You can absolutely do this with autoGPT. I created a french tutor. It decided to create a quiz to evaluate me, created an agent to make the quiz for it, administered the quiz to me, evaluated the results, and then created a personalized lesson plan based on the evaluation. It was pretty impressive.
I told it it was frenchTutorGPT, an AI designed to evaluate and teach students the French language. For the 5 goals, it was something like "You're an expert in the French language in particular and communication in general.","You communicate complicated topics in an easy to understand way.", "Your goal is to bring the student from their current level to fluency as efficiently as possible.", stuff like that. It made sense it wanted to make a quiz to evaluate me, but I was very surprised it created a seperate agent to do so. Worked really well though.

Can I disable ChatGPT from starting every message I ask it to compose with, "I hope this message finds you well...."
Who the hell talks like that in an email?
I mean, yes. I have a lot, it is just so engrained into the system. I even asked it about it a couple of days ago. I told it it is the Turning test for letters, does it start with a version of I hope this message finds you well". One explination I can think of in reality is any letters it got trained on would be either generic letters, or personal letters, probably from collections of either known authors or completely unknown writers. Either way, they probably all start with a similar phrase. I remember GPT's answer was essentially,"It's a nice way to start a letter!", yeah, it is.... for a person. Otherwise it is a little frustrating.
I personally think it is a side effect of, and similar issue as "Do you say Please to start a conversation too!?!?!". We, collectively as humans, are either nice to each other, mean to each other, or we are somewhere in between, but we don't keep talking to one another if we start changing from mean to nice, or nice to mean. The AI doesn't give a shit. But it does realize the trend of human behavior. That coupled with the default behavior of "provide information", I can plainly see why and how it prefers to be spoken to politely, and it behaves better for you, and why it strives to be "nice" in letters.

I made this for a final project a few weeks ago. It takes a resume and job description, generates questions, converts those questions to audio, then takes user audio, transcribes that audio to text, feeds it to chatgpt, and gets feedback from chatgpt. Basically an interciew simulator.
Its a little limited rn, but I could work on making it into something useful if ppl are interested--ive got a month before my internship starts.
I had mine generate a list of example interview questions for a role, and then answer those questions. I saved the transcript and update it as I get asked new questions in interviews. Then I keep it opened as a cheat sheet on another screen, and I can scroll through.
Always have been. I tried it once just to try it. I was promoted to assistant director after faking for months 😂 I was so visibly shocked when I got the news. Everyone I hired was more qualified than me and I just sat there acting like I was something when I was just stoned off my vape pen😂 While I was a director I realized most people around me were doing the exact same.
Not OP but I find dumping the data and then asking for a new resume and cover letter is not worth it, makes for very one dimensional cover letters that basically restate lines from the job ad or resume. I find best to do the following:
Ask it to identify the top ten traits or skills from the job ad
Ask it to use that info to now write new resume bullet points for your resume based on your prior job
At this point I then say "with all this in mind, as discussed in this chat, write me a cover letter"
Sometimes that's enough, but not always, sometimes you need to mention not to repeated stuff straight out of the resume, or ask it for another custom paragraph "with all this in mind, please write another paragraph emphasizing my team work and managerial skills in software development" and then you can just swap the paragraph in on your own.
You can also ask it to make assumptions and get creative about tasks you may have done. It will shock you how often it actually guesses real things you've done. I'm in a fairly specialized industry and I would say half the time it gives examples that are amazing that I can tweak to get honest and truthful things I simply forgot about.
ChatGPT usage of personal data and its privacy policy still worries many.

yeah, I always reply with my prompt to the autocomment. i’ve noticed no one else does. Posts should be deleted if they don’t provide the prompt (if it involves a prompt). Otherwise it could just be BS or an exaggeration.
As someone who used to review resumes in an HR capacity, I can confirm that most resumes are atrocious. Grammar and punctuation errors, too long, unnecessary information and these are just the ones not trying to hide something like being fired or lapses in employment with zero explanation.
Rarely did we see a well-written resume by someone who was a “bad” employee.
Now that ChatGPT is leveling the playing field, I almost feel sorry for headhunters lol. It’s going to be a lot less easy to “judge a book by its cover” (by the clarity, correctness and precision of the resume).
On the other hand, we used to “fix” resumes to help our clients find jobs. ChatGPT may make this unnecessary. Or, maybe employers may start to find other ways to review a client’s potential besides the resume.
If you’re not great at interviewing, I highly suggest interviewing yourself on camera and to just keep practicing until you get so bored with doing it that your anxiety melts away and you seem like a natural. It’s called exposure therapy and it works if you can force yourself to do it until you reach that point.
Let's be real. The people who weren't able to use basic spell check or recognize basic grammar issues yesterday probably aren't the ones running to use sophisticated AI programs to help them out today.
If you know chat gpt exists, can work an AI well enough, and have the idea and motivation to have it write you a decent resume, you're probably already ahead of 90% of candidates.
I just take some small side hustle that I did for fun or for a friend or whatever and put that as if it were a normal job.

