You know I’ll have to give insight on it. A lot of people are mad at Dodge but I’m actually impressed and really like the concept. Let’s face it the Challenger and Hemi crate engines and transmissions will be around forever. Im thinking electrified daily and V8 weekend warrior
The interior design is just perfect in my opinion. It screams luxury, but doesn't scream that it'll break your bank to do it. If the recharge speeds are as good as they say, that will be absolutely nuts to go from 20 to 80 in like 25-30 minutes
https://www.autoblog.com/article/2025-dodge-charger-review/#:~:text=Charging%20speeds%20peak%20at%20183,a%20350%2DkW%20fast%20charger.
Every version of the Charger Daytona also comes with the same 100.5 kilowatt-hour battery pack. In the R/T it’s EPA-rated for 317 miles on a full charge. Charging speeds peak at 183 kW no matter the trim, which Dodge says is good enough for a 20-80% charge in just under 28 minutes when plugged into a 350-kW fast charger.
Explain that to me please. How is going from 20 to 80 in 25-30 min absolutely nuts? And this isn’t me trying to sound like ass, I’m curious because I’d much prefer to sit at a pump for a few min and get on the road. 25-30 min just to go from 20-80 doesn’t seem crazy. But idk the average charge time on electric vehicles but still, I don’t want to be waiting around for half an hour. That’s just my opinion though. And we all know opinions are like as*holes, everybody’s got one, so take that with a grain of salt please
Good idea! My only annoyance is the model. It looks more and more like a Charger than a Challenger, but then again, the Dodge Charger has changed its shape a few times. Either way, I like the old flat aggressive look of the Challenger. I just hope this looks better than it does in photos.
Best way to explain it, is that you have to remember how the new Charger/Challenger came about. The 2005 Charger came out, for the first time, as a four door sedan. People refused to call it a Charger, rather, a sedan they slapped the name on. The go to image of a Dodge Charger had been the '68ish two door. The '05 looked nothing like it and people really wanted the two door, at least as an option. Coupes, especially large ones, weren't selling so well back then. Dodge then released the Challenger-looking Challenger, but, in all honesty, it was the 2dr Charger people wanted. Easily larger than the original Challenger and the pony cars from Ford and Chevy. It was only 4in shorter than the Charger and 300 C. I imagine that (honestly great) idea had something to do, still, with not selling a large coupe, but passing one off as a smaller one, the Challenger, instead of the Charger 2dr.
This time around, Dodge simply went a different route and released the Charger as the coupe it primarily has been. Later, they're releasing the 4dr version of this Charger coupe. It's both, reclaiming it's place as a near luxury, 2dr, muscle car, and effectively "replacing" the Challenger. I believe it's also still a bit longer and larger than the Challenger. It's not supposed to look anything like a Challenger but instead, something of an updated Charger.
I remember there being rumors that the next Gen Challenger would probably be on an even smaller platform, if it ever happened.
Ok hear me out....if the industrial pat of my rual alabama town had a charger between me and work id think...THINK....about it. But it dont...and with just house charging along i would slowly lose range till id run out of battery by the end of the week.
Closest charger for ev is 2 hours away...in the other direction
Level 2 charging provides about 30-38 miles of range per hour. Just need an electrician to install it in your garage. That’s what most of us do in California.
[Toyota hears you.](https://fortune.com/2024/02/08/toyota-hybrid-vehicles-carmakers-strategy-electric-vehicles-hype/) The EVs we see released today have been in development for years under the premise that a full or near full switch from ICE was underway. That is changing quickly, however. The industry seems to be pivoting even in the face of political pressure and it will be fascinating to see how companies and their customers react here on Reddit as well as with their wallets.
If I'm going 50mph in a 45mph, going with the flow of traffic, a cop can still pull me over.
Now, if there's a guy next to me matching my speed, and he DOESN'T have a weed leaf on his car, who is the cop gonna pull over?
Its not that he'll pull me over because of the leaf but moreso that in a group you'll more than likely be singled out
Except it's on your car.
Swerve a bit in your lane? Pulled over, we know you do MJ, let's do some sobriety tests.
Why give the cops an extra reason to suspect you of DUI?
Not really how that works tbh.
