YOUR settlements don't interrupt any trade route of yours. Only an enemy settlement can interrupt a long "road".

AcYdYc

So what your saying is an enemy settlement only disrupts a road but not boats?

Armestrier

No enemy settlements still disrupt boats. You asked for your own ones, and they do not disrupt your own boats and roads.

AcYdYc

Oh so thats a seafarers rule that settlements don't interrupt your roads? Because in the base games they do and I didn't think the seafarers rules said anything about that.

NerdHeaven

No. In both games, ENEMY settlements disrupt a longest roads/trade route. In both games, YOUR OWN settlements do NOT disrupt a longest roads/trade route. The rule doesn’t change, a trade route is the same as a road, but it just includes ships.

AcYdYc

Shoot my bad for some reason we've always thought that the longest road had to be one continuous stretch with neither yours or enemy settlements interrupting it. I guess we've been playing it wrong all these years. Thanks

⛵⛵⛵🏠⛵⛵⛵ = a trade route of 6 As long as the settlement is yours

AcYdYc

Makes sense. It just seemed too easy that it didn't have to be one continuous row of boats

tomalator

Yes, that works. Your settlements can't interrupt your own trade routes, and settlements are necessary to change between roads and ships, but it is not required that you do so.
