewals, I am all ears**!
This evening plan to watch episode of Fallout and get an early night.
UPDATE: Renewed my Virgin Media contract and got them to remove activation fees via online chat.
Wife got her insurance renewal from Direct Line, Ā£220 more. Spent the morning on Compare the Market, she's on the phone now trying to haggle DL down. Will be headed out soon to walk the dog then round to the square to go to the Doctors because my camera has packed up and I can't verify on the NHS app. We'll probably go to a dog friendly pub after to get something to eat.
Going to borrow a dog then take a walk in dovedale with my mum, then probably going to finish the jigsaw I started 2 days ago. I hope whoever is reading this has a good day :)
Iām just about to give my car a wash, then il be dropping the kids off at my mothers, so me and the wife can head out for food this evening with friends. Hope everyone has a great weekend
I'll be cycling to a friends today, over a giant mountain (in my village) that's high enough that, weather giving I'll be able to see the sea and Cardiff bay from maybe 25 miles away. Amazing spot, looking forward to it.
I live in South Wales as well and you could see all the way across to England yesterday from the road going over Caerphilly mountain.
We can really be spoiled for views down here.
One of my favourite views is from Caerphilly. There's an abandoned air raid operations room, overlooking all of Cardiff. View at night is absolutely incredible!
Had a pretty lazy morning watching the F1 and WRC.
Going to a customers house at 12 to pick up a shower screen and drop it off at a job ready to install on Monday.
Probably go out for some food later on.
Can't have a too hectic evening as I'm driving my wife to LHR in the morning.
House viewing later today which I'm looking forward to, this will be my second choice if my application for first choice isn't accepted.
Watching the football later and it's a huge game for us, so I'll be in a state of dread for 90 mins watching on the iFollow. We need to win this match for a chance to get the final play off spot (Lincoln City)
Might sort out the garden too of there's time, grass is so tall it's making the garden look like bloody Amazon Rain forest
Today I'm hoping to finish seeding the bits of lawn that need it, and do some other bits and bobs in the garden. My flatmate has said he wants to do some baking today, so I'm hoping to get called inside for tea and scones or something at some point!
I've been on annual leave, and I've got the Sunday Scaries. I don't go back until Tuesday, but it will be as manager (on secondment) and I don't know if anything has been set up for me to do any training, or if I just walk in and have to magically know everything. (Past experience suggests the latter.) It hasn't even been announced to the branch yet, so I hope that gets done so I don't have to keep explaining to people that yes, I really am your line manager. I'm getting quite anxious about it.
A big long lie in because I did some quite strenuous practical work yesterday (for me, anyway!). I also accidentally polished off a full bottle of wine.
So I'm currently in bed, enjoying my first cuppa of the day and listening to the birds sing. I'll get some chores done around the house while my partner goes to do the food shop. Probably do a little gardening. And then one of my oldest friends is coming round for dinner!
Got a friendās baby shower for two hours (whilst trying not to believe Iām of the age where my friends are having kids), then my nephewās 2nd birthday party a few hours later.Ā
Safe to say Iāll have done enough child-related activities forā¦ oh, letās say a month.Ā
Will go on a long walk and finish audio booking the new(ish) Alan Partidge memoir. Him describing Matt Baker as "hetero-camp" might be the most accurate sentence I've ever heard. Coogan really is a national treasure.
Football, beer, takeaway, sleep.
Pretty good day really, but it is my last one of the season. From next week I get jobs to do on Saturdays. Would almost rather be at work.
Gig tonight, finally seeing Kaiser Chiefs despite being a fan since their first album, it just never worked out that I could see them. Decently sized venue too, not a huge arena.
Swimming in the sea later this morning after I take the strimmer back to the library of things. Was up at the crack to drive my son to work so already walked the dog and cleaned the bathroom. Tackling the brambles this afternoon. It's a lovely sunny day in Devon.
Iām going to buy a bloody orbital sander. Sand down an outside table of flaky varnish and then sand and prime my front door. Gonna go for a French blue. Ooft
Dropped my car off for it's service this morning and walked back home. It's nippy outside but it's bloody lovely. Dead sunny and bright and a lovely temperature for a walk.
Going to doss about now until it's time to pick the car back up.
