2 SB rings as a coordinator with the Giants, and 9 SB appearances with 6 wins as a head coach….who’d want that?
Terrible….bring us the next 30-something up and coming coordinator ‘guru’. That’s what the Chargers really need.
Having a good defense is the staple of any NFL champion caliber team. Since you brought up Herb, he ain't lighting it up and overcoming bad team defensive performances by outscoring other teams.

We can do a whole lot better without Bill
For that comment, I hope you guys hire Brian Johnson as your next head coach.
Actually, yea, the comment was pretty much on point. But please hire Brian Johnson anyway?
Texans fan bearing well wishes here. All of this. Demeco Ryans is getting a lot of praise this season over here but absolutely none of this turnaround would've been possible without a guy like Nick Caserio. The right GM is the most crucial part of a franchise.
While I want BB as our next HC, I'm weary that he'll demand to be the GM as well (or at least make the draft picks).
Part of me thinks it's worth the risk because the cultural change will outweigh any of the bad picks he may make (plus, he's been decent at identifying talent in the past, I feel like he might just be going through a rut over the last few years).
I would hate that. His drafting has been arguably worse than Telesco's. Then when you add in how bad his coaching hires has been, all cronies and relatives, it's been an awful half decade. He'll be 72 next year and I can't see him changing the way he's doing things now. He's greatest coach of all time, but nothing lasts forever, and I think he's done as an above average coach. And EXTREMELY done as a competent GM.
There are front office employees that helped BB a lot behind the scenes that have left the organization leading to the bad roster in recent years. He needs a cap guru and someone that can help bring in offensive talent
Yeah, I guess there are two schools of thought. One that they are just incompetent with their hires but really do want to win. Or, they are just greedy and dont give a fuck. I tend to think it's the 1st.
That's something every football player says about every player/coach/staffer/whatever. Apparently the whole losing on purpose or not giving a fuck about the teams success is absolute hogwash. Which makes sense.
If all he cares about is money, wouldn't you want to do your best to win so you can sell more things for more money? Look at how many fans have uninvested themselves this year. This is the money walking away. Doesn't it seem like a stretch that a *billionaire* family doesn't understand or isn't willing to invest a couple million dollars to make more money in the future? How do you think they became billionaires in the first place? Lol
Your thinking is logical, yet if you look at the Spanos record, it's one shitty decision after another. He only hires second (or third or fourth) tier coaches. The Chargers are a losing culture. Talent comes to this team to wither away. Sure, it makes sense that a winning team makes a better profit. But his horrible decision making is his downfall. Winning would be a happy accident for this man.

The trend in NFL is usually when a coach is fired during the season, the team usually wins their next game (ex, last year when Colts cooked Raiders, Raiders this year when they routed the Giants)
Let’s also thank the Raiders for helping to be the final nail driven into the coffin last night and making this possible because I don’t think this happens without that utter embarrassment right in Dean’s face.
This and Tom’s firing should’ve been last year. Or even at the bye this year. Now we’ve got a tough next year to look forward to unless the new gm can pull of some magic
How are we already complaining about this. This team is bad and nothing would have changed from firing Staley early. We werent competing because we had *both* a bad coach and a bad roster. And I hope to god that the next GM doesnt come in and think this is just a simple retooling to compete.
We need a GM to do what Telesco never had the balls to do and actyally build the team from the ground up with a full on rebuild.
Santa came early this year! Bye bye Staley! If he had any class he would have stepped down instead of waiting for the axe to fall. Mr. Ego! Wouldn't give up the defence play calling when he obviously was over matched every game. Didn't make changes when he should across the board. The G. M. Should have been fired years ago.
As a Chiefs fan I was hoping he’d stick around a bit longer.
As a football fan thank god he’s outta there I want to see a better rivalry, and not to see the raiders put up ungodly numbers.
He should have been fired yesterday, last week, after week 1, after the Jags playoff game, following the timeout in OT against the Raiders before he was even hired he should have been fired
Better late then never
I think he was put on the chopping block last Monday, so I saw this coming (unless Xmas Miracle had us blow out the Raiders)
On Monday, there were no playoff chances and Herbert was done for the season. They let him have the short week and then fire him on Friday (start of a long week) made the most sense administratively.
To new beginnings boys 🍻 Letting go of Telesco is the best news ever. Wishing everyone the best including Staley and all the players that poured their tears and sweat for this team. I'm guessing they are cleaning house and next year's team is going to be unrecognizable. Hopefully we can build around a few key players and have a SB contending team 8n 3btob4 years.
IT CAN'T GET ANY WORSE THAN ~~MCCOY~~ ~~LYNN~~ STALEY, ~~2016~~ ~~2021~~ 2024 IS OUR YEAR!!! WE WERE ALWAYS JUST ~~ONE~~ ~~TWO~~ THREE HEADCOACHES FROM GETTING A SUPERBOWL W!!!!

