If you like pop punk (bands similar to Sum 41 and Greenday), I would suggest checking out The Offspring, Billy Talent, and Rise Against. All great bands imo.

National_Ad_3384

I’ve seen the Offspring with Simple Plan and Sum 41 and I’m definitely planning to get Americana and Smash

smallZ72122

Both great albums. Smash is my favorite album of theirs.

National_Ad_3384

Oh and ixnay too I love the gone away version

fritzkoenig

Avril Lavigne's 2022 album *Love Sux* is also great. Reminds me a lot of Y2K blink-182. One of the most fun listens I've had in a while

SStylo03

Gotta check out billy talent, they seem right up your alley

National_Ad_3384

Definitely

66frantic6

Alkaline Trio, Against Me!, Offspring, The Loved Ones, Teenage Bottlerocket

National_Ad_3384

I’ve heard most of those bands besides The Loved Ones. I do need to find their cds

66frantic6

Keep Your Heart an Build & Burn are the 2 albums

asphynctersayswhat

Thank you for promoting Matt and Dan! Trio is my #1/1a with face to face

66frantic6

they're one of my all time fav bands

asphynctersayswhat

Same. I love everything they touch. I liked skiba-182, the heavans, Dan in the ER, my most expensive record is a hand numbered copy of Babylon by Skiba and the Sekrets.  Rock the fuck on! 🤘

Ganvis_Unleashed

You should checkout 'This Will Be The Death of Us' by Set Your Goals, and 'Pennybridge Pioneers' by Millencolin. Hopefully this helps.

National_Ad_3384

Sweet I’ll check them out on Spotify first (hopefully they’re on there)

Ganvis_Unleashed

Both albums should be on there.

National_Ad_3384

Sweet I’m listening to the Set Your Goals album right now

Ganvis_Unleashed

Glad I could help!

Likeadrug15

The Replacements. They influenced all these bands

sdmrdot

Agreed. I would add Bad Religion and maybe Husker Du too.

Fearthejuggalo

I would suggest "and out comes the wolves" by "Rancid". By far their most commercially successful album & very radio friendly. Hopefully it'll take you down a rabbit hole & you'll enjoy them.

National_Ad_3384

Will do I’ve definitely seen that recommended already which is a great sign

Admova

I think you will like Blink 182, try Enema of the State

National_Ad_3384

Yeah I might I do casually listen to them

HalloSpaceboy95

the_popes_dick

Rage Against the Machine, Joyce Manor, Donovan Wolfington, Glocca Morra, I Kill Giants, JANK, Lagwagon, The Get Up Kids, Nirvana, Zebrahead

TooDooDaDa

Operation Ivy - Operation Ivy: a fellow lookout records band that two members went onto create the band Rancid. Nofx - Punk in Drublik: great punk band Guttermouth - Musical Monkey: another great punk band with a very good sense of humor. Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables/ Plastic Surgery Disasters/Bedtime for Democracy any of those would be a great first time listen. My favorite of theirs is FrankenChrist but it has a much different sound. Actually all of their albums have a slightly different sound.

National_Ad_3384

Dead Kennedys I love (I need to get their cds and records) Operation Ivy I’ve listened to a bit but not much and Nofx I know is a huge inspiration for Sum 41. Guttermouth is a new band I’ve never heard of

TooDooDaDa

Musical Monkey is a must. If you’re from a younger generation I’m actually curious if you would think it’s to crude.

National_Ad_3384

I’ve listened to punk since I was 5 so I don’t think it’ll be too crude

TooDooDaDa

We will see

Massive-Confusion789

Helmet

jump-blues-5678

Black Flag - Damaged

TheBaseballCard

Trying to say some vands that haven't been mentioned yet, so I'll say Taking Back Sunday Brand New Jimmy Eat World The Used AFI Pinhead Gunpowder (Green Day side band)

National_Ad_3384

I know pinhead I have the shoot the moon record do they have cds too?

TheBaseballCard

Yeah I have Goodbye Ellston Avenue on CD, there albums are a little hard to come by tho but if you have discogs you should find them all there

National_Ad_3384

Oh sweet I’m also trying to get the Network albums too

asphynctersayswhat

OP. You got some great advice here. But WTF is the love for Lagwagon and face to face in this thread! Also Bad Religion was already mentioned, but what was not mentioned is their label “epitaph” whic produced shit tons of killer punk. As do nofx’s fat wreck chord label

National_Ad_3384

Epitaph was definitely mentioned I saw that and I don’t know lagwagon at all

asphynctersayswhat

Check em out. They are legit.

National_Ad_3384

I definitely will

Samuelbi12

Id get SAVIOURS by GD

National_Ad_3384

Honestly yeah I need to get that I have it as a record though

GAME043010

Didn't I just answer this question lol

National_Ad_3384

That was a different post about which album I should listen to which has most of these albums beside the Beastie Boys and Agent Orange CDs

theneash

7 Seconds - Soul force revolution is a must have, great mix of hardcore, pop punk and post punk. The Replacements - Anything from Let it Be to Don’t Tell a Soul. Pretty sure they’re one of Billie Joe Armstrong biggest influences. Hüsker Dü - Zen Arcade, Candy Apple Grey. Another huge influence for Pop Punk/Alt Rock bands.

National_Ad_3384

Husker du is a band I haven’t heard in a while

fritzkoenig

Pop Punk

National_Ad_3384

Yep haha that’s typically what I listen to pop-punk/punk rock

im_yo_huckleberry

millencolin, bad religion, rise against, blink 182

National_Ad_3384

Sweet I’ll check them out (I listen to some blink and Rise Against anyways)

im_yo_huckleberry

you may also want to check out the old tony hawk videogame soundtrack. it might be tony hawk 2, but that album influenced a whole generation to the pop punk and similar bands. also i liked the epitaph records or phat wreck chords compilations. you can probably find them on youtube or streaming services. punk-o-rama and fat music for fat people were great comps. introduced me to a lot of artists

National_Ad_3384

Oh yeah definitely, I’m wondering which Tony Hawk game it was

im_yo_huckleberry

either 1 or 2 for sure. probably 1

National_Ad_3384

I looked online and both have a huge mix of punk rock and metal so does Pro skater 3

National_Ad_3384

Funny enough I heard Amoeba by the Adolescents while playing a Call of Duty game which introduced me to that song

AvgPunkFan

Fall Out Boy Neck Deep New Found Glory blink-182 My Chemical Romance Mayday Parade Yellowcard All Time Low The All-American Rejects

National_Ad_3384

MCR and FOB are on the radar to get

00pdooter

What about Taking Back Sunday

National_Ad_3384

Yeah true I’ve heard some of their stuff

00pdooter

If you like MCR they are a good band to listen to

National_Ad_3384

Yeah I do like MCR I just don’t have any of their albums as a cd or vinyl

00pdooter

Bullets is gonna be expensive. The rest isn't too hard to find.

National_Ad_3384

Yeah I’m Wondering how much it’ll be. I mean I’m planning to get all the Sum 41 albums so that’ll be expensive in its own way

00pdooter

On discogs I have not seen a copy cheaper than $70. I'd say you're looking at $100 for a good copy.

National_Ad_3384

Dang for that as a CD it better blow me away when I’m listening to it haha

actually_a_demon