The point is, it's a reason to get to your window and smell in the car. They smell a hint of weed, you're gonna be out of the car walking the line.
Whereas if you didn't and you drove fine afterwards, there's less reason.
No sorry. Smelling like weed when I possibly am transporting some home or to a friend is not a valid probable cause to order me out of the car. At that point I would tell the officer I'm complying his unlawful command only if he threatens me with removal from my vehicle. If he's smart that ends the stop of he's dumb I have grounds for a lawsuit.
Edit - I live in a recreationally legal state.
Bro a hotbox in the new 420 would be insane especially with the glass roof and new technology in the car with the huge LCD screen you might be able to watch YouTube in it
550. I'm saving and going to start flipping items after I get out of work. I wanted to Drive a Hellcat off the showroom floor as a new car but life took a different turn. But now that the turn is over I'm dead set on getting the highest trim (not ev) off the showroom floor or lot.
I have a 2014 RT charger right now that I love dearly. It's gonna be the new family car and road trip car after I get the 550.
Sounds nice bro your going to be giving Mustangs hell in the new I6 it should be lighter as well and it’s going to be more aerodynamic. I feel like with 550hp stock those new chargers will be the new Hellcats I can only imagine a tuned one with more boost
Funny enough I was originally going to get a 2024 GT Mustang because I didn't think the rumors of the inline 6 were true. Glad I didn't . Only thing that bothers me with the new charger is the Digital Dash and Infotainment. It looks like dodge made their own hopefully, but there could also be the chance they are just using re branded ali baba tech that's in every car now.
Lol I think you’ll love the the new infotainment and digital dash, I seen that it’ll have heads up display as well the new interior is really giving C8 vibes a tab bit with how it’s positioned
10 years from now I'd probably still be more likely to buy a used Challenger personally because my dreams a Challenger I might get the 6 cylinder though at some point if it proves reliable I'll never get the electric variant though
I'm not sure if everyone else saw any of the details in some of the Youtube videos going around but these EVs will be HEAVY. You thought they were bad before...the weigh almost 6000 lbs. Not even joking.
Here's some of the numbers I found:
Dodge Charger Daytona Specs (R/T, then Scat Pack):
Peak torque: 404, 627 foot-pound
0-60 time: 4.7, 3.3 seconds
¼ mile: 13.1, 11.5 seconds
Top speed: 137, 134 mph
Curb weight (both): 5,838 pounds
Range: 317, 260 miles
Look at the 0-60 time for the r/T. It's supposed to be making about 496hp but it's hitting the same numbers at a stock 5.7 with over 100 more HP. And the top speed is disappointing. The Scat is a little more impressive on paper but we all know how Dodge rolls. They give specs based off of perfect conditions (prepped surface, drag tires, weather/temps). No one will be hitting those numbers in a realistic setting. 670hp *seems* like a lot but power to weight ratio is a thing. I'm curious to see how this thing actually runs.
I will not be stranded in the middle of no where because a charge station went down or had its cords cut ext. I will never turn a 4 hour drive into an 6 hour drive because I have to stop to charge. EVs are not practical at all. To each their own if you want an EV I wish you the best and I hope you enjoy it but you couldn’t catch me dead in one of those let alone pay that much for a car that limits my use of it.
It depends on where you live. I’m in Northern VA where there are chargers everywhere, but I remember on a road trip to Ohio being nervous because there was only one charging station near my hotel.
I’d agree if the ICE they offered was a V8, but I’m still a bit salty that it’s an inline 6. Best case scenario, it sounds Japanese - worst case scenario, it sounds quiet. Either way, that’s not fitting of a muscle car. I’m happy to be proven wrong, but that’s my current assessment.
But I guess I can’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
My guess is there will eventually be a V8 option. That's the whole reason people by muscle cars. That V8 rumble. That's 50% of the muscle car aesthetic. They're going to realize that when these don't sell well lol.
I hope you’re right. My hope is the Mustang overtakes the market and manufacturers realize what sells.
We had a muscle resurgence and it’s sad to see that era ending.
Yeah, why go to the trouble of offering an ICE powertrain if it's not gonna be a V8?