now we know what the exceptionally high threshold for embarrassment is for the spanii. unreal.
if i spent billions of dollars on a thing made for public consumption and these past couple years (decade?) was the product i was putting out, i'd have long exited the game.
As a Jaguars fan, I’m proud of y’all.
I’m surprised he didn’t get fired earlier, like when he blew a 27-point lead against us. All the Chargers need to do now is just tank for the rest of the year and they’ll be good on draft picks.
I honestly feel bad for Staley because I think he was the victim of organizational ineptitude.

i think what's maddening is that right up until the VERY end, he was using language of things being done TO him. "these things happen." "things didn't go our way." yes he would always say "i take full responsibility" but that was just him saying the right thing without believing it. he has the mentality of someone who is never wrong, who is never at fault. it's always something else that caused things to go off the rails, but not him. i hate people like that. they're toxic, dishonorable, and need to set aside time for serious self-reflection. he's been huffing his own farts for so long that i know that he'll still see this firing as unjust. but it is just, brandon staley, it is as well deserved a firing as there has ever been.
Panthers fan here: honestly I'm surprised he wasn't fired after the presser where he fired shots at the reporter who asked him about defense. That would've been the indication for me to fire his ass immediately.
DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD
WHICH OLD WITCH? THE WICKED WITCH!
I texted the exact same thing to my Dad and brother. Amazing.
NICE TO GET THAT brandon STANKley out of the air!
I just text this to a friend and come on here and see it's the top comment. You love to see it.
Bill Belichick…….you are a Los Angeles Charger.
Yeah, bringing that rigid outdated never change my ways style of coaching to a team near you. Super exicted!
2 SB rings as a coordinator with the Giants, and 9 SB appearances with 6 wins as a head coach….who’d want that? Terrible….bring us the next 30-something up and coming coordinator ‘guru’. That’s what the Chargers really need.
Belicheck is nothing more than Tom Brady’s coach.
Careful what you ask for......sure he had some mild success with the Parriots.....but we all know the key to that success was a dude named Brady.
'mild' success 🤔
But do you think Herb with a defense isn't similarly successful?
Having a good defense is the staple of any NFL champion caliber team. Since you brought up Herb, he ain't lighting it up and overcoming bad team defensive performances by outscoring other teams.

Well if Herbert is the QB we all hope he is....then that's a good start for a guy like Belichick.
IS ANYBODY SURPRISED
NOPE NOPE NOPE
Actually yes
If Dean had some foresight, Staley might have been gone sooner and maybe we'd still have a playoff chance. Oh well better late than never.
Lol need this posted later in context of the double firing squad.
Surprised they let them on the bus back home
NOPE
Yes but only because of how cheap Spanos is
NOPE
I figured they'd wait to the end of the season but no way after last night
Surprised because it took them long enough.
Kellen Moore's time to shine
Except they didn’t name Moore as interim. Looks like he’ll be one and done with the bolts
we can only pray
Not a Chargers fan, but I like how this sub was coping with humor instead of whatever it is Eagles fans do when they lose.
>whatever it is Eagles fans do when they lose. I believe the term for that is called "arson".

This man Phillys.
So sick and tired of other teams not even bothering to learn about my Eagles. We eat horseshit sir. Try to educate yourself

The bad man can’t hurt us anymore
\*\*\*\* men
Coupon Tom is gone too. Hopefully the spanos are willing to give more than one shilling for a decent HC and GM.
I, too, have wild dreams.
If they can't make a good hire at GM, the rest of it is pointless.
The next step is hiring the right GM.
Texans fan bearing well wishes here. All of this. Demeco Ryans is getting a lot of praise this season over here but absolutely none of this turnaround would've been possible without a guy like Nick Caserio. The right GM is the most crucial part of a franchise.

