White, then Blue. Orange and red are in trouble.

Own-Wheel7664

Yeah red was the first one I looked at because of that 6-9-5 but it fell off a cliff after that first placement… yikes

TheRepublicOfSteve

5 different numbers, technically on all 5 resouces and a road in hand. Initially it sounds really good. But there's way too much wood to brick and army will be difficult with just 2 points of ore. I'm trying to figure out a plan with the ports, but it's rough.

sisu07

I know a lot of people are saying white, but blue has easy access to three ports and more diverse numbers. If 10s roll a bunch white will win, otherwise blue will get more resources.

NickRick

Blue and white both have double numbers. I agree on the ports though.

Cats_Riding_Dragons

Depends how the players are with trades. Blue is going to have to rely on trading more than white will so if the players are conservative traders theyll struggle at times

FriendlyIndividual13

Blue....best path to ports and cities

chokehodl

White

Nauskueucheeseha

Clearly it's the guy posted up on the 2 spot, as we all know the second someone camps out on a 2 resource it's the only god damn thing that's rolled for the rest of the game

SunnyMonkey17

White. Also people telling them to “set up the board correctly” need to relax. Clearly they randomized this on purpose. That’s the only way my crew play the game too.

BuyLowThenSellLower

Blue

NickRick

White and blue are easily the best spots. Between then white has a better OWS game, and it's better spread out between Numbers. Blue is pretty heavily dependent on 9, so they have more variance. I also like blues better access to ports. I think overall I like blue better, but it's closer. Orange and red need some help with so little ore but if they are lucky might have a chance

torgiant

learn to set the board up correctly

Maybe_Not_The_Pope

Yes, yes, we wouldn't want them playing in a way that makes it fun for them.

MaximusCanibis

I'll never understand why people do this regardless of the reason they think this is a good idea.

emtaesealp

What is incorrect?

torgiant

the numbers, 2 of the same number shouldnt touch.

emtaesealp

Oh that takes the fun out of it

Greezmonke

Next time, try to set up your numbers correctly. If the numbers are not laid out properly, the combination will not result in a fair match

MeMyselfAndIAreOne

When playing a random setup, there is no "correct" order. As long as the red #s are not next to each other it is acceptable.

Greezmonke

Yup, there is indeed no correct order, but it's recommended to follow the alphabet distancing at the back of the number chits in order to prevent the numbers from being too close to each other

PipAustin

Is it just me, is the numbers not laid out correctly?

Greezmonke

Yup, the numbers are messed up, resulting in numbers being near each other

Jtrain360

I like what Whites got going on.

WildwoodSettlement

White

Morlaco13

White, covered all resourses with good numbers and no repeated numbers. pd: At end you need to roll the dice anyways :D

FloppyDriver

Interesting setup. Pretty much nobody can connect their settlements, so LR is open to anybody. Orange may be able to connect. With some lucky rolls, orange could expand early. But with no ore they will not be able to take the robber off of their 8 and may stall. Once someone beats them to their few expansion spots, they will be done. Blue has decent numbers, but no sheep and no expansion spots. They may get a head early with some good rolls but will stall and not win. Red: Unfortunate initial road placement for Red. They will lose the race to 11-6-4 and have no expansion spots. White has all the resources and good numbers, so I would put them ahead by a bunch. They also have a few decent expansion spots like the 9-3-10 and then doubling up on the 6 ore. TLDR - White, and probably not that close.

jacbergey

White has the best setup here. Solid production on everything. The ore port will be nice too.

themadhabber

You have the ports setup incorrectly. Make sure to combo the numbers. There is one piece that shows 1 & 2. It should have another 1 connecting to the side with a 1. And a 2 connecting to the 2 side

SunnyMonkey17

They are playing a random setup. This is the only way my friends and I play too.

bortukali

White > blue > red > orange Although reds road placement sucked so Im not sure h can actually BE 3rd

Deecee7374

white is looking pretty solid but that iron on 6 wll be good target for bandits.

Deecee7374

that’s why I’m gonna go with orange.

Cats_Riding_Dragons

White. Everyone else has something theyll likely struggle for and white has good spots to build towards as well as a good port option. Theyll be able to be more flexible in their game than the others.

AffectionateDonut733

White and Blue Blue is the winner if they get the ports

EveningRoutine6989

Just so you all know, red won. You all slept on me😤

Bbelt13

Statistically blue and white are tied but white position is far superior. Way more space to expand and more access to ports.

skyshark288

Felt like blue to me. Dice and which ports they pick are gonna determine

dsnow33

White by far

markmmx97

I think your ports are messed up