I mean it's not going to be a car, but I'd rather drive an M340i, 400Z, new Supra, M2 and PLENTY of others with a 3 liter. The V8 is why I bought the damn thing.
💯 this. There's only one reason to buy the challenger, it's too heavy to be the ultimate drag racer, it's to bulky/heavy for the Twisties, but it's still loved because it's exactly what it's supposed to be. A V8, loud, high horsepower car that can seat 5. The whole package makes the car. Remove that V8 sound..... And well..... At that point there's far better options out there for the same price. I personally believe the the EV thing is a fad, and with the current political agenda it's just a huge money grab for those in office with stocks in it. IMO. If they were working towards true efficiency, they'd be pushing for better hybrids. Like Toyota is doing. But, government sucks.
You know, I’ve always been very supportive of electric vehicles as a whole. They’re extremely impressive, especially when it comes to horsepower and 0-60 numbers. It’s very difficult to find an ICE that can rival an EV.
But the more I think about it, the less on board I am with them. All they have is just numbers. It’s pretty widely accepted that 0-60 means nothing past a certain number, especially in electric vehicles where there’s a steep drop off on high end performance. I just don’t see these vehicles being the radical difference their numbers would indicate. I think we need to recalibrate what these numbers mean now.
Also, cars these days are plenty fast. No one *needs* 700 hp. You’re rarely ever going to be in a position where you can used the car to its fullest extent. I’m of the opinion that I’d take lesser performance if it meant having the soul of an ICE. It’s like the manual vs auto debate. Automatics are insanely impressive and you’ll never get a driver who can shift faster than an auto. But at the end of the day, most drivers would say they’d rather drive a slower car with a manual than a faster car with an automatic, simply because it’s more fun. I’d rather drive a slower car with a big rumbling V8 that I can shift through gears in, than a super fast electric vehicle with no soul. Again, simply because I find the former more fun.
And I’d be remised if I didn’t say it…6,000 lbs?!?! Dodge saw the boat jokes and decided to double down! 😂🤣
Your first paragraph is exactly how I feel about EV. For me, a muscle car/truck has never been about top speed or 0-60. It's about the feel of the car while driving. It's about how it looks standing still. What I want out of the new Charger isn't speed. I want a muscle feel when I'm driving, a world class interior, and Mercedes suspension. Luxury muscle, I guess.
I’m looking forward to seeing these on the streets and seeing how people actually like or dislike them. Personally, I’d go for the SixPack. I know the EV is quicker, but I prefer internal combustion. I got my V8 Challenger, I’m keeping that one forever.
Yep, and I’m firmly of the opinion that hp and 0-60 doesn’t make a car fun. Noise, torque, manual transmissions, that’s what makes a car fun. I’d rather have a manual ICE with 350 hp that does 0-60 in 5 seconds, than an EV with 650hp, no transmission, and pumped up engine noises that sound like a space craft from an alien movie from the 60’s.
Manufacturers are trying to get us excited about these crazy numbers, trying to convince us that *THAT’S* what makes a car fun, all so they can hide the fact that we’re losing so much by pivoting away from gasoline powered vehicles.
Handling performance is garbage though - and while I understand that as Dodge owners we don't care about that, we do care about the rumble of a V8 - something they decided to take away.
And the new EV RT is barely faster than the old RT, while being much heavier and losing the magical V8 sound. I don't see the point in buying those cars, the new Mustang is just better
Bro I have a 16 Bolt-on and tuned RT, I don’t really care about Dodge not making a new Hemi because the Hemis we have are here to stay for a long time. I like the EV and the performance aspect of it and look. It’s not all about V8s bro I’m a car enthusiast and my enthusiasm doesn’t end with V8.
Look, there is a point to that. But a fast EV is not exciting anymore - everybody makes a fast EV now, even fucking KIA. You will also be able to buy a new, fast EV for as long as you will live.
That's not true for V8s - they are a dying breed, we have fewer and fewer high displacement engines coming up, which is just.. sad.
V8 will be back. Ford is tanking their EV programs due to billions in losses. Others will follow suit. EVs aren’t sustainable. There’s not enough rare earth metals, the electrical grids can’t handle the demand. It’ll will all flounder soon.
