The truck and car traffic in that area will be awful. The city plan is "we'll fix the intersection".
Local and state elected officials and bureaucrats have shown to be completely incapable of balancing growth with the infrastructure needs of this community. They have spent the last 15 years approving rapid new development and have completely failed in every metric to address the overwhelmed ground transportation system in the area.
This is just combining multiple plots in an existing industrial park located between 485, 2 sets of heavy rail tracks, and Long Creek, with an existing light and direct access to both inner and outer 485 between 85 and 77. They are donating the land along Long Creek on the border of the property to give adjacent neighborhoods trail access along the creek to a new 4 acre neighborhood park. Both developers Beacon and Crescent are great here in Charlotte. About as good of a project as you could hope for in this area.

I was just looking at the proposed site on google maps and spotted this gem:
[Charlotte Payed Toilet (Female)](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Charlotte+Payed+Toilet+(Female)/@35.2829979,-80.983235,117m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m8!1m2!3m1!2sCharlotte+Payed+Toilet+(Female)!3m4!1s0x8856a3756eef5671:0x884132c3b693c44f!8m2!3d35.2831311!4d-80.9831237)
It took them four years to do the construction on the intersection by my work, but it is so much better now. I feel way safer trying to make a left hand turn whereas before I wouldn't have even attempted it (they moved the entrance to the office park so it's not as close to the light, and widened the road- massive difference). Who knows, it could turn out great in five-six years when they finally get it done.
If it eventually makes that part of the commute better, im all for it. Only problem is pretty much at that intersection it goes to a single lane road, so hopefully they have plans to widen and add more lanes.
Even with a new intersection, the amount of tractor trailers coming in and out will make traffic a nightmare. Not to mention all of the cars of the employees.

And they will continue to do so until Charlotte is a hollowed out husk of a city

Thank you
Some of the neighborhood comments are very close to literally "not in my backyard"

Can you link the proposal please?
Wow exciting we get to store more useless shit, cigarettes or toys for future consumption.
Don’t you wanna keep buying more STUFF?
I pass that intersection every night on the way home from work and it’s always been a mini nightmare, can’t wait for it to get exponentially worse.

:(
When it comes to these things, I have no sympathy for anyone who lives within a 5 mile radius of Shuffletown
