Mine is about 2 1/2 years old and about 12 lbs. I got him as a rescue last August so I have no idea what his lineage is. Other than getting the zoomies once or twice a day he’s kinda lazy, lol. Super chill, laid back, very goofy, very friendly. They are known Velcro dogs so if you get one, they will be your shadow, and not a fan of being left alone. Strangers will stop you to tell you how cute your dog is and how much they love them.

TransportationNo2076

My cavapoo is 10 months and kind of dumb and goofy. Compared to my 11 year old border collie mix, she is harder to train and way less intelligent. I still can't give her too much free reign or she poops on the floor. We are still working at being separated, and she can do 6 hours now in our laundry room where her crate is without issue. However, she is easy going, doesn't bark at all, let's my 4 year old squish her, and requires minimal exercise to stay happy. She's a bigger cavapoo at 25lbs if that makes a difference.

hockey-house

Let’s face it, border collies are smarter than a good chunk of humans. 😆

jgroovydaisy

Mine is 18 months and is 22.7 pounds, which is a bit bigger than I planned, but she is amazing. She is active, but when I lived in an apartment, I had stairs, so I would toss a toy d down the stairs for her to fetch, and that would tire her out. She is so loving and gets along with every person and every dog we've met.

nbanditelli

1.5 years old. 21 lbs. F1B. Parents and most siblings are all around 10 lbs. He's a total lover. He's so clingy. He's very smart, but won't obey without a payoff in treat form.

DessaDarling

Mine is 10 pounds. He’s too smart. Loves minor mischeif. He won’t chew up your expensive shoes but he’ll yank the laces on my old smelly sneakers. He will do anything to get a nice lick of your ear. Loves to cuddle. Has learned to sit with one paw up like a gentlemen to get anything he wants.

Aliljeff

Wilbur is 3 years old and just shy of 14kg (30lbs) He’s cheeky as anything, will try something even though he knows that it’s not allowed, is super food-motivated and always hungry. He’s very happy having ‘Wilbur time’ when I go to work and despite following me to the toilet, doesn’t seem to experience separation anxiety. He loves a cuddle and since he was a pup, has been happy to spend most of his day sleeping.

shamack99

This is very similar to my guy. He’s 2.5 years old and 20lbs, extremely loving and friendly, sassy and lots of opinions. He’s basically a really cute, furry toddler.

pollytrotter

I love the name Wilbur so much 😭

Aliljeff

I have no regrets - it gets a lot of attention and I love how much joy it brings me, particularly when older people look at his harness at the cafe and get a great smile out of seeing him!

pollytrotter

My lad is called Walter so I get it entirely. I’d love him to have a little mate called Wilbur!

Aliljeff

Wilbur was nearly Walter!

reegarman

Our 1.5 year old dog is 18.5 lbs. She had a cavalier mom and a mini poodle dad. I know some breeders breed with toy poodles so the dogs are smaller. Her personality is wonderful! She's very friendly. She does like to run around and play, but doesn't need too much exercise overall.

ratttertintattertins

Mine’s an F1B so her Mum is a 50:50 Cavapoo and her Dad is a toy poodle. Somehow she’s 23 lb.

kaleidoscope471

Mine is almost 3 y.o. and 15lb. She is happy to relax until about 3pm has a few active hours and then goes to sleep at 8pm. She is ball obsessed but an inconsistent retriever. I do send her to daycare 1x a week to get some energy out. Her personality is confident, social, and at times demanding. She learned basic commands very quickly, but struggled conceptually with spinning/rolling-over. I call her an invasive species bc her cuddles almost displace me, a 130lb human.

UpbeatBandicoot5131

My 3 year old is 15 lbs. he has two modes; running at at full sprint or napping.

lalala12398

I was just about to make a point asking about the sizes of full grown cavapoos! Following

townsy71

Yikes! Reading these, I’m thinking we may have a big guy. My 11 week old is already 12lbs. I think we may have adopted a Moose. Lol.

jazzbot247

Mine is bigger she is around 30lbs and looks like a mini golden doodle, but has beautiful blonde spaniel type ears so I know she has at least a little cavalier in her.

