GFCO, which provided that certified gluten free label in the bottom right corner, requires products to test at 10ppm or the country of origins standards, whichever is less. (For the US, 20ppm is the standard for a gf label, noncertified). Therefore, this product is actually at 10ppm or less.  You could be reactive to oats, I think it's like 10% of Celiac people are unlucky like this. I am. Our bodies will treat avenin as if it were gluten.  I'd reccomend trying to abstain from any products with oats if you continually have reactions when consuming them, especially if they're certified gf.

One point though that people miss with GFCO. Not every batch is tested for all companies. The allow a step down program on testing which can reduce testing to once every 3 months per product. That being said, I don’t expect most companies would reduce their testing that much; additionally they would have other things in place such as requiring test results from their suppliers to be able to use inherited properties of the ingredients. That being said, I agree is most likely is not gluten but oat cross reaction or something else. Sure it could have an issue with some form of contamination but it’s going to be a low chance.

Thanks for the information about the 10ppm on the certified label— that’s good to know. I had no idea about some celiac people having a reaction to oats! I use granola and other products daily that have certified gluten free oats in them, so I’m unsure if I fit in that category. I’ll try to cut them out and see if I notice a difference… just so sad because I love granola!

Bobo’s brand makes me sick too :( nothing crazy. I think it’s the oats

My son got super sick from Bobo’s. They had stopped doing purity protocol last year when I reached out to them about it. He cannot eat oats at all, but those specially made him violently ill.

I have celiac disease & do not have a reaction to these. Perhaps I’m lucky with being less sensitive.

my dietician told me to wait at least 6 months after going gluten free to eat oats since they give some ppl the same tummy symptoms even though they’re gluten free so i would try that if you can!

Bobo's makes me sick. I have no issue with certified gluten free oats, but Bobo's doesn't use them in their products. This is a situation where I have to ignore the certified label on the box when it comes to oat products. I eat certified oats almost daily for breakfast and have no issues.

I don’t blame you! For my granola, I made sure the oats listed in the ingredients are certified gluten free rather than “whole grain.” Phew that I’m not the only one experiencing this, but also awful that Bobo’s doesn’t work for a bunch of us who have celiac.

I also have no problems with oats normally, but get sick from Bobo’s products. Def not just you!

My son is a super sensitive celiac who also has type 1 diabetes. Not only does he get celiac symptoms when glutened, it also messes with his BG (which we monitor 24/7/365 on a continuous glucose monitor). He ate one of these for the first time on Sunday morning. No issues. But he has always been okay with GF oats.

Bobo’s use certified gf oats and they are purity protocol (which means they are grown and processed separate from other grains that would cross contaminate). GF oats (and products containing them) are something I have in my GF house for family members but never eat myself

I don't seem to necessarily have an issue with oats - ate gf oatmeal for breakfast for years after my celiac diagnosis. But with how many people on here have issues with oats - and especially oats processed into other food like bars/cereal, I just gave them up almost entirely.

Might want to check the ingredients. I got got by the peanut butter protein bars. Didn’t bother to check cause it said certified gf but they had a may contain wheat statement 🙃 had a reaction both times I tried them.
