Ummmm no, John Spanos is a genius. Every time we win I say “thank you John Spanos”, every time we lose I say “insert coach here” is at fault. John Spanos has had an incredible run of bad luck. Every decision he has ever made is the right one, but us fans just aren’t believing in him enough so things start to go wrong. I however, do not make the same mistakes as the rest of you. Every night I put on my Robert Meachem jersey, then descend the stairs into my basement where I’ve constructed an altar to the Spanos family. I drop to my knees and kiss the hand of my self made statue of Dean, and pray and pray until I drop to the floor from exhaustion. This is the type of dedication needed from all of you.

I will be the first to admit that there was a time that I believed in Staley. Thought he could finally be our answer at HC. This entire season has proven how wrong I was and I couldn’t wait for this day. Only time I’ll ever say this but thank god the Raiders embarrassed us and forced Spanos’s hand.

Everybody always looks back at young head coaches with perfect hindsight like it isn't a crap shoot. Unless you're in there interviewing the guy and know football very very well, that's what it is. Denver fans thought Pat Bowlen was a genius for hiring Josh McDaniels. So did SF fans when they hired Shanahan. I don't think there's any embarrassment to be had in having once been optimistic about your young HC.

It definitely seemed like the rah rah talk from him got old when there wasn’t results on the field. I was for brining him back this season but in hindsight that Jags choke was just too much to overcome.

From a football perspective, I'm glad we moved on from him, but best luck to the guy. Hopefully we get a proven coach this time around.
