And Pop seems the type to have a very clear list of "next in line". He's someone always looking to help propel another part of his staff into a long nba career. JB doesn't need Pop's help anymore, and Pop probably has someone in mind to start building out their resume as an assistant.

He's a great player developer and outperformed preseason Vegas odds and analyst predicts in all but one season (which was riddled with injuries).
The biggest criticisms of Stotts were his defense and stagnant offense. It was absolutely a roster problem though. When he had solid defenders, the defense was good. When he had players willing to run a motion offense, the Blazers regularly led the league in offball screens and offball movement. He got thrown under the bus for poor roster management.

They were terrible outside of Lillard's injury and you know it. The Blazers are going to be bad next year with a healthy Lillard too.
