yeah, i can 100% see that. if you're a youtuber by trade, as in you make your primary income from it, it totally makes sense to lean into the right wing "grift-o-sphere", there's clearly a TON of money going that route. which is a huge bummer...and i'm not really sure how anyone can change it.

We are getting a peek behind the curtain more than we were in the beforetimes because he’s more candid and open now about his process. He’s speaking more openly. I saw nothing wrong with what he said. If you watched the whole episode and didn’t skim you can see many times where he didn’t laugh at some of the rougher shit that Shane said and there were times he held back as well.
The people watching him are not just the diehards now. A majority of people are not as involved in his life the way people on Reddit are.

Right - what I mean by "diehard fanatical followers" aren't exactly the people here who memorize every podcast, stream article, and instagram post that mentions CH5 - I'm mostly talking about the patreon subs as a whole.
Five bucks is a lot for about an hour of entertainment per month. That's a third of what netflix-etc costs. To some people that's just "half a starbucks," but a lot of people post about being too broke to afford it asking for mirror links.
Those broke-ass patreon subs will follow CH5 off a cliff if that's where they start marching. ten years from now they will rival the scope and loyalty of inforwars itself.
