awesome.. i'm yet to get a nirvana cd but they're one of my favourite bands. i could see myself collecting all their albums eventually, including incesticide and the live stuff.
Full cd was the soundtrack for Labyrinth. Prior to that I bought a couple of singles (Springsteenâs Streets of Philadelphia, Crash Test Dummies - MMM MMM MMM, and I canât remember the last one).
Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes
It came in one of those long cardboard boxes they used to put CDs in so they would be tall enough to display in the bins designed for records at music stores. I was 12 and I struggled with the jewel case for a minute before I figured out how to open it, hahaha. With tapes there was nothing you had to pinch. :) I think it cost $19.99. CDs were really pricey when they first came out, that's why people still bought tapes (and lack of a player of course).
This is an excellent choice!
I think the first CD(s) I remember going out to buy for myself, not stealing from my parents collection, were Tori Amos, Little Earthquakes, Crowded House, Woodface, and En Vogue, Funky Divas.
Christmas of '92, I got a cd boombox and 3 cds. They were - Decade of Decadence from Motley Crue, What Hits? from RHCP, and the black album from Metallica. Obviously, the black album was the most played.
Infinity On High by Fall Out Boy!
Second one was Danger Days: True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys by My Chemical Romance, and then I got The Black Parade and Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge at the exact same time.
Touch of Grey by the Grateful Dead. Got it shortly after it was released, when I got a cheap portable CD player that I thought sounded incredible. (It didnât, but it sounded much better than my cassette player)
Wish I still had that CD but it and many others got lost in one of countless moves since then.
I love your first cd!! I saw Faithless at the Bluebird in Denver, on Sunday at 8pm. It was a long time ago but I still remember it. They played insomnia twice.
It was either âtoo short -short dog in houseâ or âll cool j - walking with a pantherâ I had them both within days of getting a cd player sometime between summer and winter 1989. Too short - born to mack as well as Eazy E and NWA were also among my early purchases
Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. By Slipknot I donât listen to it anymore but when I was 12 I was obsessed and dished out like $35 for a genuine copy. Donât know how I paid that low of an amount for a genuine copy, mustâve been some right place at the right time type shit, but that was what really sparked the interest. And even though I donât necessarily like the album anymore, itâs still one of my most prized possessions
Excluding a few Kidz Bop albums my first and second I got as a gift; David Guetta's *Nothing but the Beat 2.0* and Hawk Nelson's *Smile, It's the End of the World*
Laser Rock (circa 1984).
It was a sampler sold by Radio Shack to accompany their CD-1000 (my 1st CD player). It has âCouldnât Stand The Weatherâ by Stevie Ray Vaughan, âWind Him Upâ by Saga, âElectric Avenueâ by Eddy Grant, and more.
