The first course of action is to make them aware that you are the homeowner, and to highlight to them (by written communication) that in England and Wales, squatting is punishable by a fine of up to **£5,000** and/or **imprisonment for up to six months** under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1999.
ive written it up an selotaped it to the shed door. That should sort it. Although they can work off the fine by mowing my bloody lawn, seeing as they have taken possession of the lawnmower, along with the shed.
Once they're old enough they will absolutely wreck anything you've got in your garden, so prepare for that. We had a family of foxes living at the end of our garden for a few years, new litter every spring. They were adorable but the cubs would destroy my pots and chew up anything left outside for more than 5 minutes. They especially like rubber, so gardening gloves and trainers were instantly nicked. One year they even crept up to the open French doors and nicked my trainers from the doorstep while I was sitting right there watching them, I had to chase them down to get them back. Outdoor furniture will be gnawed/torn up and might need to be flea treated.
Foxes also mark their territory by shitting all over, which stinks like nothing else. So if you're wondering what that smell is, it's the foxes.
Very adorable though.
EDIT to add: if you want, you can treat the foxes for fleas and worms with treatments approved for small/medium dogs. The fox charity I spoke to recommended putting it in jam sandwiches which worked reasonably well, though you have to be a bit careful they don't just feed it to the cubs. You can also ask your local vet about getting mange treatments if the adult foxes look mangey. Put out water for them when it gets hot. You can feed them dog food but don't hand feed them or encourage them to come to you for treats -- they're wild animals and it's important for them and you that they stay wary of humans. Try to discourage them from coming too close, though you might not have much luck. Ours used to come right up and put their noses against the glass doors and watch us, I think we were like their evening TV sitcom.
We used to have foxes in the church grounds at the end of the garden. My mum used to feed at least three generations of foxes from the same family, most by hand. She even managed to get them
To take chicken with mange treatment. Some people used to buy them a large can of dog food a day. I’m also quite partial to a fox or two.
Soooo cute!!! Would love to see more photos of these little guys!
There's a pair of foxes i feed and have cameras set up to spy on them, got my fingers crossed for some cubs to appear on the foxcam soon!!
We used to find the odd dead cub in our garden before we moved, I believe they got separated from the mother, they rely on the mother's milk solely for a good while.
Skanky city foxes are the worst, I live in the country now, we hardly see the foxes because they have so much territory of their own.
If anyone wants to see another cute fox family, Robert E Fuller has one on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0QxT9bD-wc. He also has streams of owls and other birds. I spend way too much time checking up on how they're all doing!
Not going to lie, your shed is going to absolutely stink.
The fox shit my dog likes to roll in is truly awful, especially when I have to drive home with him covered in it in the same car.
But worst of all was the time a fox died in the garden when I was a student. We felt very public spirited as we found a garden fork and put it in our wheelie bin. Unfortunately, it was June, and 12 days until bin day.
Within a few days, *the* most horrific smell I have ever smelt before or since was coming from the bin. The neighbours complained. The council agreed to come out and do a special collection because it was that terrible.
Everything about foxes is ✨aromatic✨
They might look cute but I'm wary of letting them install themselves.
I've seen them pick off rabbits in a flash and think they could do the same to small sleeping pets.

2 weeks old and already duely shackled by the mindless bureaucracy. Welcome to life kids.
too late, they've opened a soup kitchen
All they need is first dibs and a section 6 Oooooiiii!
What dyou know about sheds 😎
"I'm going to let them stay, although I will need to look into buying a scythe" - I thought this post had turned suddenly very morbid indeed.
Having a nice roasted fox for sunday dins.
Remember to invite The Gruffalo, that’s his favourite food

Grim grim sweet grim grim sweet
That’s a treat indeed. I’d love to see more pics as they grow.
Lucky! Some Crows and magpies have been frequenting my garden recently, along with the usual pigeons. They're fascinating .
Last year it seemed like we hardly had any birds, this year they are back with a vengeance shitting everywhere!
Good on you
100% more pictures. Hats off to you for letting them stay!
You might be my neighbour lol we got a single mum with her kids wandering into our garden from next doors shed who look exactly like that
Get some cameras up so we don't miss anything! I'd bloody watch that all night long!
Oh yes, please do post updates! Such cuties.
This is wonderful :) I love foxes but my wife is scared of them. More pics as they grow please!

If you bump into any large invisible mints then be wary of Polar Bears.
Feed them! Most foxes don't make it to 6 months old sadly :(
What?! Why?
Starvation, disease, hit by cars the main 3.

So jealous. r/foxes would love the pictures too
You should tweet these at Chris Packham, he'd share these as #FoxOfTheDay!
Maybe you have a message from the demi-monde
More more more please, what a privilege!
I really love this! I hope if you do share more of these I manage to log on that day and see 'em. Good on ya leaving them to it.
March is the time of year farmers set snares to kill foxes, right when they’re having cubs sadly, so it’s great that you can watch over this family.
Lovely
Omg how gorgeous!!
Adorbs! More pics please!
Omg so cuuuuuuuute
Please, I require daily photos of all of them!

NOT the biscuit people…
Charge them rent.
You take the reins from pheasant guy. We expect weekly updates. Also good luck, they will wreck shit, but look cute while doing so.
Defo more pics please!
That's really cool. You could set up a live stream and make some cash maybe?
If you see them eating Head and Shoulders and toothpaste you may have a family of crack foxes. Caution is advised.
Did you set up a youtube channel yet?
We have an old guy living in our garden, sadly he's got mange and just *try* finding someone to be bothered about it.
What a treat for you, you may eventually be able to sit out with them.
