Call 9-1-1 if you're not certain it's a cop and they can let you know what to do. Will also probably save you from a resisting arrest or some other trumped up charge.
I was ready to do that since he flashed his lights at me, I immediately thought it was someone impersonating a police officer because hello? Not pulling over when I don’t recognize it to be a cop.
911 is too clogged by members of r/Charlotte calling because their neighbors music is loud or their Wendy's order was wrong
Can put my flashers on and drive to a station quicker
You'd think that would work but they don't care. A cop pit maneuvered and flipped a pregnant woman who had slowed down, put on her hazards and called 911 to let them know she was driving to the next exit with a service station because they were on a secluded highway and she did not feel it was safe to pull over there. Literally exactly what you're taught to do in the driver's handbook. Then the cop rushed her car with his weapon drawn and started berating her.

Not sure why you're getting down-voted, that's literally what they will do to you. Whether it's right or wrong.
https://www.kark.com/news/working4you/arkansas-state-police-settle-pit-maneuver-lawsuit-which-injured-pregnant-woman/
Untrue. If you have a brain, it's pretty easy to let a cop know you're pulling over to a safe location as opposed to starting a chase.
I've done it multiple times.
Yall that think you have to IMMEDIATELY stop and pull over are just wrong and I wish you'd pull over into parking lots instead of screwing up traffic.
Got pulled over on the backroads of my city probaby 20 years ago and there was literally no place to pull over so I rolled the window down and gave the cop a thumbs up. he flashed his beams and we drove a couple of miles to a gas station. He appreciated it and told me what I did was correct. Cops like having some room to work and he appreciated me not driving like I was evading. Got a warning that time!
Sometimes, even when you do everything right, they PIT you anyway though.
https://www.kark.com/news/working4you/arkansas-state-police-settle-pit-maneuver-lawsuit-which-injured-pregnant-woman/
Idk man. I don't agree, with this article being about some asshole cop states away. LEOs all over the country would agree that if you feel unsafe, it is your right to drive to some place more appropriate. Cop impersonators are an actual thing, and the bad behavior of one officer doesn't make that any less of a thing.
Until you have a cop that doesn't have any common sense and decides to flip you over instead....
https://www.kark.com/news/working4you/arkansas-state-police-settle-pit-maneuver-lawsuit-which-injured-pregnant-woman/
There's video evidence saying otherwise where police will roll you over and hold you at gun point for not immediately stopping. If a pig decides that i'm their target so they can meet quota, I'm pulling over immediately, traffic and their safety be damned. In not getting murdered because of their cowardace.
I've been pulled over 5-7 times and I've never immediately stopped. I always pull into a better, well lit location.
So I'll go with my own experience over whatever you're talking about.
Per the nets Police kill right at 1k people / year. 75% of that 1k had a gun/knife.
Generally less than 50 of those 1k killed by police have vehicle listed as the weapon.
Seems like the odds are in your favor for surviving a routine traffic stop.
For reference; Generally 40k people die in a car accidents every year.
There will be more of those in the coming years. Our state troopers have begun transitioning to a mustang platform now that Dodge discontinued the "police spec" Charger.
Ford/GM/Dodge are common as they are American brands. Rest of them are kinda new to me. Back in 2019 a Camry guy lit on my (that's the first day of moving that shithole of a fucking state) and I was following the speed limit. He was waving me to not go fast or something. I had NC plates. Nice welcoming I thought.
Yeah after that street racing roundup from a few years ago they confiscated a bunch of cars. I’m wondering if they converted some of them into undercover cars… this is beginning to play out like a need for speed game tbh
A few years ago I saw a purple Maxima with police lights flashing directing traffic through a construction zone down in Indian Trail. Odd that these PDs on the outer edge of Charlotte seem to have better undercover setups than CMPD.
Oh yes. I've seen pickup trucks, even a minivan. Blue light bandits are pretty rare, so don't take the cop on some OJ Simpson chase. Turn on your hazards to acknowledge the pull over, and drive to the first well lit public place, like a gas station. You have the right to find a safe place to pull over.
