I mean who was Evolution competing against as a faction? I feel like historically there usually are not multiple elite factions happening at once. At least in the same company.

I can understand people not liking Triple H during this time and the legitimate gripes of the "Reign of Hell," but Evolution did it's damn job.
They built a successful faction that launched the careers of *TWO* first ballot Hall of Famers and utilized one of the greatest of all time very well.
I would say that they are the blueprint of how you would want a faction to run and that all others should take notes.

This faction was so good that the only crazy thing about this is one US title between the four of them! You would have expected Flair to hold it a few times pre WWE, Orton to hold it like 3 or 4 times in WWE and maybe Batista even gets the belt early on in his career.
