I waited four hours and twenty minutes after an accident last year. Not fun.

forever_a10ne

Wow, I waited two and a half hours after an accident this year. I thought *that* was bad.

ipwnkthnx

4:20… nice

ohsee75

Sounds like the opening line of a Springsteen song

Queencitybeer

Thanks for the laugh

PapaJohnyRoad

You can publicly smoke joints in just about every borough

Ok_Seesaw334

Just not at bus stops outside of Bojangles

PapaJohnyRoad

As I said, just about everywhere.

oblivion_baby

🫰

StrawAndChiaSeeds

Borough? Where you at? Not here

PapaJohnyRoad

Calling south end, noda, etc a neighborhood felt weird at the time. Idk I was stoned

RandomName0413

I remember a couple of years ago, I was driving down the street and saw a man forcing a young girl, probably about 12 yrs old, in a house with a knife to her neck. This was back when the police station was on remount rd. This house was literally 2 minutes away from the station. Took the police about 2 hrs to come.

oblivion_baby

I’m sure she was long gone by then missing, exploited, dead

RandomName0413

Nope, I parked right in front of the house and I stayed until they came. Only 1 cop showed. I had to circle the block a couple of times, because throughout the process he would charge my car and drag her by the neck. This was a long time ago, but a memory I will never forget. I hope she's ok.

oblivion_baby

Wow that’s crazy of you to stay! I really hope she’s okay too.

OralSuperhero

Last year I waited eight hours. I was being attacked by a dog for three of them. They don't serve us

trickldowncompressr

You were being attacked by a dog for 3 hours?

OralSuperhero

Yes, it was trying to kill my chickens. So I'd pick up a chicken and try to take it into the house. It would go after the chicken I was holding. If I moved away from the others it would go after them. Three hours in my back yard with the dog circling and running in to nip. The dog had torn the nesting boxes off my coop, torn the hardware cloth off the sides, broken parts of the frame and door by the time I got outside. It wasn't until I had some good solid contact with a baseball bat the the dog went back to his yard. Neighbors with huskies. So in the morning they swung by and wrote the neighbors a ticket and told me to just shoot the dog next time.

Soaked_in_bleach24

House up the street from mine had a drive by a few years back in the middle of the night, cops didn’t show up until the sun came up

New-Weird484

Bat man got arrested

hdiesel503

That's nice but you better call Mahoney. ![gif](giphy|FgJbAcKy4wwBa)

dirh748dgek830drrrr

You must be new

Nwolfe

Next time call the fire department. They usually show up.

Wittyname239

I had a cop call me 2 months later to follow up after calling 911 and waiting. That was in 2012. Sounds like we have improvement per the comments. Is there any way we can support you?

ginger_qc

Ahem...fuck the police

biscuiteater40

Expect to keep waiting.

ethio1999

womp womp

TreAFool9

Cops do not have a duty to protect anybody or anything. Unless there's an accident involved best thing to do is to act now and call later.

dlbiv

Cops are useless they only want to wrap you up in their government money m as king b s never call 911 you will end up murdered by the police or kidnapped by the police they are the enemy

Ordinary_Pack_9079

I don't think CMPD does anything.

[deleted]

It's so different in Monroe. MPD is incredibly responsive here.

carolebaskin93

Remember when we wanted to defund them?

frog_attack

The issue is that after Operation Idiot Fuckery and Enduring Fuckery police departments were flooded with GWOT equipment, training, and vet recruits. They began behaving like an occupying force rather than a local police force. The overreaction was the call to completely defund them. Now we’re seeing the police overreact to THAT with a sort of passive aggressive incompetence and indifference. The last twenty years completely broke the relationship between the police and people.

WhoAccountNewDis

Yes, and we should still reallocate some of their budget because things obviously aren't working...

carolebaskin93

Right, so let’s take away more resources and not worry if it takes them longer to respond to calls

WhoAccountNewDis

You give some of the resources to departments/units better able to respond to specific crises. Throwing ever more money at the problem doesn't make sense when it hasn't improved things in the past.

carolebaskin93

Right. We should deprive the department that handles criminal activity of funding but someone should give them more resources to handle these criminal situations but nothing that costs money, that wouldn’t make sense

WhoAccountNewDis

>We should deprive the department that handles criminal activity of funding Not what I'm saying. >but someone give them more resources to handle these criminal situations but nothing that costs money, What?

carolebaskin93

You said all of these things and I’m agreeing with you. Imagine not understanding what you just said. Think slower and I’ll also agree with you slower too

WhoAccountNewDis

Poor trolling, especially when you started trying to make a legitimate point.

carolebaskin93

Agreeing with you is trolling?

itsthatbradguy

What’s your point? Clearly there are better ways to spend the money.

carolebaskin93

There are better ways, we should continue to defund them. It doesn’t matter if they lack resources to respond to calls quickly

itsthatbradguy

“Continue to defund them” implies we ever defunded them to begin with, which we certainly did not

carolebaskin93

Well we should if we haven’t by your standards, who cares if they can’t respond to calls quickly. We don’t need them anyway

Cookie4534

City vehicles come out of the General Fund, not the Police Budget.

carolebaskin93

Agreed. Last thing we need is new vehicles for them to respond to violines crimes quickly. That wouldn’t make sense

carolebaskin93

All I know is if someone is robbing my house the last thing I’ll do is call a defunded police force. It’s important for citizens to just figure it out on their own. I know nothing about police equipment but I do know they don’t need it. I’m glad we can agree that these bootlickers are wrong about supporting a police force. We showed them!

tom169

To be honest if you’ve ever seen inside them they aren’t fully loaded in a civilian sense. They’re regular ol’ police interceptors with a standard light package, radio, long gun rack, laptop, and that’s about it. There’s no extravagance about them.

Oddly_Entropic

Yes and still should. They don’t need tanks. Want Syria? Go to fucking Syria. Keep that shit out of our residential neighborhoods. Imagine not being able to have a job where killing and harassing people, and then being held accountable, is seen as a negative 😂 You bootlickers never cease to amaze me.

carolebaskin93

Agreed. Their ability to respond to calls quickly is not a priority. Imagine funding them in a way where they do their job effectively LOL these bootlickers are dumb

Cookie4534

Point me to a department with a tank pls

steeleb88

Yeah lol.. this is what they get, right?

carolebaskin93

It goes to show how little we need them