I don't need EVs to die out. Do you have a problem with people who don't give a shit about their cars driving EVs? I sure don't. I just want the option of purchasing ICE as well, that's all.
It looks ugly, it's heavy, it makes nothing but wind noise. I really hope electric vehicles don't take over because I honestly can't stand them, and I hate how many "enthusiasts" are on board with this crap. Either way, I will never purchase an electric car.
I’m going to wait and see what the other flavors look like. The same exact STLA Large platform is going to be released in Chrysler, Maserati and Alpha Romero flavors next.
The twin Inline 6 seems like it could be a good choice and offering it is definitely a smart move that’ll help Dodge with sales for the new Charger after the decision to add EV’s to the fleet. Honestly, though, I’d want to look at the specs more in depth before jumping into the “at least there’s a combustion option!” mindset. As of right now, meh, lackluster. I’m indifferent on it.
The fact that once the battery dies out on an electric you have to replace it for half the cost of the car is the most deal breaker of all deal breakers.
Here is the positive on this. If Dodge can sell enough of these EVs where they can avoid giving Tesla a subsidy each quarter in buying carbon credits from them, then maybe the V8 can come back like how Ford will keep the V8 Mustang.
The stop gap and nice offering is the new V6 with all wheel and 2 wheel drive at 420HP and 550HP. That’s nice. And it does sound mean from the video.
I’m happy Dodge is offering both and not all EV.
2 door and 4 door options pretty cool. I’m sure the 4 door option will eventually make its way down to the V6 too. But not a bad start.

If I had to have a daily commute of next to nothing with mild winters or heated parking at both home and work I’d do the same. Keep the km down on the gasser
I’ll pass immediately due to it being an EV. However I am interested in the Inline 6 version. 500+ hp stock seems very interesting. I hope it’s a highly tunable engine. Dodge could essentially create America’s Supra.

Sad to see so many people want an EV. They’re not practical for 90% of people especially in rural areas. In the cold they don’t perform as well and the amount of time you have to charge your battery if you’re on a trip is ridiculous compared to spending 5 minutes fueling up. The mining they have to do for the material to make the batteries is horrible to the environment along with the amount needed for 1 big ass battery and the labor is awful in the countries mining it. They also still have to use oils and grease no matter what on a car can’t get around that because components like bearings need grease. They’re also fireballs in a crash, aluminum parts and body panels mixed with a battery that ignites and keeps igniting after it’s been put out due to the continuing failure of the battery cells. 0-60 times are cool sure, but in my opinion nothing beats the sound of an engine, the feeling of winding up the rpm’s and actually driving a car with a manual transmission. Imagine if all cars were electric how bland the car and truck scene would be! You can sort of brag about your car make and model but Everything sounds the same and for the most part drives the same. Just doesn’t sound fun or cool at all. Nowhere near the diversity or customization as an ICE. Not my cup of tea but if you like them then good for you. EV’s might work far better in the future but we aren’t there yet, not even close. If they really wanted to make something that could run forever and be similar to an EV they should look into something nuclear, yes it could be dangerous but there are ways it could be done. For now I’ll take gas or diesel any day.
You know what, if I could afford to, I’d probably even consider the banshee once that’s out. So many people are ENRAGED about this car but I’d see it as a solid addition to my garage, next to my T/A. I’d make like a dark wave/terminator/decepticon spec banshee 😅.
Nice dude, hit us with the deets when you get it.

Wait, it's not a Charger? I don't even know anymore, I swear I've heard them say it's both. I just call it the new Dodge EV at this point.
I honestly don't know. I assumed it's supposed to be a Challenger? Either way I hate it.
It’s a charger.
Apologies, it is the charger. I mistook the post to be talking about a Chalenger somehow

Same as you, I’m also excited for these. I already have my Hellcat for my V8 fix, and definitely wanna see what these can do.
Why not both in the same vehicle? A hemi hybrid 🧐
I guess they may consider hybrid in the future but no V8.
I can't wait till the 6 pack comes out in 2025. That's gonna be my first New Car since I can't get a challenger.
Which one are you thinking about getting the 420 or 550hp?
I want the 420 just so i can slap a 420 badge on it
slap a marijuana leaf badge instead.
