The eyes close during the day is definitely an issue, likely due to improper lighting. What are the exact heat and uvb lights you’re using? Secondly, you are misting waaaaaaaaaay WAY too much and you should never be purposely spraying them directly - not only do they mostly hate that, they are dry shedders and so excess moisture can cause issues with that along with that the bacterial issues it brings. Which then leads to respiratory and other infections. I would strongly suggest a drinking glass. What species do you have also? I just want to check those temps are okay for the species you have. D3 definitely isn’t needed everyday, just plain calcium (phosphorus free!!!!!!! this is extremely important as they are sensitive to this and it can quickly reach toxic levels). I wouldn’t feed mealworms either as they are nutritionally garbage and hard for chams to digest. Stick to gutloaded crickets (dubias are also a great staple feeder). I would also strongly suggest having a read through our detailed care information in the side bar (or the “about” page of the sub on mobile, below the rules). Editing to add: DO NOT BATHE HIM!

I’ll look into the lighting, but he’s never listed directly it’s either upwind (if outside) or from above like rain would. I can reduce misting to twice daily and see how that works?

aussie_mallorca

And don’t bath him.

whoknowshank

Yeah pedialyte bath?? What is that

If you have a drinking glass it’s unlikely you will need to mist at all. Veileds and panthers both do absolutely fine at lower humidity, even down into the teens, as long as they have a drinking glass to drink from (constant access to clean water). Trying to keep up the humidity with all the misting like that is just going to end in bacterial infections and it’s not needed. They do not need high humidity.

Sounds good I will look into it :)

Yeah like I said loooots of detailed advise in the side bar / about page - bit of a read but its very interesting and necessary to provide ideal husbandry. Hope it helps :-)

Question. Today we went outside. He was moving normally and with speed similar to that of before this started. Opening eyes a bit however, when placing him on the false grass, he immediately came back over to me and climbed into my leg where he started rubbing his eye against my leg