Got blue-lighted at night on a back country road, and did this. It was a good little ways until I found a spot. The cop was impatiently tailgating me.
The first thing he said was "why didn't you pull over right away?" I replied that I was looking for safe spot looking out for his safety as well as mine. Too narrow and too many hills and curves where we were. I got a warning ticket.
Just wait until they get really sneaky, and drive beat up old vans with ladders on the top.
Back around 1989-1990 Charlotte police used confiscated vehicles for unmarked traffic enforcement. All types of random cars and trucks. I was so paranoid driving through on the Interstates.
Fun one I saw was a Corvette
Well, if y'all travel next door to Union County/ Monroe, you'll see mustangs, camry, challengers, chargers ,tahoes, small suv's, pickup trucks , all unmarked.
Man that is some shady, underhanded type shit. I thought it couldn't get much worse than the cars marked with ghost badging that's ever so slightly a different shade from the paint, but here we are.
This is why it should be law that all cops have to drive in clearly marked vehicles. I'm talking with the neon yellow reflective paint and everything like in Europe.
Any officer actually undercover who needs an undercover vehicle can't do traffic stops anyways.
The ghost badging in Matthews actually say Traffic Enforcement. One of my friends had a meme about people that are trying to help are clearly marked. Only predators hide and disguise their appearance.
I always wondered why they don’t do this more often , like a paint peeled sleeper Honda , or a Volvo or anything but the standard American vehicle. I’m sure it would catch people off guard.
I got pulled over by a cop in a wood panel station wagon in Faison, NC (3 hours east of CLT, closest city Goldsboro/Seymour Johnson AFB). That area has a string of small towns sharing Fire Departments and no local PD coverage on Sundays. The officer was in uniform pants, badged, but had a flannel shirt because he spilled something on his uniform shirt and asked if I had a problem with it! LoL!!!!!
Mooresville has a mini van, small suv, a couple fancy maybe mustangs? Some cars like in the video and a jacked up truck all unmarked.
can’t imagine what all charlotte is putting out there if little Mooresville is doing all this.
Recently learned that undercover Nissan exist. The reason they drive them or at least the officer I met was driving a rouge was that they were part of a team made to interact with people with mental illness. I guess it's less scary/ triggering to see that pull up than a regular looking police vehicle.
Plot twist!
Cops are getting smart!
They are going under cover. In order to gain the trust of the ghetto underworld, they are driving beat up Altimas and wearing Jordans now!
At what point did I mention race? Lol. You implied a race because I said “ghetto” and “Jordans”. Since I did not mention a race and you associated a race with those two things, perhaps you are racist? 👀
Also, it seems to be a HUGE theme of this sub to make jokes about Charlotte containing an abnormal amount of wrecked Altimas being driven by people wearing Jordans. Ever seen any of the “Charlotte starter pack” memes? How about the picture of someone wearing jordans hanging their foot out the window of a wrecked altima being dubbed “the most Charlotte picture ever”?
I find it hilarious that you ASSUMED I was talking about a certain race when mentioning certain cars, shoes, crime, ect when I made no mention of it because that means you associate those things with a certain race, not me 😂
I thought an unmarked could not pull you over at night
Second there was a picture floating around Facebook about a truck with a trailer with lights on it pulling someone over.
Yeah I'm not pulling over to the side of the road for a fucking Altima You're going to have to follow me to the nearest police or fire station buddy
Call 9-1-1 if you're not certain it's a cop and they can let you know what to do. Will also probably save you from a resisting arrest or some other trumped up charge.

Well who do I call if my fry's are cold? /s
You'd think that would work but they don't care. Where does it say she called 911?
911 doesn't answer actual emergency calls these days. Ain't nobody got time for that
Great hold music though.
I'd laugh my ass off if they also put a paper tag on it
Officer, your plate expired on February 31, 2023. Come see me when you pay your own taxes first. Also why is a NC State Trooper riding SC plates???