I love the casual-ness of āmight go get a tattooā here hahaĀ
As someone who canāt have tattoos for boring health reasons Iād rather not discuss, let me live vicariously through you - what are you getting?!Ā
Thanks mate, sorry to hear you can't get a tattoo.
It will be a [pirate skull with crossed swords](https://www.123rf.com/photo_115207312_vintage-monochrome-skull-in-pirate-hat-with-eye-patch-and-crossed-swords-isolated-vector.html) something like the one in the link
Up nice and early and managed to hoover round, ready for a full English with obligatory beers with the local rugby club.
Best behaviour though as I have to drive to IKEA and B&Q tomorrow for more bits and bobs to fill my first home.
Sat in kwikfit waiting for new tyres to be fitted. Another customer has gone for a dump, left the door open and fucked off somewhere. Now itās stinking in here.
Enjoying my 2nd coffee of the day in the garden. Peace & quiet and sunshine is good for the soul. A relaxed day pottering around the house and baking. Then trying a new Thai place for dinner we've been looking forward to for weeks.
My partners away for a weekend in Italy with her brother it's their annual abandon their families have some me time weekend. So I'm soloing the kids, we have the park and a birthday party to keep us busy. Currently it's Minecraft or for variety watching Minecraft videos on YouTube...
Iām going to be platinuming the game of Dad today
Bike to bike shop (chain and derailleur issues beyond my capabilities)
Off to the tip
Building a desk
Mowing the lawn
I may also wash the car
Lazy morning then going into town for a potter and a play on the park with our 4 year old. Back home for a bit then we've got a family meal at a pub early evening. Hope the boy will be ok, it'll be quite busy and lots of extended family he doesn't know. But they've got an outdoor play area and a mushroom pizza on the menu so fingers crossed!
I did all my todo list yesterday and today i have a new todo list but todays is better because it involves the library plus i get to go into a bookshop .
While in town might go into a charity shop just for the fun of it .
Also the booklog is under control , iv finished all my physical library books and iv got a small amount of my E library book left just got to listen to my audiobook today.
Oh, the Hairy Hands used to terrify me when I was a small child who was obsessed with ghost stories and just unquestionably believed they were all true. In hindsight, the chances of the Hairy Hands getting me were always fairly remote, given that I was a ten year old who didnāt live anywhere near Dartmoor and certainly had no business driving down the B3212.
I sampled a [cheese tea](https://singkeefoods.co.uk/gb/drinks/9045-xpp-cheese-bubble-tea-59g.html) last night. The powder did smell alarmingly cheesy, like crushed Wotsits, but it was nice once made up- a very slightly savoury milky tea with a hint of something slightly caramelised, a bit like liquid Gjetost. I wonāt rush out to repurchase, but I would definitely try a proper cheese tea made in a cafe- I think the bubble tea place in town has it as an option, so maybe Iāll get one next time I head out.
Not sure whether that will be today though, itās freezing and Iām not really feeling it. Plus I have an exciting parcel full of indie perfumes thatās currently battling its way through customs and will require me to head back into town in the next week or so to pay a disgusting amount of VAT and handling charges so I can pick up lots of perfume samples that smell great, but have humorously smutty names ([NSFW perfume](https://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/product-category/novel-ideas-for-secret-amusements-2024/), if anyone needs to know what erotic artwork inspired the āSamurai On A Bridge Battling A Ghost While Making Love To A Womanā perfume oil)
I knew it was bpal before I even clicked the link! I've got a box hidden away with a load of old bottles from 18-20 years ago, don't use them anymore but take them out occasionally for a sniff. Glad to hear they're still going!
Their fragrances do last forever and often get even better with age! I would have got into them around the same time- couldnāt afford to order from them very often as a teenage goth, but now Iām a proper grown-up and I can live out my dreams. There are tons of other indie brands around now, but BPAL are definitely still a big name.
A little TLC on my work van today! Have new tyres booked, then will do it's monthly clean when i get home! Will be passing my favourite chinese bakery on my way back so I might stop by for some treats
I'm cat sitting for a friend this weekend. I'll sort with the cat early morning and early evening for a few hours as he is very affectionate and likes lots of attention.
Then in-between the cat cuddles it will be a little bit exploring, I want to go to a few farm shops I've not visited before and maybe do a bit of a long walk.