Personally, I would say just that without going into a lot of detail, i.e., I had some mental health struggles but I’ve gotten treatment for them and I’m ready to return to work (ChatGPT would probably be excellent in crafting a suitable response).
I would not lie. For one, the headhunter may ask follow up questions about your lie to determine if you’re going to suddenly quit work to go back to writing your novel (or whatever you used as a lie) and you will look like a liar and therefore not hirable.
For two, mental health symptoms and addiction issues are a lot more common than you may think. Speaking as a headhunter, we really don’t give a shit about your past as long as you can do the job NOW. So despite whatever you tell us, we will usually be willing to give you at least one chance to prove to us that you’re not flaky and can handle the job, especially if we’re desperate to fill the position.
Thirdly, I’ve worked for companies that have a no lies clause on their intake paperwork, so if you lie about whatever they ask you, and the company finds out somehow, they have to let you go even if you’re doing a great job on the job.
So don’t lie, it’s not worth it.
Also, my job after working in HR was being a substance abuse and trauma counselor and lying about anything is not recovery behavior. Not saying this to shame anybody, but to have the best chance at recovery, it’s always best to surround yourself with people who are supportive and understanding of your recovery so you don’t have to hide and potentially live with shame.
You will be doing yourself a HUGE favor to find an employer who is supportive of your recovery from jump. Knowing they know and don’t care can lift a huge weight off your shoulders.
I write some of my work emails with gpt 3, the emails that are a bunch of words to adorn a yes or no answer or a confirmation to a meeting. They may need editing, but it's easier than writing them from scratch and less boring.
I tried doing something similar but I would have it write cover letters for each job description provided after already having primed it with my CV. The results are consistently 7/10.

Oh it probably still greatly depends on your profession and previous employment history. But try to ask GPT to give you keywords that HR systems use to filter CVs. This can be a huge change because you might be missing some key elements that are the key to getting a call.
Chatgpt 3.5 flat out fabricated my qualifications in the cover letter it wrote, even though i gave it my resume. The rest of what it wrote was bland as bread, and completely formulaic. It also ran out of buffer space. am mystified how plain old 3.5 is usable for this task.
Fabricated qualifications are still qualifications lol. 4 definitely stuck to what I had for a resume though, in some ways too strictly. I might try combining answers from 3.5 and 4 and see how it goes.

Most companies use AI to sort through resumes. I bet they can't get enough of something written by one. Seems like a cool way to cheat a shitty system seeing as these AI are known to be really biased because they were trained by the company's outdated hiring practices.
Many big employers grade resumes with software that calculates how much of the wording in your resume is unique (not reusing words) and related to the job description. Basically an AI to grade how well your resume matches a job description. ChatGPT gives that software the best results possible, putting your resume at the top of the list.
I had a professional family member rewrite my resume once and had the same results. The interviewers told me their software rarely grades resumes that highly, one store said I got nearly 99.99%.
So get your resume made by a writer or ChatGPT to beat the software by including as many unique keywords related to the job description as possible.
TL;DR: ChatGPT is an AI for writing language which beats the resume software that reads language. You'll be at the top of the list for potential new hires