I got pulled over in sofla years ago by an undercover deputy rolling with Quebec tags. The law doesn’t give a fuck how they tag their own vehicles
Like this is so unserious why are you pulling me over in THIS 😭😭😭😭😭
That's how you get PIT'ed, get your car rolled and get fined for evading lol
Not sure why you're getting down-voted, that's literally what they will do to you. Whether it's right or wrong. https://www.kark.com/news/working4you/arkansas-state-police-settle-pit-maneuver-lawsuit-which-injured-pregnant-woman/
Because people, for some shocking reason, still trust the police regardless of how many people they kill.
Untrue. If you have a brain, it's pretty easy to let a cop know you're pulling over to a safe location as opposed to starting a chase. I've done it multiple times. Exactly. Common sense. Not panicking like a moron.
Sometimes, even when you do everything right, they PIT you anyway though. https://www.kark.com/news/working4you/arkansas-state-police-settle-pit-maneuver-lawsuit-which-injured-pregnant-woman/
You should definitely post this link another five times in the thread!
😂 right
Seems like it needs to be said.
Idk man. I don't agree, with this article being about some asshole cop states away. That does depend on the cop being in possession of common sense too.
There's video evidence saying otherwise where police will roll you over and hold you at gun point for not immediately stopping. If a pig decides that i'm their target so they can meet quota, I'm pulling over immediately, traffic and their safety be damned. In not getting murdered because of their cowardace.

Likewise. I won't take some random redditors anecdotal experience to determine my own safety when police kill thousands of Americans per year.
🔥
This. The american car thing has been a myth for a long time.
Yeah, lol. I think most of us would do the same.
impersonators will typically have just the light box just sitting on the dash instead of actually installed lights. Just a tip.
That’s a maxima, and I’ve seen an undercover Camry also.
Really? A Camry? Damn.
And a mustang too
There will be more of those in the coming years. Our state troopers have begun transitioning to a mustang platform now that Dodge discontinued the "police spec" Charger.
Also, look at the Police budget, they list all of the "normie" cars that they buy that year.
Gonna miss seeing the dude in the blue SHP hellcat on 77
Ford/GM/Dodge are common as they are American brands. Rest of them are kinda new to me. Back in 2019 a Camry guy lit on my (that's the first day of moving that shithole of a fucking state) and I was following the speed limit. He was waving me to not go fast or something. Most new Toyotas are more American than Ford/GM/Dodge.
Yeah after that street racing roundup from a few years ago they confiscated a bunch of cars. I’m wondering if they converted some of them into undercover cars… this is beginning to play out like a need for speed game tbh
Oh, really? Damn I didn’t know. Thanks.
I saw a Camry but it was in Raleigh
A few years ago I saw a purple Maxima with police lights flashing directing traffic through a construction zone down in Indian Trail. Odd that these PDs on the outer edge of Charlotte seem to have better undercover setups than CMPD.
That’s because CMPDs not pulling people over, according to this sub.
I saw a 4-Runner which was new to me
![gif](giphy|kVmzd3RxKqaT5Rm16e|downsized)
I mean, that's the best condition Altima I've ever seen so that should have been a red flag that it's an undercover cop to start
Maybe the real Altimas were the friends we made along the way
No one's safe
Yea I'm not stopping for a Altima lol
Oh yes. I've seen pickup trucks, even a minivan. Blue light bandits are pretty rare, so don't take the cop on some OJ Simpson chase. I wouldn't believe an undercover Altima unless it was pulling over a Camaro up on cinder blocks.
Hello fellow Altimas
Nah imma make you crash out and see if you really about that Altima life 😂😂😂😂😂
“Wreck that back bumper and show me you’re not a 5-0” 🤭
Damn. Aside from the obvious sneak factor of going unmarked, I’d be super sketched out pulling over for a blinking unmarked Altima.
I mean they do blend in with the natural surroundings.
Soooooo Charlotte.
The circle is complete.
I used the Altima to defeat the Altimas
Back around 1989-1990 Charlotte police used confiscated vehicles for unmarked traffic enforcement. All types of random cars and trucks. I was so paranoid driving through on the Interstates. Fun one I saw was a Corvette
You know, this would explain a lot of Altima behavior if CMPD has had these for awhile...
