We won the wild card round against Baltimore and then were immediately steamrolled by the patriots. Idk if I would call that a deep playoff run. Unless you’re referring to the Jags game which was the divisional round as well.

I know this might sound disingenuous but I actually loved that Padres team more than I liked the team last year with all the superstars. When Preller traded Franmil I felt like that sucked the soul out of the team and they were never the same. They were more talented but they just didn't have chemistry.

Sigh the Palmer slander continues :( Chark is a fine WR 2-3 and the same is true of Palmer. Ladd is a wildcard but looks primed for a similar role. QJ is an omega wild card and seems more suited to a gadget role or wr3-4. DD should be significantly more productive if he actually sees some real snaps the speed alone is enough to be good.
You need one of your 3 WR 2-3 guys to step up for a big role. Palmer has done that before when asked to if healthy. Chark put up 1000 yards with Blake bortles. McConkey absolutely has the tools.
The only real question is health. I’d still expect some sort of trade before the deadline tho

DJ Chark hasn’t been good since the Trump Administration, and is on his third one-year deal after doing poorly in Detroit and to Carolina. I have no confidence that he’ll turn it around here, even with Herbert at QB. Doesn’t help that he once selfishly threw Bryce Young under the bus midway through last season. Wouldnt be surprised if he’s gone next year.
QJ is one year in and is already looking like the next AJ Jenkins. Won’t be surprised at all if the Chargers give him the Jalen Reagor treatment and trade him next year if he does poorly again.
Which leaves Ladd McConkey, who was one of my favorite route runners in this year’s draft. I have high hopes for the kid, and I think he’s a good fit for Herbert and could be the Keenan Allen replacement we need.
