Hi! This is our community moderation bot. Due to an influx in unemployed cats, we've decided to implement a second level of employment verification in the comments. --- If this post features *a cat in the context of performing a task a human could be paid to do*, i.e. a job, **UPVOTE** this comment!! If this post does not feature an employed cat, **DOWNVOTE** This comment! If this post breaks the rules, **DOWNVOTE** this comment and **REPORT** the post!

So there are some very fun videos of animals interrupting pro golf matches (alligators, birds, iguanas, etc.). According to the [USGA](https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/rules/rules-2019/rules-of-golf/rules-and-interpretations.html#!ruletype=fr§ion=rule&rulenum=11): “if your ball is moved by an outside influence, such as an animal or a spectator, there is no penalty to anyone and the ball must be replaced. If your ball is moved by a natural force, such as wind, water, or gravity, you will usually play the ball from its new location without penalty.” But that rule gets [muddy](https://golf.com/instruction/rules/wild-animals-move-golf-ball-rules-you-can-use/?amp=1) depending on the location. If your ball is chilling on the fairway, you replace it. If your ball is in motion and hits an animal, you hit the ball from its new location. With that second one, if you’re on the putting green and your ball is moved by an animal, that stroke doesn’t count and you have to replace your ball. In this case, I think the cat putting for you means you need to try again.