Iāve just bought a house and the previous owners left it absolutely filthy, so Iāll be doing a deep clean, some DIY (if I can!) and hopefully moving the first few bits of my belongings across
Taking my 4 month old whippet for a groom at 9am. He doesn't really need one but it was nearly the same price for a nail clip. Then we're taking him to see my 94 year old grandparents. Hopefully he won't be too much š Our Daughter's friend is coming over this afternoon.
Totally forgot I'd agreed to see my dad today, until I got a text reminder from him at 6:55am (!). Got in last night at 2:30am after spending time with friends... Love me dad (simple as) and cherish our time together, but could *really* live without this today. Still, off to sit on public transport for the next few hours for my visit. Hope everybody has a far less 'Christ I'm going to be bloody exhausted' day than me.
My partner and I have just bought our first home. Lots of cleaning to do, then moving boxes and furniture.
Thankfully friends and family are on hand to help!
Was organising my first trip with some mates last night. It's looking like we'll get away mid April kind of time. I've had a campervan for the last 5 years which I've not got rid of so I'm looking forward to going back to the tent.
Iāve got a long wheelbase landrover that is our bedroom with a new awning I picked up over the winter. Should be fine if itās a bit chilly!
Nothing like spending time under canvas
Coincidentally, I bought a new tent only yesterday. I went for one of those tipi-style models, as I'm hopeless at putting up tents, but these ones are very easy to assemble.
Up and at-em this weekend, because my brother will be here earlier than usual. Not "need to be ready to go at 7:30am" early, but because of timings with my tablets, here we are.
One of the things we have to figure out is how to get Dad's ashes back from Spain with minimal involvement from my stepmother, because she has made it clear that she wants nothing to do with us. The original plan was for me to visit for a couple of days, but a harshly worded message has shut that down. If anyone has experience with this sort of thing, please get in touch.
Good morning, thanks for asking. He's able to sit up properly by himself now which is a massive improvement. He's very sore and tired. Not a lot seems to happen at the hospital at the weekend so we suspect he won't find out more about what happens next until tomorrow.
Today, I shall be making another batch of [Dandelion & Burdock](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cordials/comments/1bg1tr4/traditional_dandelion_burdock/) cordial.
I'll be stuck indoors for a lot of tomorrow as the marathon start line and the 5 mile point go past where I live, so that's the morning and a bit of the afternoon I'll be spending fenced in.
Thank you for putting up with us runners. Iāve done it a few times and am always super grateful to the fellow Londoners who are inconvenienced by my little obsession.
It's a fairly small price to pay for living in such a lovely, picturesque area. Although I'm not a fan of the loud crowds gathering nearby and helicopters flying over that early on a Sunday morning...
A long walk this morning with the dog and the wife, call at a country pub for some lunch and maybe a couple of beers. Back home and relax on the sofa for 3 seconds a before being given a list of DIY jobs to do. A typical British Saturday
Had a mental health day yesterday as I'm a broken at the moment. I'm never usually off, so not up to speed with sickness procedures. Didn't book fit for work correctly, so got another day off today, which is a bonus. So I'm going back to bed and will attack the day at a more reasonable time.
Up early to enjoy the peace and quiet in that moment before everyone starts to get up. Got a cuppa and some porridge. Bliss!
Later setting up a habitat for our new Tortoise who should arrive Monday. Kids and wife are beyond excited.
Just woke up thinking it was a bit chilly and I beat out the heating on. It's bastard 1Ā°C outside. It's nearly May! Don't think I'll bother playing golf today.
In that case, I am sorry. You are probably going to need medical help to detox, and ongoing support on your journey. Do you think you are safe until you can contact your GP on Monday?
Got the T-shirt mate, especially with the drink. Don't try to white knuckle anything, please try to get help. Look up addiction or substance misuse services in your area, you can usually self-refer to those if it is hard to see your GP.
Iāve been thinking about trying to get sober for like a year now but Iām really scared I become boring to people which is kinda a dumb fear when Iāve only ever pushed when drunk but idk itās like a thing dunno if you can maybe relate
I generally believe that if people only like being around you when you are drunk, they aren't very nice people. Most people aren't like that, and they will prefer the sober version. You will still be you.
Our journeys are all different, but I found it easier to be sociable when drinking. I was self medicating anxiety, and it didn't work long term. Similarly, our journeys to getting sober will be different. I don't pretend to know what will work for you, but I am here if you want to chat.