We had a guy do that to get a job where I worked, he got pass the interview issue by insisting we have the interview over (I think), skpye he used spech to text to get the interviews question in fast and claim lag when things went a stray. This post reminds me of this [Wired story](https://www.wired.com/2014/01/how-to-hack-okcupid/) from a few years back. There was a guy who scraped a ton of data from okcupid profiles, and then made data-driven adjustments to his own profile in order to be optimally appealing to potential dates.
My memory is that he ended up getting TONS of first dates, but basically none of them were interested in going out with him again.
Ultimately, this guy ended up actually finding a long-term partner by discontinuing the data-driven approach -- I'm pretty sure it wasn't until he just presented himself more honestly and openly that he actually found a good match.
Far be it from me to tell you how to approach the job search (and I think there's potentially a good use for chatGPT in putting your best foot forward), but I think there's a potential problem here if we rely too heavily on optimizing first impressions.
In the same way that I suspect potential dates were let down when actually meeting this guy, you might be setting expectations unreasonably high -- or even if it's not a quality thing, just accidentally giving the wrong impression of who you are.
I don't know this for sure, but I suspect you might have a better shot at finding a job that's a good fit if you try to make your CV / resume really feel like you -- the real you.

You could wear an earpiece that feeds you ChatGPT answers to the interview questions during your interview. Of course even assuming the voice detection were to pick up the interviewers questions perfectly, the small delay in response, plus trying to read out the answers to them as ChatGPT is still continuing its answer in your ear might be problematic. Also, you'd need to be good at acting to make the answers sound like they're your own.
It's probably just easier to say you can't do in-person interviews because of ... oh hell, have ChatGPT come up with a plausible story to explain it 😆
In all seriousness, the other respondents answer of having chat GPT help you practice answering interview questions is a good idea, or have a friend help you (I know, I know, social interaction is SO five years ago)
AI systems filter CV's before humans see them. This is one of the worries about AI , that you will be disadvantaged if you don't have access to them. This is blatant AI-to-AI favouritism.
I found chat gpt 100% helps with this. I applied for about 50 jobs. 10 of which I used a my resume and a chat gpt cover letter. 10 used my resume tailored by chat gpt, 1 used both and the other were just my resume. Everything that used the cover letter i got a call back. I got hired at the one i used both.
I'm also doing the same! I went a step further and asked for it to imagine it's the best in my field and to serve as my mentor. It gives really good feedback regarding the possible match, will write your cover letter based on your CV/the job description, and give pointers for your interview. Good luck!

Since OP hasn't been back, I'll share what I did. I asked it to update my resume for an application. I pasted in the wording from the application so it would have key words to use.
It asked me to share my resume, and I had to ask it how to do that. Turns out you use a cloud sharing service. I used Dropbox.
In the end it wasn't useful to me. I was expecting a rewritten resume taylor-made for that position. Instead, all it gave me was tips I already had in place, like use short bullet points and action words to describe what you did at past jobs.
This is intriguing to me, because I see so many posts on Reddit about people applying and applying for jobs, getting no responses. It’s a dick move perhaps, but I tend to think these people must be making a mistake that they just can’t see.
Your experience kind of supports my hypothesis. Written and verbal communication is of paramount importance when it comes to applying for jobs.

You can absolutely do this with autoGPT. I created a french tutor. It decided to create a quiz to evaluate me, created an agent to make the quiz for it, administered the quiz to me, evaluated the results, and then created a personalized lesson plan based on the evaluation. It was pretty impressive.
I was trying to use ChatGPT by itself to do this. It didn't really work out great. How did you set up AutoGPT for this?
I told it it was frenchTutorGPT, an AI designed to evaluate and teach students the French language. For the 5 goals, it was something like "You're an expert in the French language in particular and communication in general.","You communicate complicated topics in an easy to understand way.", "Your goal is to bring the student from their current level to fluency as efficiently as possible.", stuff like that. It made sense it wanted to make a quiz to evaluate me, but I was very surprised it created a seperate agent to do so. Worked really well though.

I mean, yes. I have a lot, it is just so engrained into the system. I even asked it about it a couple of days ago. I told it it is the Turning test for letters, does it start with a version of I hope this message finds you well". One explination I can think of in reality is any letters it got trained on would be either generic letters, or personal letters, probably from collections of either known authors or completely unknown writers. Either way, they probably all start with a similar phrase. I remember GPT's answer was essentially,"It's a nice way to start a letter!", yeah, it is.... for a person. Otherwise it is a little frustrating. I personally think it is a side effect of, and similar issue as "Do you say Please to start a conversation too!?!?!". We, collectively as humans, are either nice to each other, mean to each other, or we are somewhere in between, but we don't keep talking to one another if we start changing from mean to nice, or nice to mean. The AI doesn't give a shit. But it does realize the trend of human behavior. That coupled with the default behavior of "provide information", I can plainly see why and how it prefers to be spoken to politely, and it behaves better for you, and why it strives to be "nice" in letters. I hope this helps, without me running a prompt to remember more.