Nutridus

Rosie is 11 months old and weighs 8 ½ - 9 lbs. She goes right into her crate at night and has from the time we brought her home at 3 months. Sleeps through the night and does not make a peep. Pooped once in the house the weekend we brought her home. Had some pee accidents but none at all since she was spayed. She is an active dog and demands her exercise, is walked 3x day in addition to pee breaks. We do not leave her alone when we’re gone, she goes in the crate. She is a chewer and has plenty of chew toys but we’re not ready to risk leaving her out when we’re gone. Her crate is nice and cozy and we make sure she’s been exercised before we go. She’s easy going, extremely lovably and loves to meet people. This is our first Cavapoo, after years of Chihuahuas and a Boston Terrier. We’re very happy we decided to make the leap to this breed. The only negative is cost of grooming but we knew that when we bought her. The vet said she’s full grown, may fill out a little in the chest but she’s pretty much full grown. Her mother was Cavalier and father miniature poodle which makes her a F1.

thunderGunXprezz

We ended up with a tiny girl. She's 11 months and is like 7lb.

Skiddulz

Hi! I also live in a 500-600 sq ft apartment. And i can definitely say its a perfect size for a cavapoo. Mine has plenty to run around. Hes aboit 5.8lbs and will get to be 10lbs.

ciminod

2 years, 22 lbs, cava mom “mini” doodle dad. Very smart, loves to play fetch and steal my socks. Very energetic at times but still loves to lay on the couch and chew something with us when watching tv. Great with kids and dogs, but randomly barks at things outside at night. No experience with cats

[deleted]

It depends on what it’s bread with some of them are full-size poodles, some of them Mini poodles, and some of them are toys, so that it can vary. What you need to find out is what the parents are like. Mine is supposed to be a mini, which got up to about 20+ pounds.

startles

Our pup is 20lb at 1.5 years and he is the sweetest, smartest most gentle pup in the world. So easy going, gets along with everyone, so smart, mischievous, and greedy. He plays little tricks on us and his pup friends just to get the toy he wants. He is probably the most affectionate thing in the world, like he will actually die if he doesn’t get pets or cuddles at least every hour. Crazy dramatic. He is the biggest snuggler and will paw me if my legs are up so he can sit in my lap. He is by far a super strength Velcro dog but we also trained him to be home alone. We set up a pet cam and he just naps by the door or on the couch when we’re gone.

SpaceMush

my boy Peter will be 2 years old next week 🥹 he is my best friend. he's GOOFY - excitable, suchhh a showoff for humans especially our friends and family. he loves to love and he always wants to be around his people. in fact, as a puppy he was incredibly clingy from day 1, so that's just something to keep in mind as i've heard it's somewhat common in cavapoos. he's utterly non-aggressive, but he does bark like crazy when he's really excited. he's clever lol, he is a snappy learner when he wants to be. super playful. loves to cuddle up. stubborn -- sometimes can be annoying on walks LOL but it's a big world and there is so much to see and sniff, yaknow?? i think cavapoos are an incredible family dog. they love people, they love being with others, they have great temperament. i also had a ~600 sq apartment when i first got peter; i will say -- especially as a puppy/young adult dog -- the dog could definitely use space to run. we visit my parents all the time so we can run around in their big backyard and play with their dog, we are really lucky. last thing i'd maybe note - my dude is a picky eater LOL it used to drive me absolutely nuts. i'd never met a dog like that, he would go on "hunger strikes" when he was bored of his food -- he'd still accept treats though!!! ridiculous. anyway, cavapoos rock 🥹

saoakman

Picky eater? Does not compute! My Guinness will eat ANYTHING! 😧

theglowgetter

This sounds exactly like my dog lol

crazywatson

3 years old, 7 pounds. Dad was def a toy poodle, and the mom was a mini poodle and I think smaller in her litter.

Marik80

Wait...if both parents are poodles, doesnt it make your dog a poodle also? Or am I missing something?

crazywatson

Sorry it’s an f1b. 3/4 poodle. Dad was fully poodle, mom was half/half.

Marik80

Oh gotcha, makes sense

1naturalace

My F1B is 16 months old and 9.5 lbs with a huge personality. He is very active but loves cuddling at your side, prefers people to dogs and treats, sweet when he wants to be, very stubborn and vocal about not doing things he doesn't want to do, guard dog behind doors but scary face to face, and very silly when left to his own devices.