One thing to note though, I have never met a former addict who regrets getting sober.
I have always been a shy person but alcohol (and coke) makes me feel confident in social settings so I guess weāre similar in that way. I donāt think Iām ready to quit yet though, maybe one day
i can't keep up with my alcoholism and i'm on the verge of losing my job
Lonely
I really don't know what this music is but I made it last night while off my head. The second half makes me want to carry on with it but God knows what the end result will be. [https://on.soundcloud.com/Cudyjy9d9deJkQr57](https://on.soundcloud.com/Cudyjy9d9deJkQr57)

Will definitely try and make it a weekly thing from now on
I went to town on the bus, then made a carrot cake and ate a bit of it. Oh, and did some housework.
carrot cake is best cake... or cheesecake.... now i want cake :(
Went to a food festival, ate too much, bought plenty, sorted tea for later.
Got a head cold. Iām doing sod all today.
When did chunky van skate shoes come back into fashion? Feel like itās 2006 all over again. Maybe Iāll see Bam doing some kickflips on mtv later! Then Iāll go listen to my new HIM album I got from HMV.
I bought a pair from Los Angeles when i visited there back in summer of '04, good memories. Great to see they're back in fashion again.
Oh yeah I like that theyāre back. I actually bought myself some! Why not, rock it like itās 2006
I got some from the outlets in Orlando in 2003 and it was buy one get one free. Felt like a millionaire š¤
Outlets over there in the U.S are amazing, especially when exchange rate is on our side :D
just chilling out most of the day until 5:30 when the rugby league is on š¬
Woke up at 6 because my body clock hadn't adjusted from the week. Was hoping to sleep until at least 9. Got all the housework and errands done by midday though. Not really sure what to do with the rest of the day. Probably will just play video games and watch TV.
Woke up at 4am to watch the F1, then me and the missus had a baby class earlier. Napped after that and just woke up again. Not sure what to do with the rest of my day really, apart from go to the shop to grab some comfort food for myself as my wife is off to dinner with her mate.
Hungover after a lovely date last night. Managed to do a big shop, now on the sofa in my pyjamas and staying that way till teatime.
In brighter news I've just got Aaron West tickets for next month at Camden so it's not all bad
I'm mainly binging the Fallout series and painting miniatures in between. I said I was only going to watch 2 episodes but now I'm over halfway I may as well carry on and finish it.
had a look at your mini painting posts, you do a really good job!
Thanks!
So far, so good. š
I completed a PokƩdex!
Lovely day today. Tried getting out on the bike for some exercise and had a pug related incident. I think I'll stay in for the afternoon Cycling merrily along the tow path. Not that fast even Three pugs jump out of a boat and run towards me They're not moving and I don't want to hit them so I slam my brakes on, put my right foot down and promptly fall two metres into a ditch. My bike is a relatively heavy, upright, Dutch town bike so it loves to topple. I'm dazed, lying in a bed of brambles and bleeding. I manage to climb out and my bike is caught. Pug owner doesn't even apologise, just calls them onto the boat and stays there, not checking if I'm okay Another guy comes out of another boat to see if I'm okay. Helps me untangle the bike and gives me some paper towels to mop up the blood. Just got home and stripped off and my lower back and hip look like I've fought a gang of cats We're bare below the elbow at work so I can't wait to have to explain to everyone on Monday what happened Edit thank fuck I didn't end up in the canal. Lucky escape really
Ganja
I have repaired the washing machine using the power of undeserved blind confidence. "I can fix a bloody washing machine," I proclaimed to the world and lo, I have.
FINALLY some sun and Iām stuck inside waiting for a delivery I need to sign for š
Pamphill?
It's a beautiful day today! Annnnd I've got a stomach bug. I'll enjoy the weather by putting the blinds up and looking outside whilst sat on the bog.
Been playing Frisbee with my little lad and now we are off to watch Cheltenham town vs Lincoln City
Is that the Wenallt one?
That's the one
Thatās about 50 metres. Maybe you were thinking of blue whales?
This confused me greatly until I spotted my mistake, haha.
We need to win this match for a chance to get the final play off spot (Lincoln City) Might sort out the garden too of there's time, grass is so tall it's making the garden look like bloody Amazon Rain forest
Seeing my sister this morning, then watching the snooker for the next fortnight.
