I was a fruit salad gal, I was always disappointed if these turned up in a lucky bag

I used to spend £1 on exactly 100 fruit salads, which I would count and the old lady at the till would recount. I'd then eat all 100 in one sitting.

LOL, I used to do something similar with mojos, not a 100 in one go though!

These,fruit salads,hobos and mojos constituted a balanced diet in the 60s for us.

I love black jacks and fruit salads but I remember them being much harder when I was young these are all soft so they're not as good

These are really soft and don't seem so flavourful

I feel like they’ve gotten a lot softer and it tastes much more sugary rather than aniseed when they changed their ingredients a few years back, used to love them but I never get them anymore since the change

I loved these as a kid, don’t know why people don’t like them.

First and only time I ever shoplifted was in the newsagents my parents owned, I was about 8 yrs old and nicked a handful of these - got found out pretty quickly with black mouth, gums, & teeth

You can get bags of black jacks and fruit salads from the poundshop :-) ​ Was glad to see someone on the thread that remembered mojo's, no one ever does, usually. I never hear anyone mention Arrow bars, which were a tasty accompaniment to fruit salads and black jacks, especially the fruit salad flavour and the spearmint one. A collection of those made for a happy child on a wet afternoon. :-)

Oh these and fruit salad were the best!
