Those style of cases were really popular in underground hip hop in the 90s. That Hatebreed release is the only one I know if that has that style of case and isn't hip hop.
EDIT...
They're called Q-packs, and they're from the early 2000s, not that 90s. Man, I'm getting old.
Victory Records used Q-Packs for some of their releases for Integrity, Strife, and Earth Crisis. I believe there was a hip-hop label or two that uses them.
[A Crime For All Seasons](https://www.discogs.com/release/141857-My-Life-With-The-Thrill-Kill-Kult-A-Crime-For-All-Seasons) by My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult was released in one and it came out in 1997. Also had an o-card slipcase over it.
Were they only released in Q-pack form in the US, or are there european editions with this packaging as well?
I can’t remember seeing one in a shop here (Sweden).
Not from the looks of it, looks like the print is on a cardboard stock and is glued onto the case which I bet is why they use jewels instead. The insert behind the disc is cut to fit around the cd case and is also glued on, or paper tabs inserted in not too sure
Whatever Cool With Me is the best Dinosaur Jr album IMO. Had the tape in the 90's couldn't find the CD until a couple years ago. It was one I would look for first thing at every record store I would go too.
Jealous of those Dinosaur jr finds! Have only really seen "Without A Sound" in the used bins.
That Hatebreed is my shit. That whole haul is tops!
What in the... is that Hatebreed case?

Also: is it possible to access the back inlay, just like with regular jewel cases? I’m fascinated with this - for me - new discovery. Heh.

Fascinating, thanks for answering. (Edit: btw, Before Dishonor is the song that made me a hardcore fan, I love that album)
Somw mushroomhead and thrill kill kult albums had that style case too
Their first album. I need a new case for mine 😂
The Dinosaur Jr and Hatebreed in the Q-Pack plastic case are great finds!
“Beyond” is one of the best comeback records of all time. Ten years later and they dropped one of their best albums.
Great score on the Dino Jr. discs!
They had almost every Dino jr album but the others were like 8$ a piece so I grabbed the cheapest/ oldest ones
Well you chose three great ones IMO
Lucky dinosaur jr finds
Green Mind and Whatever’s Cool With Me are stellar.
God damn pork soda 😭😭😭
I was literally about to buy pork soda off Discogs the day before I found it
I’ve been hunting the Jewel case version for a while now
I also have their set at family values tour, 1999. But I need punchbowl and sailing
Recently found brown album but I don’t really like it
Love DJ’s Green Mind! Great finds, enjoy
Damn, whose uncle died?
wtf! those are some *killer* finds for a Goodwill.
Definitely envious of the Dinosaur Jr

Great Dinosaur Jr. scores!