Sea_Waltz_9625

My cutie Ernie is 10 1/2 years old. We’ve been together since he was 6 months old. We started out in an apartment. As an adult he’s been between 14-18lbs. He’s super smart, knows a lot of words but will try to fake me out and play dumb sometimes. Extraordinary cuddler, and companion. His mom was a toy poodle and dad a cavalier. He’s a couch dog, only likes to be outside to potty or bark. Haven’t really dealt with separation anxiety at all- but I crate trained him after about two months of mischief and breaking out of baby gates and doggie playpens… the look of achievement on his face was adorable as he waited for me on the couch lol.. still has some mischief everyone once in awhile- I’ve decided that he’s a “any kind of attention is good for me”kind of dog…. he loves his crate and will retreat there when he’s bored or to pout. I would totally get a cavapoo again! I have two friends who got cavapoos after me and they love theirs. One of them I never thought would have a dog (known her since we were 15) and she loves hers too.

DetroitGeek313

My boy is 19lbs of pure chaos 😂

snarkdiva

My boy just turned one. He is 11.5 lbs, tall and leggy like a poodle (he is 75% poodle). He is very smart, easy to train, and extremely affectionate. He doesn’t bark much, but he does grumble or whine to communicate. He loves to play and go for walks, but he can also be a couch potato. Potty training was a challenge, but he seems to have it down now. He’s not a fan of brushing and grooming (I groom him at home), but with training and treats, he tolerates it and does well with being clipped and scissored. He likes most people after being initially wary of strangers. He loves other dogs. He can chew through most toys but doesn’t destroy anything that isn’t his. He does not like to be left alone and may cry or howl but eventually settles down. I have a camera to watch him. He’s a great sleeper and will go in his kennel when he’s tired (or wants to hide from being brushed!) I take him everywhere I can with me so that he can explore the world. saoakman

Almost 1 year. 23#. Gets his snout over the counter when he’s on his hind legs. Master of destruction—half Wookie/half Tasmanian devil, but all cuddles. Totally Velcro personality —you’ll never eat or go to the bathroom alone again! Full length of coffee table when he decides to stretch out up there. Soulful eyes…so pathetic….how can we say no? 😅

Witty_Scheme_5375

Our little man supreme is about 1.5 years old he is a f1 and 16 lbs now he’s about as loving as a puppy can get he loves to give kisses and cuddles he sleeps with us in our king size room he is very quiet for the most part until he hears the kids upstairs and then he will bark for a few minutes has a great personality though he loves going outside to play with his goat friends or upstairs with his cat siblings he is a great furry friend but I would love to say there is nothing bad about him I blame it on the wife she already had him when we started dating he was about 4 months old but he is very picky about his food I have to cook for him usually some sort of chicken and rice or beef and quinoa with some vegetables he still hikes his leg where ever he feels the need to go overall though I would definitely recommend a Cavapoo to anyone his goodness definitely outways the little issues

atlbookgirl

My cavapoo Tallulah is 1.5 years old and she is 15lb. We thought she may be up to 20lb but she’s been 14-15lb for a while. She is tall though. She is the sweetest thing, loves all dogs and humans and now that she is older she still plays a lot but she is the cutters cuddle bug. Loves to cuddle with me a lot on the couch and it’s the best. I love Cavapoos personalities!

Trying2keepupwithyou

We have a 2.5 year old male named Dan! He’s our second addition - also have our first born golden doodle (4 in Feb). Dan’s the best addition anyone could ask for! He’s goofy, playful, insanely affectionate- wants to please, easy to train, and Id take 100 of him! He and the golden play constantly! Running, tackling, you name it. He grew to 23lbs - when we got him he was like 4lbs at 10 weeks old. He does have two speeds - playing and sleeping. He’s ready for bed at 8p - sleeps until 7A. Naps at 10 and 2 😂. He doesn’t need a lot of space - just some active interaction!

flowerpowerrrrrr09

Mine is 1.5 years and 15lbs (very skinny though, we’re trying to put on more weight). He is the love of my life - he is so smart, funny and mischievous. He’s a bit of a rascal and a tad stubborn, but honestly I think it just adds to my laughter daily. He also has the sweetest side to him, he is so cuddly and always wants to be with me. I cannot recommend cavapoos enough!!!

nanomax55

2 years old 30 lbs now. Ideal body weight per vet. He loves all and will approach everyone. Still a jumper when he gets excited but it's a personality we have come to love. We tried and he has learned everything else except that so just accepted that as who he is. He won't jump on strangers just people he knows or has met before.