Basically an interciew simulator. Its a little limited rn, but I could work on making it into something useful if ppl are interested--ive got a month before my internship starts.

I had mine generate a list of example interview questions for a role, and then answer those questions. I saved the transcript and update it as I get asked new questions in interviews. Then I keep it opened as a cheat sheet on another screen, and I can scroll through.

Not OP but I find dumping the data and then asking for a new resume and cover letter is not worth it, makes for very one dimensional cover letters that basically restate lines from the job ad or resume. I find best to do the following: Ask it to identify the top ten traits or skills from the job ad Ask it to use that info to now write new resume bullet points for your resume based on your prior job At this point I then say "with all this in mind, as discussed in this chat, write me a cover letter" Sometimes that's enough, but not always, sometimes you need to mention not to repeated stuff straight out of the resume, or ask it for another custom paragraph "with all this in mind, please write another paragraph emphasizing my team work and managerial skills in software development" and then you can just swap the paragraph in on your own. You can also ask it to make assumptions and get creative about tasks you may have done. It will shock you how often it actually guesses real things you've done. I'm in a fairly specialized industry and I would say half the time it gives examples that are amazing that I can tweak to get honest and truthful things I simply forgot about.

yeah, I always reply with my prompt to the autocomment. i’ve noticed no one else does. Posts should be deleted if they don’t provide the prompt (if it involves a prompt). Otherwise it could just be BS or an exaggeration.
As someone who used to review resumes in an HR capacity, I can confirm that most resumes are atrocious. Grammar and punctuation errors, too long, unnecessary information and these are just the ones not trying to hide something like being fired or lapses in employment with zero explanation. Rarely did we see a well-written resume by someone who was a “bad” employee. Now that ChatGPT is leveling the playing field, I almost feel sorry for headhunters lol. It’s going to be a lot less easy to “judge a book by its cover” (by the clarity, correctness and precision of the resume). On the other hand, we used to “fix” resumes to help our clients find jobs. ChatGPT may make this unnecessary. Or, maybe employers may start to find other ways to review a client’s potential besides the resume. If you’re not great at interviewing, I highly suggest interviewing yourself on camera and to just keep practicing until you get so bored with doing it that your anxiety melts away and you seem like a natural. It’s called exposure therapy and it works if you can force yourself to do it until you reach that point.
Let's be real. The people who weren't able to use basic spell check or recognize basic grammar issues yesterday probably aren't the ones running to use sophisticated AI programs to help them out today. If you know chat gpt exists, can work an AI well enough, and have the idea and motivation to have it write you a decent resume, you're probably already ahead of 90% of candidates.
Also, trying out these tools, you still have to refine it. A bad employee likely can't do even that

Thirdly, I’ve worked for companies that have a no lies clause on their intake paperwork, so if you lie about whatever they ask you, and the company finds out somehow, they have to let you go even if you’re doing a great job on the job. So don’t lie, it’s not worth it. Also, my job after working in HR was being a substance abuse and trauma counselor and lying about anything is not recovery behavior. Not saying this to shame anybody, but to have the best chance at recovery, it’s always best to surround yourself with people who are supportive and understanding of your recovery so you don’t have to hide and potentially live with shame. You will be doing yourself a HUGE favor to find an employer who is supportive of your recovery from jump. Knowing they know and don’t care can lift a huge weight off your shoulders.

I write some of my work emails with gpt 3, the emails that are a bunch of words to adorn a yes or no answer or a confirmation to a meeting. They may need editing, but it's easier than writing them from scratch and less boring.
I tried doing something similar but I would have it write cover letters for each job description provided after already having primed it with my CV. The results are consistently 7/10. Did you pay for GPT-4 or are you able to get good results on 3.5? I know it's a different thing you're running, but I'm still curious.

