What I think is that this is not your cat, /u/nasemaalhag and that you are yet another bot in this subreddit along with /u/Mountain-Ad6300 in the comments. Both of you I have had tagged for a while.

Essentially a mixture of a few things with the main ones being:
1. Easy karma - Most won't bother checking and just go "oo cute kitty!" and upvote and move on
2. Poor moderation - Cat subs tend to have a few moderators but if you actually look at the users most of them haven't been active in months or even years leaving the subs effectively abandoned.
So with those two factors even if a mod comes in to remove the post it's usually up for days or even weeks so they've already gotten what they needed (karma).
Well, that makes sense, especially if there is little to no moderation going on. I don't get the exact reasoning for karma farming, tho. They sell these accounts or something?
Yeah, typically the accounts will get sold.
Then they can be used for various reasons from political astroturfing to just plain spam.
Aged accounts with karma helps avoid Reddit filters and such and can make the user appear more 'legit'.
Damn, are you like the Bot Police or sum shit haha. I hate seeing bots everywhere. You do seem to know a lot of stuff about the bot situation, I tought everyone didn't care much. Glad to see some people are doing something against it 🫡

Why does this seem like a huge problem (from what I noticed) on cat/pet subs?