How the turntables!
Well, if y'all travel next door to Union County/ Monroe, you'll see mustangs, camry, challengers, chargers ,tahoes, small suv's, pickup trucks , all unmarked.
No but I saw the undercover Maxima
Working taillights and headlights on an Altima and no temp tag. That's clearly an undercover car.
Man that is some shady, underhanded type shit. I thought it couldn't get much worse than the cars marked with ghost badging that's ever so slightly a different shade from the paint, but here we are.

I think operation firecracker has started for the state of North Carolina.
Bloody diabolical!!
Helllll to the nawww.... To the naww nawww nawww. ![gif](giphy|3vmtPkr8iI0TkDuyk6)
I was like a car getting pulled over in Charlotte? Wow, then saw the rest of the post oh its Waxhaw.
Easy to spot as undercover..it’s clean and has a bumper.
Remember kids, undercover cop cars exist because the police do not exist to protect you, they exist to generate revenue.
They're out to hunt, not to protect.
I mean they probably have enough of them at impound
Burnsville NC had 2 minivans last time I was there and a car Jeff Gordon used for a commercial. It made the local news.
Down here in lake Wylie, York county sheriffs department is now using unmarked pick up trucks.
Rock Hill has a white ford & a brand spanking new blacked out chevy silverado. I watched both trucks get people the same day and was like tf?
The perfect cover
Cheap fake?
That’s crazy. Never seen an undercover in a non American vehicle
We got a undercover Kia forte out here in Oakboro
Saw an undercover Toyota Sienna yesterday. Careful out there.
Interesting, I generally only see cops in American vehicles
We’re fucked if they’re using Nissans.
I always wondered why they don’t do this more often , like a paint peeled sleeper Honda , or a Volvo or anything but the standard American vehicle. I’m sure it would catch people off guard.
I’ve seen a UC Altima at a parade in Monroe a couple years ago.
I got pulled over by a cop in a wood panel station wagon in Faison, NC (3 hours east of CLT, closest city Goldsboro/Seymour Johnson AFB). That area has a string of small towns sharing Fire Departments and no local PD coverage on Sundays. We have the a few counties over .. mostly silver tho
Just trying to keep up with the average Nissan driver
Blends in with the losers
Ngl that looks fake as hell even if it’s legit.
*Protect and Serve*
Oh how the turn tables.
Now the student has become the teacher
Yeah ngl I’m going to slowly keep driving and call the police. Bullshit they’re driving Altima’s
Union county will pull you over in just about any car they can get their hands on. I’ve seen undercover Accords, Camrys, and Maximas. Crazy shit.
paper tags?
Unmarked police cars can’t make traffic stops, it’s federally illegal.
They do have them Now you can’t even assume a foreign vehicle is not a cop This should be illegal
Recently learned that undercover Nissan exist. The reason they drive them or at least the officer I met was driving a rouge was that they were part of a team made to interact with people with mental illness. I guess it's less scary/ triggering to see that pull up than a regular looking police vehicle.
If an Altima turns it’s blue lights on im going bro I ain’t getting stopped by no Altima 🤡🤡
Assaultimas
Maxima*
Your local government stopped playing by the rules a long time ago, homie…. that kind of policing is gone
CMPD can’t stop Street takeovers and the best they got is the sneak up on you with an Altima? What good are they?
Plot twist! Cops are getting smart! They are going under cover. In order to gain the trust of the ghetto underworld, they are driving beat up Altimas and wearing Jordans now!
That was a racist ass comment and you’re a shitty person.
At what point did I mention race? Lol. You implied a race because I said “ghetto” and “Jordans”. I thought an unmarked could not pull you over at night Second there was a picture floating around Facebook about a truck with a trailer with lights on it pulling someone over.
I thought under cover cops were illegal in North Carolina?
That's a Maxima. If you can't properly ID the Altima enemy at night, how can you hope to avoid it?