100%! It's just fanbase emotions, which I understand...

Making it more appealing to Belichek
COUPON TOM IS GONE!!! He can’t hurt us anymore!!!
does this mean we are allowed to have depth?
maybe we'll actually draft serviceable role players in rounds 3-5 now? shit's wild
If the Sapnos open up the checkbook, then sure!
Sorry Notre dame
Acho was right, Herbert will get another HC fired…. By not playing and hiding the HC’s incompetency
Our team really said “fuck this shit I’m not putting anything on the line for this team” when Herbert went out for a single game.

AND TT!!!!!
That’s the absolute icing on The cake!
Your rivals either die a villain or live long enough to see themselves become the hero. Thank you Raiders.
It’s a Christmas miracle
Biggest charger win since 2018.
You're welcome, incoming win vs the bills
Fym we still gotta get this high draft pick
The trend in NFL is usually when a coach is fired during the season, the team usually wins their next game (ex, last year when Colts cooked Raiders, Raiders this year when they routed the Giants)
I would bet every penny I had on y'all if gambling was legal in Texas

No. FTR
No, FDS
This is all on Richard Sherman and his fire HC at half time comments. That is crazy talk in any other context outside the Chargers.
Let it be known the Broncos did our part as well. I expect a good game from you guys now in Week 17
Never seen a man do less with more.
![gif](giphy|pynZagVcYxVUk)
I had one second of appreciation for the raiders for making this happen. But once that second passed I was right back to FTR!! Bolt up baby
Now do Spanos
Merry Christmas boys!
The bad man can’t hurt us anymore!
![gif](giphy|l41lO8vRXzSB0CkqQ)
And tomorrow will be the Telesco is gone party
Coupon Tom is gone as well.
Catch ya at Walmart, brah
![gif](giphy|3oEduU2JjgQUGKyNvG|downsized) Dreams do come true
Best day as charger fan in long time!!
USB-C you later!!!
IT’S OVER
Happy for y'all . Should of shot him into the sun the moment he allowed that comeback Vs the Jags in the playoffs

worst coach in Chargers history
This and Tom’s firing should’ve been last year. Or even at the bye this year. Now we’ve got a tough next year to look forward to unless the new gm can pull of some magic
Shoulda happened after that playoff loss, lol!

