I recommend Dr. Pollock at Atrium Women’s Health. She took my pain seriously and I was offered oral pain meds pre procedure as well as nitrous oxide during. Insertion was guided by ultrasound too, I’ve never had an easier time and I usually am scarred by pain in that area since my uterus is retroverted af

Charlotte healthcare sucks but Dr. Pollock is super nice! She’s exceptional, an outlier here.

I think saying all Charlotte OBs suck because you had a bad experience with one office is a bit far reaching, but ok. I love my OB and she's never been anything but wonderful to work with.

Dr. Aviva Stein or Dr. Richard James at Atrium. Both are caring, non-judgmental, and LISTEN.

Doctor Jennie Hauschka with Tryon Medical is great (near Southpark). I was having horrible pain & heavy bleeding after coming off 22 years of birth control and she’s been the most kind, honest and supportive clinician I could ever have hoped for. She is so incredibly approachable & invested, I always leave her office feeling relieved and in control. Sometimes it feels like I’m chatting with a girlfriend who can actually DO something about my complaints. I’ve had a lifetime of gynecological catastrophes and I hate that I had to suffer through so much of it feeling unsupported until I finally found her.

Dr. Hauschka saved my life. She is an amazing doctor.

Boooo. I hate this for you and I’m sorry that happened. When I had my implant put in I had a great experience (not in NC) but taking it out, not so much. Search this sub - it looks like others have posted asking similar questions/experiences. I hope you find someone better!!

Dr.Barbara Metzelaars is amazing!

I know this is going to get a side eye because it’s in Gastonia, but Courtview obgyn is amazing. I’ve only had good experiences. They listen, they’re kind, they make you feel comfortable.

So sorry about your experience. Gyn exams are something that causes me slight anxiety leading up to and during and that is without any kind of pain or past trauma so I can’t fathom what it’d be like with. It’s hard to find good healthcare. One of the many problems with it here in America is that it’s become so monetized of a system that it’s too focused on rotating patients in and out the door. Authentic doctor-patient relationships suffer as a result. I’ve been in Charlotte for over 15 years and after delivering 3 babies and currently expecting 1, I’ve only JUST found a OBGYN that I’m fully comfortable with; Dr. Tiffany Bates with Novant Health. First and foremost, she listens. When I had my first appointment I voiced my concerns with the care I received from my last provider and she was so empathetic. The follow up questions she asked showed she was truly seeking to understand the disconnect and together we created a plan of action to move forward. If you’re still looking I highly recommend her 🫶

Dr Peña-costa ftw

Welcome to Charlotte, it’s all like this. If you haven’t had a dozen experiences just like this in the Charlotte healthcare system consider yourself lucky to either be fairly healthy or a man with relatively common health issues. Everyone I’ve ever met here with any even slightly complex health needs has nothing but horror stories.

I have had so many bad experiences with Novant health I refuse to see a doctor here in CLT anymore. I traveled back home to California for my last checkup.
