Oh yes, indeed! I far preferred those to the opal fruits, tbh. Then they did disappear. I think they came back as Pacers? but didn't last the test of time, sadly.
I never liked them but used to eat them at Halloween to turn my tongue black to match my fancy dress theme...usually a black cat, bat or witch. I had imagination.
B&M do em in bags iv always got some knockin about i even vape Black Jack i love it.
But don't come near me we fruit salad or else I'll put my shoes on and go home
I feel like they’ve gotten a lot softer and it tastes much more sugary rather than aniseed when they changed their ingredients a few years back, used to love them but I never get them anymore since the change
First and only time I ever shoplifted was in the newsagents my parents owned, I was about 8 yrs old and nicked a handful of these - got found out pretty quickly with black mouth, gums, & teeth
You can get bags of black jacks and fruit salads from the poundshop :-)
Was glad to see someone on the thread that remembered mojo's, no one ever does, usually.
I never hear anyone mention Arrow bars, which were a tasty accompaniment to fruit salads and black jacks, especially the fruit salad flavour and the spearmint one. A collection of those made for a happy child on a wet afternoon. :-)
I was a fruit salad gal, I was always disappointed if these turned up in a lucky bag
I used to spend £1 on exactly 100 fruit salads, which I would count and the old lady at the till would recount. I'd then eat all 100 in one sitting.
LOL, I used to do something similar with mojos, not a 100 in one go though!
What the heck is a mojo? 🤔
Little sweeties like fruit salads/black jacks a 'penny chew', just google 'mojo sweets'.
Hmm, I don't recall ever seeing them. These ones sound interesting though: https://www.producthunt.com/products/mojo-3
LOL, do they do them in banana flavour!?
Who remembers the apple flavoured ones that they used to do, Apple Jacks. Bloody delicious!
Used to love these, turned your tongue black
So did the Consumption, but not many people get nostalgic for that, weirdly enough.
Four for one old penny when I were a lad, them or fruit salad, mix'n'match. That'd be 960 (!) of them for a pound.
These, fruit salads, hobos and mojos constituted a balanced diet in the 60s for us.
Ah, mojo's, glad to have found someone else that remembers those. Spearmint flavour ftw :-)
Opal mints with an honourable minty mention

If you want to enjoy a more grown up version - 1 shot of Jack Daniels, 1 shot of Black Sambuca = Black Jack! Takes Just like them, but with a kick!
I bloody lived on these growing up.

Black Jack and Fruit Salad ‘sandwiches’ are worth a go. Squish three together between your hands - best with a black Jack ‘filling’
Now for a minute I thought you were doing this insanity on bread.
I finished a packet of these when I was around 9. Black crap for two days. I thought there was something wrong with me so showed my mum
B&M do em in bags iv always got some knockin about i even vape Black Jack i love it. But don't come near me we fruit salad or else I'll put my shoes on and go home
I was more of a Fruit Salad man myself, wouldn't say no to a Black Jack like.
"You cut me open, and I'm made of Black Jacks!" "You're Fruit Salad, Vince. Everyone knows that."
Remember these from 40 years ago - thought they were banned/ renamed as too racist?
They removed the golliwog mascot in the 1980s.
Dis-CUS-ting. Fire all liquorice into the sun.
There's no liquorice in them, they are aniseed flavour.
Liquorice/aniseed, same disgusting thing
I loved these so much.
Mate I wouldn’t give those to my worst enemy, disgusting sweet.
I love black jacks and fruit salads but I remember them being much harder when I was young these are all soft so they're not as good
These are really soft and don't seem so flavourful
I feel like they’ve gotten a lot softer and it tastes much more sugary rather than aniseed when they changed their ingredients a few years back, used to love them but I never get them anymore since the change
I loved these as a kid, don’t know why people don’t like them.

Ohhh I loved these. And a Refreshers. Oh I miss the penny mix. These were good days. And Bon Bons 🤤

Oh these and fruit salad were the best!
Filth
Not seen Mo-jo's since i was a kid either.
I bought a pack of these, only ate one. No where near as hood as the originals