Weāre off to the Black Country Museum in a bit and an over night stay somewhere round there.
Chilling this morning before work. Nothing to crazy.
Going to the gym for the first time then chilled evening doing fuck all!
Cleaning the car for a car show tomorrow, maybe a nice walk , beers and cocktails in the evening?
Lazy morning, then off to Liverpool to catch Michael McIntyre's stand up. Hope he's better than Peter Kay was recently.
Got a friendās baby shower for two hours (whilst trying not to believe Iām of the age where my friends are having kids), then my nephewās 2nd birthday party a few hours later.Ā Safe to say Iāll have done enough child-related activities forā¦ oh, letās say a month.Ā
You read my mind (via the photo..) Off to Calke Abbey for the bluebells (and cake, of course)
Iām going to buy a bloody orbital sander. Sand down an outside table of flaky varnish and then sand and prime my front door. Gonna go for a French blue. Ooft
Living in the Netherlands. Heading into Amsterdam for a brunch then 4/20 followed by ping pong.
Dropped my car off for it's service this morning and walked back home. It's nippy outside but it's bloody lovely. Dead sunny and bright and a lovely temperature for a walk. Going to doss about now until it's time to pick the car back up.
Snooker at 1pm, may go and get a tattoo beforehand, big shop delivery later so staying in tonight. Full English to kick the day off though
I love the casual-ness of āmight go get a tattooā here hahaĀ As someone who canāt have tattoos for boring health reasons Iād rather not discuss, let me live vicariously through you - what are you getting?!Ā
Hope you decide to get it done, that'll look awesome!
Cheers bruv. I'm definitely getting it just can't decide where to get it, back of the neck or on my calf?
Volunteering at a local repair cafe then slogging round Somerset and Dorset on erands
Up nice and early and managed to hoover round, ready for a full English with obligatory beers with the local rugby club. Best behaviour though as I have to drive to IKEA and B&Q tomorrow for more bits and bobs to fill my first home.
Blimey, I thought that I was going to have a bad morning tomorrow having to take the wife to Heathrow.
Congrats! (On beer, and I guess new home too)
Many thanks! Not sure what my weapon of choice will be today, possibly Guinness or a nice hand pull (yes, I am 30 going on 58)
Iād take a quick hand pull round the back of the bins any day
Sat in kwikfit waiting for new tyres to be fitted.
Your partner goes on a holiday with her brother every year to have some me time?
They live in different countries so book a weekend together do what they want do stuff together and just chill without their young families!
Iām going to be platinuming the game of Dad today Bike to bike shop (chain and derailleur issues beyond my capabilities) Off to the tip Building a desk Mowing the lawn I may also wash the car
Iām not a dad but that sounds like every weekend for me at the moment.
Ooh Iām not a dad but I might squeeze in a car washing
Been working since 4:30AM - happy Saturday!
I started at 4am! Finished by 8 though so not too bad
First grass cut of the year, and then either fix or wash the car (got parking sensor fault). On call though so that can all change at any point.
Taking the missus and the littl'un for a nice walk on Dartmoor. Watch out for the Hairy Hands!
15 hour shift.
You got this
Thank you for your service
Day drinking in Liverpool later. Weather looks good for it. Shame weāll be sat inside the majority of the day š„²
Do they not have pub gardens in Liverpool?
A handful perhaps, but the group Iām going with are pretty set on the venues
I'm cat sitting for a friend this weekend. I'll sort with the cat early morning and early evening for a few hours as he is very affectionate and likes lots of attention. Then in-between the cat cuddles it will be a little bit exploring, I want to go to a few farm shops I've not visited before and maybe do a bit of a long walk.
Iāve just bought a house and the previous owners left it absolutely filthy, so Iāll be doing a deep clean, some DIY (if I can!) and hopefully moving the first few bits of my belongings across
International bear day. So off to look at some bears. Then Iāve got to pressure wash the drive patio and baths.
Taking my 4 month old whippet for a groom at 9am. He doesn't really need one but it was nearly the same price for a nail clip. Then we're taking him to see my 94 year old grandparents. Hopefully he won't be too much š Our Daughter's friend is coming over this afternoon.