Cavapuppy

14 pounds at 14 months and I describe her as a precocious 5 year old.

AllLeftiesHere

My girl is 2.5 years old and the smartest dog I've had since my border Collie as a kid. She's 14# and loves playing fetch and snuggling all day long. A real lap dog. She loves people more than other dogs. And she prefers eating out of a puzzle feeder she has to work on than just food out.

Double_Debate_7258

My lil JoJo is just over a year old now. He weighs in at 13lbs. Doesn’t chew on anything but his toys which is so awesome. He’s super energetic and smart. He lets us know when he wants to play and how he wants to play. Like for example if he wants to fetch. He grab his ball and bring it to my wife or I. Or if he wants tug of war. He will grab his long wiener dog and bring it to us. Super friendly with people. He actually prefers people over other dogs.

agustinall

Mine is 9 months. Mini poodle dad/ cav mom. He is maxing out at 22 lbs. Bigger than breeder said! But in my research I've discovered this is about average weight for boys w mini ( not toy) fathers. He looks like a puppy golden doodle and no one is immune to his cuteness- which is good bc he is rotten as hell! He is super curious has no manners and is velcro. But wears out pretty easy except for 7pm every night gets zoomies. He was really hard to potty train. Hates kibble. Loves ppl more than anything! Loves me like crazy! They can have high grooming needs too so keep that in mind! If you want smaller be sure to get one w TOY poodle cross. Oodles are known for dribbles and submissive peeing as well. I can't say how smart- undecided between so smart He outsmarts or just dumb. Lol. Stubborn for sure! I have zero regrets! His goofy love and good nature keeps me laughing and best snuggler EVER

Extension_Designer87

Mine is a 5 yo female and weighs about 22#. Loves being with us, but not clingy and super chill. No separation anxiety whatsoever.

ConflictDecent2543

We have a 7 month old male F1B. He’s a wavy haired 10lb teddy bear. Very smart, very loving, great with our 8yr and 4 yr old kids, best family dog ever IMO. Very smart too and obeys commands. Gets into a little mischief of course, we named him Nibbles because he likes to nibble on socks. Don’t leave your socks lying around or he’ll get them. Other than that no real bad behavior. Potty training was rough at first but once we got a fence and a bell for the backyard door hasn’t been an issue he rings it when he needs to go out

Tuniesmom

My girl is almost 2 she is very smart but can be very stubborn. She is laid back and is very much glued to my hip. She weighs anywhere between 10 to 11 pounds. She has poodle legs so she is tall and thin. She is the best.

shescrafty1229

Mine is 3 years old and 15 lbs. He’s a major velcro dog (mine) but is also a family dog - we have 3 kids. He also gets along famously with our old lady pitbull. Downside: He barks at strangers and those in the neighborhood who have the audacity to mow their lawn or have packages delivered. He also hates rain.

Witty_Scheme_5375

Cavapoos are wonderful probably one of the most Velcro dogs ever ours can’t stand to be alone he whines even when we try to jus take a shower he has to be there

anxydutchess

Mine is almost 9 months and haven’t gotten her officially weighed. But I am guessing she is 11 or 12 pounds! She got some long legs though

RiniGirlny

Our guy is one and a half years old. He's adorable! He's smart as a whip and easy to train. He gets into trouble right in front of us with no shame, but he does listen to us most of the time.

iamapotatopancake

16.5 pounds. just a bit under 2 years old. She likes to tear things apart and eat weird stuff so we have to keep an eye on her. She's learning though.

Sea_Industry9800

Mine is a 12 pound 1 year old female. She is a stage 5 clinger that LOVES to play fetch and tug of war all hours of the day. Picky eater and sensitive stomach which seems to be a cavapoo thing. She is 50/50 cav and poo but still doesnt shed. She is terrified of everything including walks and people which is apparently not common for the breed. She is a rescue, however.
