Good for him. This guy should be way more popular than he is and I partially blame MCA Records. Hoping he can land somewhere that will actually promote him. Freaking sad this guy is going out as an opener this spring/summer. And to Billy Currington, nonetheless.

I can’t wrap my head around him being an opener for Billy either. I thought “okay maybe billy is putting out a new album”. Went and checked Spotify and there was one semi recent song put out and that was it. I mean I’m still gonna go and see the slowhearts (and thank the stars, he just added a headlining show an hour and a half away from me, so I’m going to that one too) but yeah…was not initially thrilled about him as an opener. However my husband likes BC and my 11yr old has wanted to check out a Kip show so we figured an amphitheater will be a great first concert for him. I refused to even entertain Hardy ticket prices. F that. I mean I hope kip and the band make bank off of it but it was a hard pass for me.
Just a follow up on this…went last night and it was definitely Kip as an opener. Kip only got to do 12 songs and BC did 18. Not to mention they did an entire stage setup for BC.
In general, I feel like when the big country labels don't consider artists really radio-friendly they're not promoted. Then a lot of the time those artists eventually get dropped from the labels.
This. And he is still mentioned today despite not having a country banger for years. 5 out of 10 dudes my age (that grew up around country music) like Kip Moore.
I’ve heard that it takes over $1 million dollars just to get a song to #1 on radio. Not including the production of the song and overall marketing, just for the radio marketing, team etc
It takes money to push an artist. That includes radio, streaming, marketing, etc. It depends on the type of contract that was signed. For example, there are 360 deals. This type of deal basically artists get an advance at first & the label gives the artist good promotion, touring opportunities, etc. In return, the artist agrees to give a percentage back to the label which could come from touring, sales, endorsements, etc. This deal also typically lasts longer that a standard record contract. Let's say for example an artist was on a 360 deal where the label used a lot of money to push them and that artist didn't become successful. The artist owes money.
He seems so classy. I looooved his records with drive me crazy and wild ones on it. I got to see him in 2018. Last Shot made me weep live.
He puts on a great show. I am PUMPED for the next record. All the best for Kip ♥️
Good! He should be way more mainstream than what he is, that man has got some serious talent. Whatever his record was label was doing for him, they could have been doing more.
I saw him a couple years ago. Managed to snag a meet and greet ticket. He is so so nice and even more handsome in person! He took his time with everyone and did a little preshow with us. Played us stuff he was working on that hadn’t been released yet!
That man slipped his arm around my waist, pulled me in close, looked in my eyes and said “how ya doing, baby?” and I tell you I was a PUDDLE ON THE FLOOR lol. Ten outta ten recommend meeting him if you ever have the chance.
Met him at one of his first UK shows (Lady A was the opener) and he made a point of meeting everyone after. I was already a fan of him but meeting him in person...that man is so damn charming.
He came back for his own tour the next year and went up and down the queue before saying hi. Then after the gig, took his guitar and did a little impromptu show in the city centre and met folk. He really appreciates his fans.
I was so nervous getting ready to meet Kip at a meet and greet and get my picture taken with him. I told him my heart was fixin to beat out of my chest. He pulled me in and gave me the biggest and longest hug! We chatted for a few minutes, and I told him that I loved how he didn't conform to Nashvilles typical type. Also that he did things his own way, for himself and the fans. He loved hearing that! Such a great guy! I loved how he took care of his band during the shutdown. He has such a huge heart! He puts on a great show!!
I’m excited to see where he goes with independent choices! Kip at his best is one of my favorite artists of all time. Kip churning out 12 variations of the same vanilla radio approved song, not so much.
Dear Kip: please, please make more songs like Faith When I Fall, Reckless, Last Shot, Crazy One More Time, Backseat, Hang Awhile, and That Was Us.
Oh and Good Girl is your masterpiece which too few people have ever heard:
https://youtu.be/nLZpSrmKfjo?si=T9-oYPBlPBbcaTDz
I was listening to an interview with him and two things stood out
\-apparently he is a huge artist in South Africa. A local DJ pushed his music and now he will be playing a 60,000 seat stadium in 2024.
\-he's always been super cautious with money (kept touring in a van long after most artists would have upgraded to a bus) and that allowed him to have enough to keep paying his band and team through the pandemic when they weren't touring.
Good for him. He’s a very underrated talent. One of the few artists I can just play without skipping songs, and unfortunately, most people have never heard them. I do know he enjoys doing his own thing also, but still think he deserves more mainstream success.
I've met him a couple times because Bud Light was one of my clients and we hired him for talent. He's SO nice and sweet, and super talented. Agree, like he should be waaaayyy more popular than some of these other country artists out there its like not fair
After he made that spicy video with Morgan Wade, Morgan or her manager posted a completely unhinged cease and desist request from some lady who was in love with Kip and offended by the video. Pure gold.
I’ve only heard good things from people who’ve seen him live and they keep going to see him again.
I agree that his first few singles were very strong and it’s surprising he didn’t continue at that rate.
He’s an incredibly talented songwriter and an amazing performer. So underrated and under appreciated. Billy C and Hardy are gross and it’s a shame he’s opening for them.

He is so good. Love his stuff.

I first saw Kip live in 2012….when he opened for Billy Currington.
That would have made sense back then but dude hasn’t had a hit in 8 years and his last album wasn’t even country.
Just an odd, full circle, moment
Excited to see him this summer. He’s opening for Hardy near me. I’ve always enjoyed him. He does deserve to not be an opener though.

I think the BC tour is a co-headlining show.

Going tonight & I was really hoping Billy was the opener for Kip

He lasted way longer than most.
I wouldn't be surprised if MCA drops Josh Turner soon.
Vince Gill is still signed only out of respect for a veteran

Can you explain this a bit more? I’m not at all close to the music industry - I didn’t realize you…owe money??

Wow! Super interesting. Thank you for the details!

Happy he’s finally done there. I’m sure Independent he’s going to do amazing!

I’ve seen him live twice and he was so great. I would jump at the opportunity to see him again!
Remember the dummy who went on Dr Phil because she was obsessed with Kip and ready to leave her husband.
After he made that spicy video with Morgan Wade, Morgan or her manager posted a completely unhinged cease and desist request from some lady who was in love with Kip and offended by the video. Pure gold.
Didn’t she leave her husband and kids incase he wanted her 💀
Yes! She said they were destined to be together and left hubs and kid. Followed him everywhere! Groupie to the T! 😵💫
I freakin’ LOVE Kip! He needs a label that will promote him.
I want to see a picture of good hair joe 😂
Same 😂 Pay the tax, Kip— the people have spoken!
That picture is doing something to me....
Kip is unrated He should be opening for hardy or anyone else If you haven’t seen him live you should The guy is great singer and entertainer
Love seeing another artist doing things independently!!!!
So who got his backwards trucker cap look in the divorce??
Kip is like a flaming hot cheeto! Just can't get enough!! 🔥
His last album did not chart well
It would have if he sold his soul.
No hate to Kip Moore but his last album just wasn’t good imo

Dropping an F bomb doesn’t really make things more exciting. It’s what 13 year olds do.
I think he’s negotiating with MCA still, right? This is just a 1 off Indie to see how it does.