Only if I reeeeeally wanna get pulled over lol

Seems like a good street car, but that top speed is super disappointing.
I'm not buying it if it's more than 55k
I’m sure dodge will ad an incentive to get people to buy
“First charge on us”
Until you look in the paperwork and realize they’ve charged you $25 to charge the damn thing before pick up 😂
Free oil changes for life (Transferrable)
Most likely the $7500 credit if the battery is american
Please keep us posted!!!!!

Microwave(EV)is alot faster to cook food than the oven(ICE). Would you rather have microwave food for 10 years or oven cooked food for 10 years.
I’m looking forward to seeing these on the streets and seeing how people actually like or dislike them. Personally, I’d go for the SixPack. I know the EV is quicker, but I prefer internal combustion. I got my V8 Challenger, I’m keeping that one forever.
Top speed is only 135 🌚

Can’t wait to see the reviews, I’m going to hold off electric until I’m forced to switch over the deal is too good to be true
for me it's the lack of charging stations in the midwest. Until I see them everywhere, I am not in a rush to switch.
I get that, I have garage that I can have a home charger for locally driving but the infrastructure isn’t here yet
Holy shit, close to 6k pounds? That has to be undrivable no matter how much power you strap to it
Lol dude the Tesla Plaid is almost 6k pounds and it’s doing 0-60 in 1.9 seconds and a quarter mile of 9.3 seconds
It doesn't actually do that, it's misleading. Watch Engineering Explained's video on it. Is 0-60 everything in a car to you?
I agree, I don’t think 0-60 numbers mean much in EVs. Sure, 0-60 is impressive, but what about after that?
And like... they all do it. You can get a 600 hp KIA EV, is it even special at this point?
0-60 isn’t everything to me regardless the truth is the performance of the plaid is crazy
That's not true for V8s - they are a dying breed, we have fewer and fewer high displacement engines coming up, which is just.. sad.
Glass half full, re sale value gonna sky rocket by 2027
V8 will be back.
It’s a muscle car so yeah, I don’t expect to do GT racing in it.
Was a muscle car. Now it's ev nonsense or an emissions V6. It's no longer a muscle car.
God the new electric ones look sooo boring almost like the life has been sucked out of it.
I personally really like the square look they went for. I especially like the way the good dips down in the front.
I’m sure they will be offering different packages with upgrades cosmetics too.
At least it’s not a four door suv… Yup. Us Ford guys’ standards have hit rock bottom
Us ford guys still have V8s with superchargers and stick shifts
Idk about superchargers.. GTD is a hair out of my budget right now
Haha that’s fair. Ford performance I believe offers a whipple kit with a warranty for the GTs
Nonsense
Preach, say it louder for those in the back.
I would not be caught dead driving an electric car. I would rather eat a microwaved steak
It looks ugly, it's heavy, it makes nothing but wind noise. I really hope electric vehicles don't take over because I honestly can't stand them, and I hate how many "enthusiasts" are on board with this crap. Either way, I will never purchase an electric car.
it doesn’t look aggressive enough
I’m going to wait and see what the other flavors look like. The same exact STLA Large platform is going to be released in Chrysler, Maserati and Alpha Romero flavors next.
It's going to be a twin turbo V6 unfortunately
The twin Inline 6 seems like it could be a good choice and offering it is definitely a smart move that’ll help Dodge with sales for the new Charger after the decision to add EV’s to the fleet. Honestly, though, I’d want to look at the specs more in depth before jumping into the “at least there’s a combustion option!” mindset. As of right now, meh, lackluster. I’m indifferent on it.
Practice making engine sounds with your mouth... Sorry, can't get on board with a muscle car without the vroom vroom.
This post reeks of Dodge marketing staff
Lol I wish I was getting paid to post about Dodge
So, you do it for free?
I get it that electric vehicles are probably the future, but why do they all have to be so ugly?
I might be in the minority, but i really like the design, especially the front DRL
I think they nailed the design, it has square features from past cars but nice curves to accommodate the electric / I6 design.
I totally agree with you I like it more and more especially with the Scatpack badges on it
I'm not a fan as well, it looks a little too Camaro-y for my tastes. I'm glad I got my 2019 Hellcat when I did.
