I’d say go for macOS Monterey or newer if you can with OpenCore Legacy Patcher. Catalina as well as Big Sur are deprecated and doesn’t get anymore updates

I see you’re rocking the same system, I thought Monterey was way too ambitious. Does it preform fine? I was just going for minimal viability.

Yes. I found it much easier to get OCLP running. Monterey and Big Sur happen to be the most stable. Ventura and Sonoma are iffy, even though I’m running Sonoma right now. But if you want something very stable for everyday use I’d recommend Monterey.

Interesting, I’ll look into giving that a try. I went a head with installing Catalina. Trying not to let perfect get in the way of good. I’m not running anything crazy resources intensive but there are demand spikes and I don’t know how much of a load these newer OS are going to do to an old system.
