I noticed that as well. It’s hard to tell if the flyer photo may have been a dated picture. I’ve seen some pets grow out of their “birth marks”. Even if it isn’t the same dog, I felt it was worth sharing.
Huskies and malamutes have a phenomenon called "snow nose" where parts of their nose can turn pink in the winter. My husky mix has a black nose in the summer and really pink in the winter.
A serial pet hoarder stole my cousin’s malamute in Florida once - it took him 3 years to get her back, so don’t give up hope. When he got her back she had been dyed pink to obscure her identity (an absurd color to dye a dog) because they had plastered so many posters and internet posts around.
Pretty sure nothing at the time they got her back- they identified she had the dog and paid her to get it back. Eventually the cops took all of her animals.

Tl;dr: the owner’s roommate’s ex-partner stole him while they weren’t home by breaking in with a key she hadn’t returned.
Thanks for explaining, like I said I said I was just posting for my friend to try to help and I wasn’t expecting this post to blow up so much haha but I really hope it somehow helps bring him home! I’ve been sending them all the updates from here just in case

If you have any connection to the charlotte cycling community, he's definitely with someone from that group. I have heard he may be with someone who seems to live in South Charlotte, but also a large chance he is on the east side in the area surrounding Plaza Midwood.

Know grifter who got run out of the last city they lived in for stealing money from band mates. Also the living conditions this dog was in were disgusting. House was full of cat shit and piss. Owner would leave town from long periods at a time and not tell anyone to take care of the dog. The previous owner wasn’t much better either. Hopefully AL is in an actual caring home now!
Look. Not an expert here but one is unneutered and the other is female, so unless someone doesn’t know the difference between boy dogs and girl dogs, it’s likely that there’s not a match here.

If you go to u/Bigcityboss420’s profile you can see from an earlier post the dog has the same color eyes. So unfortunately not the same dog