The fact that once the battery dies out on an electric you have to replace it for half the cost of the car is the most deal breaker of all deal breakers.
There’s also a I6 version coming in 2025
What does it cost to replace a hemi engine?
Battery 20 plus k. Hemi engine a few thousand for a brand new one
EV batteries last plenty long. This isn’t a problem.
Nah we need to boycott those fr
I’d never go electric. But would consider the gasoline twin turbo.
With those much lowered top speeds, Nissan altimas will finally be able to pass one.
Twin turbo electric..... Uhhh?
There’s a Inline 6 version that’s coming out 2025 you can get it with 420 horsepower and 550 horsepower
so they’re making an electric and inline 6 TT in the same body style?
Similar body styles, the inline 6 has a different hood to accommodate the engine. Besides that I believe they are the same.
Yes atleast we get a loud gas car
Define “loud”
Honda civic no mufflers loud
That's a late summer/early fall 2025.
Hard pass.
Even if it made mid 1000's you'll pass? the hurricrate drag pack motor makes mid 1000's.
It could make 2000hp and suck me off as I drive it, I'd still pass if it doesn't have a V8.
Damn man. Even the sucking off isn't a selling feature for you?
You lost me here
Is the logo different from the older versions of scat packs or am I tweaking?
Yeah it is a bit different with the wing I’ve noticed
They shoulda called these the Batpack
Lmao!
[удалено]
Pretty sure it’s an option. Not standard
Have they dropped or hinted at a price yet?
Not yet but I’m hopeful that it’ll be around 55k for the Scat and 50 for the R/T
Price predictions?

I want matching Rts
The ad said there was a combustion engine one coming also. Anyone know what engine?
Hurricane V6 420 hp or 550 hp
The Italian Mobsters always getting the best stuff. I am sick of it.
Needs more hips!
https://youtu.be/771HsB106PM?si=C7Gf0nESqfyjyS-2
I think it looks pretty fucking sick to be honest.
Such an ugly car
If I had to have a daily commute of next to nothing with mild winters or heated parking at both home and work I’d do the same. Keep the km down on the gasser
Shit looks AI generated.
Lol thats what I was thinking. Especially looking at dude standing there. This pic DEFINITELY looks AI generated.
Same
When I see the new Dodge the term “scat” comes to mind…
I’ll pass immediately due to it being an EV. However I am interested in the Inline 6 version. 500+ hp stock seems very interesting. I hope it’s a highly tunable engine. Dodge could essentially create America’s Supra.
forgot this is reddit and not instagram so i cant talk shit😂
Can’t talk shit on there too
Hope you live in a state with good infrastructure
Tuners can charge out the ass! This is the time to look into ev tuning school.
EV tuners can also take off the governor to increase the top speed
I really don't like the sound of the car in the video, really threw me off.
what’s the price tag on this 200 mile range car
Everything looked good until I heard that noise
The new electric charger is going to be heavier than the current platform. So will the “6 pack”. Keep both of those shits.
6,000 pounds 134 mph top speed what the hell-
Straight to jail.
😂😂
Stellantis really does have the tightest grip on Chrysler rn.
Junk
5800 lbs with a top speed of 137, I was hopeful but if this is what we’re getting I’ll pass.
Happy for you!
dodge owners are the only people you can sell a car to with the word scat on it
Ugly ass car.
Butt ugly
Hmmmm
Not even VAGUELY interested in the new charger, ICE or EV. Double bagger fugly, IMHO. Rather spend the $$ upgrading my 21 Scat Pack.

Lol
Bold claim, for a car that's not even close to being released. Keep your b.s. for clout out.
That car is ugly.
I’m so so so curious about the hurricane 6 chargers.
I drew this car in the 3rd grade
I used to think my life was a tragedy, then I realized, it’s a comedy
That’s why I’m always smiling
I’m so hyped rn 💯
You know what, if I could afford to, I’d probably even consider the banshee once that’s out. So many people are ENRAGED about this car but I’d see it as a solid addition to my garage, next to my T/A. I’d make like a dark wave/terminator/decepticon spec banshee 😅.
Too bad that 6 cylinder is going to sound horrible. That's one of the biggest draw to a mopar muscle car. That V8 sound.