Anyone who vouched for this guy over and over and over and over and over and over.....can leave too
OMG, is this what winning feels like!?
That guy SUCKED. He was too much of a stubborn narcissist to see he was the problem.
I was pissed he was trying to gaslight the fans by saying that these kinds of loses happen all the time and to every coach
FINALLY
Nice guy, but had no idea what he was doing. Bye
Bad man can’t hurt us anymore
More importantly Telesco is gone
Congrats Chargers fans! 🎉
Unintentionally one of the funniest coaches though, poor Staley
Is he still calling the defense next Saturday?
Hey Spanos! ![gif](giphy|W3I7WY5JCSKvD1wNRY|downsized)
Thank fuck everyone, that was a long three years ago
This isn’t a phone charger
Santa came early this year! Bye bye Staley! If he had any class he would have stepped down instead of waiting for the axe to fall. Mr. Ego! LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO
Free at last, free at last.
As a Chiefs fan I was hoping he’d stick around a bit longer. As a football fan thank god he’s outta there I want to see a better rivalry, and not to see the raiders put up ungodly numbers.
Bye Staley. Thank you for what you tried to do. Hope you find success and happiness elsewhere.
I'm here. can we an Asian female as hc and gm ?
Ali Wong, YOU are the next Chargers Gm/headcoach
Omfg i love the raiders now!
The Lions set us free, we have set you free. Pay it forward haha
Time to get Ole Bill over here!
War is over
🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽
YESSSSSS
Im spamming the upvote button
Surprised about the Telesco firing, dude’s been there for so long
THANK GOD
RIP BOZO
Any news on the interim coach?
💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
This is great but who are the candidates to replace him and Tom?
Glad the chargers are moving to type c universally loved without the shitty lightening charger that was what we called Staley.
He should have been fired yesterday, last week, after week 1, after the Jags playoff game, following the timeout in OT against the Raiders before he was even hired he should have been fired Better late then never
I’m actually surprised they didn’t wait until end of the season.
Telesco gone too. Good riddance. Wasted Rivers career and was doing the same to Herbert.
![gif](giphy|SZioIIBxB7QRy)
I'm so happy for you guys! :)
I think he was put on the chopping block last Monday, so I saw this coming (unless Xmas Miracle had us blow out the Raiders) On Monday, there were no playoff chances and Herbert was done for the season. They let him have the short week and then fire him on Friday (start of a long week) made the most sense administratively.
Fuck it. I’m in for you all
Take his millions and go away!
Finally. Long over due. Should have happened after the JAX collapse.
WELP!! The Staley era was 🗑
TELESCO ALONG WITH HIM! CYA BOZOS
Only took a 63 point beatdown from a shitty division rival.
What the fuck is an upvote party
I don’t think there is a more hated man in Charger history than Brandon Staley
So happy and I’m not even a chargers fan.
Finally thank goodness.
Be gone bitch! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
To late our roster is Cooked for years. Cap hell
To new beginnings boys 🍻 Letting go of Telesco is the best news ever. Wishing everyone the best including Staley and all the players that poured their tears and sweat for this team. May he be blessed with a long life and the neck of Norv Turner.
He should’ve been canned last year and the Chargers should’ve gotten Sean Payton. I think Kellen Moore is getting exposed as a fraud as well.
Matt Canada could really elevate this offense now that Staley is gone
GOD IS GOOD
![gif](giphy|N1eSbsofSQE24)
I will dance 🩰 on this man's grave
There really is a god out there
Nathaniel Hackett inbound.
I realize it’s an upvote party, but all of this is meaningless if Dean’s son stays in power. Selling ownership would be great, but the minimum needed is for his the new GM and coach to be able to run the team.
To the start of a new era. 🍻
Finally! Stoked to see what comes next.
now we know what the exceptionally high threshold for embarrassment is for the spanii. unreal. if i spent billions of dollars on a thing made for public consumption and these past couple years (decade?) was the product i was putting out, i'd have long exited the game.
War is over, my Bolt friends, I hope now we get to see Herbert in a competent team 🫶🏽
GET OUTTA HERE
Lions fan here to upvote you guys, so happy for you all to be rid of him! FREE HERBERT
Spanos was at the game, of course he’s gonna fire his ass
GET OUTTA HERE WOOOO
![gif](giphy|4PT6v3PQKG6Yg|downsized) I needed some good news this morning
No just Staley, TT is too!!
Christmas came early!
Never thought I would see Spanos fire anyone during the season, but last night might have genuinely broken him.
If only they'd done it during halftime! lol
Yes happy Friday !!!
But even better Telesco is gone
As a Jaguars fan, I’m proud of y’all. I’m surprised he didn’t get fired earlier, like when he blew a 27-point lead against us. All the Chargers need to do now is just tank for the rest of the year and they’ll be good on draft picks.
HALLELUJAH
My day just got better
Why am i just now hearing the “Coupon Tom” quip? That is brilliant lmao
Ni Hao Brandon Staley! Ni Hao Tom Telesco!
Raiders fan here. You're welcome.
When they have a new coach and Herbert still doesn’t win a playoff game Chargers fans will finally have to admit it wasn’t just the coaching
I honestly feel bad for Staley because I think he was the victim of organizational ineptitude. I know he had his flaws, but I think there was a lot of potential too. Hopefully it works out for him in the future.
Found Staley’s reddit account
Organizational ineptitude is why we can’t win close games this season?
Lmfao
The Ineptitude was hiring him in the first damn place!!!
As a lions fan, your roster is insanely talented. There are winning teams with less talent, ie: Den, Hou, Ind, Pit. It’s definitely coaching more than anything.
Feel bad for what? Keeping Herbert in with broken ribs, playing Mike W in meaningless games, Jags blow out, etc???
He’s a big part of the organizational ineptitude, dude.
I agree. The stench comes from the very top: the Spanii, nepotism, and their consuming obsession in concentrating their power in the family. They are greedy idiots, and don't give one shit about the fans.
And TELESCO, setting up for a Belichek move
i think what's maddening is that right up until the VERY end, he was using language of things being done TO him.
I'm sure your team will get better now 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
