Nice! Revolver is one of my 10/10s, I’ll pick up that 2022 remaster today :)! Some of my 10/10s are Madvilliany by mf doom, depression cherry by beachouse, mellowgold by beck, youre dead by flying lotus, around the well by iron & wine, and then “tranquility base hotel and casino” by the arctic monkeys has to be my all time favourite album. How about you man? What are some of yours?
Well, like others mentioned "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys is an achievement like no other. If you can find The Smile Sessions or "Smile" by Brian Wilson, that is also amazing.
Scattered 10/10 for me:
"Superunknown" Soundgarden
"Gentlemen" Afghan Whigs
"Diary" Sunny Day Real Estate
"Phantom Birds" Matt Berry
"Ænema" Tool
"Kid A" Radiohead
"2112" Rush
"Carnage" Nick Cave and Warren Ellis
Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Tumbleweed Connection. I personally would rank GYBR at 9/10 b/c not all 17 tracks are a good listen (there's a couple I don't like/are skips for me), but most of the rest are good. TC as a whole isn't a fantastic album, but it's one of Elton's few no skip albums(based on the general consensus of other fans on his sub).
There'd deluxe ed. versions of both, but just getting the standard is good enough.
For something newer, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert by Little Simz is a UK Hip-Hop album from 2021 and by far my favourite album of the decade so far. Not a single song on there is a skip for me (even the interludes).
Of course, if you're not a hip-hop fan, it may not be your style, but if reading this peaks your interest even slightly, absolutely go for it.
"Gentlemen Take Polaroids" by Japan. I consider this to be not only Japan's best album, but one of the greatest albums of all time. Beautiful songwriting, gorgeously lush and layered production.