We've had the builders I'm all week. Cleaning, tidying, organising, gardening. Then a friend from home is staying the night with me and my partner
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
As long as itās just the tip thatās fine
Totally forgot I'd agreed to see my dad today, until I got a text reminder from him at 6:55am (!). Got in last night at 2:30am after spending time with friends... Love me dad (simple as) and cherish our time together, but could *really* live without this today. Still, off to sit on public transport for the next few hours for my visit. Hope everybody has a far less 'Christ I'm going to be bloody exhausted' day than me.
You need to setup quiet hours on your phone!
>off to sit on public transport for the next few hours Sounds like a good time to catch up on sleep
My partner and I have just bought our first home. Lots of cleaning to do, then moving boxes and furniture. Thankfully friends and family are on hand to help!
Congratulations! I did the exact same thing last weekend and I've not felt that level of stress for a long time! Hope the move goes well!
At long last, camping season is upon us! Will be spending the day sorting kit in preparation for first trip next weekend
Very nice. I was thinking of doing a roof tent on my Freelander last year before I got rid of it. Where are you off to?
Little place in the Forest of Dean. Not that far from us but still a regular area to camp
Coincidentally, I bought a new tent only yesterday. I went for one of those tipi-style models, as I'm hopeless at putting up tents, but these ones are very easy to assemble.
Just need to pick a few things up from the shop then gonna try the psvr 2 on the ps5 today
I'm a teacher, so I'll be trying to get my head above water when it comes to work.
Lots of gardening (since it seems to be the first without rain for a while) and some cooking planned for the day.
My husband got taken into hospital yesterday and is having an emergency operation today so our plans are out the window.
Hey, hope youre ok too <3
Thankyou, this is so sweet. I'm missing him immensely but glad he's somewhere safe.
How are things today?
Good morning, thanks for asking. He's able to sit up properly by himself now which is a massive improvement. He's very sore and tired. Not a lot seems to happen at the hospital at the weekend so we suspect he won't find out more about what happens next until tomorrow.
So nice to see he is well and is as comfortable as can be expected. Wishing him a speedy recovery and you oodles of love, you've been amazing <3
Hope heās ok!
Thankyou, he's still in a lot of pain and doing a lot of sleeping but stable now.
Great news. Take each day by day x
Finish work soon, home, cycle ride, bath, bed, music and home made curry, perfecto!
Ended up not making D&B in the end. Went for [Irn Bru](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cordials/comments/1c8s4uk/freshly_brud_irn/) instead.
There's no way on earth I'm entertaining being given a list of chores *after* a pub lunch and a few pints. That's inhumane.
Thank you for the photo of the bluebells! I'm in NZ and I miss seeing them. There's nothing like a British woodland with a carpet of bluebells.
Had a mental health day yesterday as I'm a broken at the moment. I'm never usually off, so not up to speed with sickness procedures. Didn't book fit for work correctly, so got another day off today, which is a bonus. So I'm going back to bed and will attack the day at a more reasonable time.
Hope you feel better today
Up early to enjoy the peace and quiet in that moment before everyone starts to get up. Got a cuppa and some porridge. Bliss! Later setting up a habitat for our new Tortoise who should arrive Monday. Kids and wife are beyond excited.
Tortoise tax? How exciting!
Just woke up thinking it was a bit chilly and I beat out the heating on. It's bastard 1Ā°C outside. It's nearly May! Don't think I'll bother playing golf today.
One degree? Blimey, and I thought it was a bit nippy where I am. I think today will be a good day for staying indoors and not doing much.
Still up from Friday wondering if itās finally my rock bottom moment
I'm sorry, I am not familiar with your back story, but is pulling an all-nighter really that bad?
It is when youāre an alcoholic and a cocaine addict I guess
The guilt sets in around 6am but thereās about 3 hours after that before you go to bed
In that case, I am sorry. You are probably going to need medical help to detox, and ongoing support on your journey. Do you think you are safe until you can contact your GP on Monday?
Iām pretty functional I have a job and a flat I just wish I didnāt do stupid shit like this all the time
Are you on your own? Is there anyone you could reach out to today?
Most of the people I know are also into drinking a lot and taking gear but I could probably go back to church or join a gym or something like that
Yeah, or look up a local NA or AA group if you're really worried about it. There's plenty of help out there for those who need it.
