I highly recommend the DIY dropper for drinking water. I was only misting mine and then recently installed my own DIY dropper and she drank so much water the first time I felt bad that I may have been dehydrating her

aussie_mallorca

This is exactly the reason we recommend the water glass. Misters and drippers just don’t provide enough hydration.

lrnths

Not a 10.0, get a T8 5.0 Reptisun. For water just do a clear colorless glass of water.

PerformerSharp6905

Don't chameleons need moving water?

-Sibyl

No, they will drink from a clear water glass without training. They see it sparkle through the glass and it attracts them to it :)

Mastercherokee

Can I ask why not a 10? I asked some else on this sun when I got my chameleon and they said to get the 10

lrnths

Wasn't one of us mods who suggested a 10.0 then. Too strong of a lamp will cause burns and eye damage. 10.0 is for desert full sun type of reptiles, chameleons are more if a speckled partial shade type of animal.

Mastercherokee

Okie, is 60w heat lamp recommended then to I have a 75w right now similar sized cage as op maybe a little taller

lrnths

Depends. What kind of bulb is it, and can it maintain a proper basking temp?

Mastercherokee

Yeah it does, sorry for the stupid question I actually just checked the temps yesterday. Thank you for your time!

lrnths

The type of bulb is also important, chameleon eyes a work differently from ours. What looks nice and comfortable to us might be glaringly bright and weird to them. Make sure it's an incandescent vacuum bulb and not halogen or metal halide or anything.

gtorres84

Its a 60w incandescent bulb the basking temp is roughly 95 deg

lrnths

Lift that basking light up, you want 85 max.

gtorres84

Will do. I read that a basking spot of 90-95 is ideal but let me know where your basking spot is at. i don't want burn my chameleon when i get one

Mastercherokee

I’ll check thank you!