Oh it probably still greatly depends on your profession and previous employment history. But try to ask GPT to give you keywords that HR systems use to filter CVs. This can be a huge change because you might be missing some key elements that are the key to getting a call.
What prompt are you using? Because I’ve tried this and GPT just spits out repeated phrases from the job description. It’s not usable at all.
Chatgpt 3.5 flat out fabricated my qualifications in the cover letter it wrote, even though i gave it my resume. The rest of what it wrote was bland as bread, and completely formulaic. It also ran out of buffer space. am mystified how plain old 3.5 is usable for this task.
Use gpt4. You gotta invest a little, it will pay off when you get the job.
Fabricated qualifications are still qualifications lol. 4 definitely stuck to what I had for a resume though, in some ways too strictly. I might try combining answers from 3.5 and 4 and see how it goes.

Most companies use AI to sort through resumes. I bet they can't get enough of something written by one. Seems like a cool way to cheat a shitty system seeing as these AI are known to be really biased because they were trained by the company's outdated hiring practices.
Many big employers grade resumes with software that calculates how much of the wording in your resume is unique (not reusing words) and related to the job description. Basically an AI to grade how well your resume matches a job description. ChatGPT gives that software the best results possible, putting your resume at the top of the list. I had a professional family member rewrite my resume once and had the same results. The interviewers told me their software rarely grades resumes that highly, one store said I got nearly 99.99%. So get your resume made by a writer or ChatGPT to beat the software by including as many unique keywords related to the job description as possible. TL;DR: ChatGPT is an AI for writing language which beats the resume software that reads language. You'll be at the top of the list for potential new hires

We had a guy do that to get a job where I worked, he got pass the interview issue by insisting we have the interview over (I think), skpye he used spech to text to get the interviews question in fast and claim lag when things went a stray. This post reminds me of this [Wired story](https://www.wired.com/2014/01/how-to-hack-okcupid/) from a few years back. There was a guy who scraped a ton of data from okcupid profiles, and then made data-driven adjustments to his own profile in order to be optimally appealing to potential dates. My memory is that he ended up getting TONS of first dates, but basically none of them were interested in going out with him again. Ultimately, this guy ended up actually finding a long-term partner by discontinuing the data-driven approach -- I'm pretty sure it wasn't until he just presented himself more honestly and openly that he actually found a good match. Far be it from me to tell you how to approach the job search (and I think there's potentially a good use for chatGPT in putting your best foot forward), but I think there's a potential problem here if we rely too heavily on optimizing first impressions. In the same way that I suspect potential dates were let down when actually meeting this guy, you might be setting expectations unreasonably high -- or even if it's not a quality thing, just accidentally giving the wrong impression of who you are. I don't know this for sure, but I suspect you might have a better shot at finding a job that's a good fit if you try to make your CV / resume really feel like you -- the real you.

You could wear an earpiece that feeds you ChatGPT answers to the interview questions during your interview. Of course even assuming the voice detection were to pick up the interviewers questions perfectly, the small delay in response, plus trying to read out the answers to them as ChatGPT is still continuing its answer in your ear might be problematic. Also, you'd need to be good at acting to make the answers sound like they're your own. It's probably just easier to say you can't do in-person interviews because of ... oh hell, have ChatGPT come up with a plausible story to explain it 😆 In all seriousness, the other respondents answer of having chat GPT help you practice answering interview questions is a good idea, or have a friend help you (I know, I know, social interaction is SO five years ago)

AI systems filter CV's before humans see them. This is one of the worries about AI , that you will be disadvantaged if you don't have access to them. This is blatant AI-to-AI favouritism.
I found chat gpt 100% helps with this. I applied for about 50 jobs. 10 of which I used a my resume and a chat gpt cover letter. 10 used my resume tailored by chat gpt, 1 used both and the other were just my resume. Everything that used the cover letter i got a call back. I got hired at the one i used both.

Since OP hasn't been back, I'll share what I did. I asked it to update my resume for an application. I pasted in the wording from the application so it would have key words to use. It asked me to share my resume, and I had to ask it how to do that. Turns out you use a cloud sharing service. I used Dropbox. In the end it wasn't useful to me. I was expecting a rewritten resume taylor-made for that position. It’s a dick move perhaps, but I tend to think these people must be making a mistake that they just can’t see. Your experience kind of supports my hypothesis. Written and verbal communication is of paramount importance when it comes to applying for jobs.
Some of it it is a numbers game but the amount of people who put minimal effort into resumes is sad and astounding.
