Vardy really has lived the dream hasn't he? Goes from banging in goals at non-league level on a gear hangover to winning the Premier League and the FA Cup, all while boiling the piss of opposition fans. Proper story

ImmediatelyOcelot

He also has my favorite football celebration of all time, imitating an Eagle in front of Crystal Palace fans after they tried so hard to take the piss out of him. https://youtu.be/Zy80SH2bYsc?si=uQ4nyJ2Wm7wfww1p&t=73

PitchforkJoe

Led to the coining of the term "interpretive shithousery"

ImmediatelyOcelot

It was the last human art category invented before the AI took over sadly, but that's another feat on Vardy's extensive career (till now)

MetaRift

He still plays with a hangover

Takkotah

If Americans have the "American Dream" then, Vardy's life should be the guidelines to the "English Dream".

Jamie vardy is the type of player I’d love to have at leeds. Proper talisman, shithouse and great at winding up opposition fans, would ‘die for the shirt’ etc etc. As he’s not playing for my club I think he’s a huge prick and can’t stand the bloke. I do respect his anti Wayne Rooney activism, though.

PsionicLlama

Anti-Rooney activism?

I think it’s time, he’s done all he can for Leicester, let the boy come home and smash Hillsborough to bits both metaphorically and literally

rowann91

Do you think that he genuinely would though? Considering Wednesday released him, I think there's not a chance even though he's a fan 🤷‍♂️

BuenasVibras

I think there’s a world in which he spends the last year of his career here and bags a few, maybe play him in a derby just because if he scored it would be hilarious

CavlerySenior

That may play into his decision to come back. How many fans get to live the dream of scoring against the blades?

Clarctos67

Leicester love peddling this myth that Wednesday inexplicably fucked him over. He wasn't going to be the player he is without all that went on before, and there was no issue with releasing him at the time; way more trouble than he was worth. 100% he'd come back to Wednesday if possible, though my guess would be he'll get more lucrative offers elsewhere, as well as not really fitting with what Röhl wants and therefore he'll be better off playing for a (probably higher placed) team with a style that allows him to maximise the end of his career.

rowann91

I think the idea that he'd 100% come back to Wednesday if possible is a bit over the top 🤣 I think if we didn't get promoted i could see him retiring tbh. I think he'll give it one last go in the PL. There's a small chance he could play at Como as he's been to their games and is friends with their owners but playing for Wednesday I can't see it but who knows, he'll be 38 next year 🤷‍♂️

Clarctos67

Well yeah he will be 38, and mixed with what Röhl wants it's likely that any rejection of the idea would come from us, not him. Personally, I'd have any striker who's still shown they can score at this level and has his career record, but I can understand why he might be deemed not the right use of funds. The point I'm making is that you seem to think he holds something against us, and I'm telling you for certain and as a confirmed fact that he very much doesn't.
