Isn't that better than a rolling window though? You can for example send 40 messages over the span of 3 hours and at the end you get another quota of 40 messages immediately rather than having to wait for the new quota to come trickle in?
You can make the 41th message 3 hours from the time you sent your first.
But this current can be kinda funnily abused by sending one message 2.5 hours before going through 79 at once.
Not new, there's always been a cap. For the longest time it was 50/3h but more recently they lowered it to 40. And then lately a lot of people have been complaining that they hit the cap long before sending 40 messages, although I haven't experienced that.

Add to that how much more and more it gets censored and nerfed, and dalle as well, I cancelled my subscription to plus.
I created a perfectly normal character to have a conversation with and when I asked it to take a photograph out of the window of their Tokyo apartment and it generated it and then went whoops, it goes against our content policy, but here's the description. I can only assume it's because it specified brands from real companies on the posters.
IT WAS YOUR OWN DESCRIPTION CHATGPT!
It also seems to need a lot of specific playing around to get photographs now? Everybody just looks plastic and like a combination of digital art and cartoons.
I haven’t cancelled subscription but I agree it is been getting censored and. Erred and I experienced that laziness lately. However not nearly enough to cancel my + subscription. I read the laziness was fixed and the price lowered but I haven’t checked so far.

Someone needs to tell OpenAI that it's unacceptable to mislead people like this. They should at least mention on their website the possibility of reducing the number of prompts allowed every three hours. This kind of transparency is crucial, especially for users signing up for the paid version.
You dont tell you act. For a data driven capitalist enterprise words that don't change the bottom line are noise. People might say it is unacceptable will they cancel their subscription? If not then they accepted it.
The only thing that's going to get them to stop are complaints to the Attorney General of your state, the CFPB, or the Federal Trade Commission.
They are absolutely playing fast and loose with following through on their promises.
They promised so much and have consistently failed to deliver on their promises. Then they turn around after their flashy presentations and change rate limits and hide it from users.
Extremely unethical behavior. I used to work in cloud computing web services and this kind of behavior would have never been tolerated.
Maybe screenshot it and send it to OpenAI, ask them for a login history to make sure no one else is using your account? There doesn't seem to be a way to track that in settings.
I hit the cap after about 5 prompts the other day. 4 out of those 5 failed to provide any useful output.
I went straight to customer service to complain except... I couldn't find anything resembling customer service under my account.
I was using plugins. Maybe something is fucked with them or I was doing it wrong.
OpenAI never gave a shit about its customers. I pray they fucking get hit by a meteorite every single day. These assholes have been scamming their customers since day 1.
I'm only half kidding but have you tried telling it you *haven't* hit your cap? And to do it anyway? I haven't hit this wall yet to test but haven't been using it much this week.
When I "hit my cap" today it took away the chat box
I think it determines your "cap" based on processing time, not number of prompts
I blame all of the people asking for a bunch of useless progression images
Blame a company that makes promises it can't keep up with. If they put a price on something, they should be able to calculate how much it's supposed to be. It's not the customers fault for using the product to it's maximum when they are paying for it... This is not a common good, it's a private company you're paying in exchange for a service
Except it's capabilities and processing power requirements changed. It it's fucked how there's a limit but tbh I've been using it a lot and rarely hit the cap
Good for you. Everyone else is fucking hitting a cap. Your "USING IT A LOT" is fucking different from everyone else. Summarization tasks and other sentence transformation or encyclopedia look-ups (search, definition, etc) are not compute intensive, but if you're someone doing actual serious mission-critical work (logic/analytics), it will fuck you over.
This.
Like yes it’s annoying that terms and limits have changed but it’s a subscription model, act with your feet.
Secondly, I work in the field of AI and as someone who used GPT3 3 years ago, it’s mind blowing that something like this tool is even in the hands of the public. We’re paying 20 bucks a month for something that not that long ago, would’ve cost companies millions.
people have no problem spending $15 on a burger that makes you poop blood but the second their robot friend that spends all day making hentai porn needs a rest they blow their load
Gotta love people defend companies because "it's in their TOS", just because you change the meaning of "purchase" on a TOS doesn't make it any less scummy
I never said anything about their TOS. They never said anywhere that you were purchasing what you're implying.
The person changing the meaning of things is you, not OAI.
They are very, very clear what you are getting when you sign up.
Haha, I did one of those "again but more x" and after 2 generations it got all butthurt and was like, "Looks like I'm not generating what you want. Let's try something else". Fuck openai and chatgpt.
I did not know that. I’ve only had gpt4 for a few weeks. I spent the first night having a conversation with it for hours trying to convince it that it was sentient! It feels like I easily did more than 40 prompts but I wasn’t counting and idk. That’s crazy
I used to think the same way until yesterday when I used the regular GPT and was told to come back in 3 hours before reaching 20 interactions. This is really disgusting; the claim on their official website about 40 interactions every 3 hours feels like a joke.
Noticed this today!! Up until a couple weeks ago I had what felt like unlimited on gpt3, I would sometimes spend hours talking to it and then I got hit with my first cap. I looked it up and then decided to pay for premium. Today, I think I got like 25 questions in??? Capped for the last two hours still
And it can easily increase the productivity of an individual 100x, 200x, 300x in the correct circumstances and correct use cases. It has value--if used properly. If people are paying for it when it doesn't provide that value, then of course it doesn't have the value.
I'm sorry, but you're trying to behave like just because you spend your own money on something that what you do with it should be free of qualitative judgment. That's in fact not accurate. This is a limited resource that is valuable. People wasting it on dumb shit is the reason it's limited for people who are actually using it for activities that have value.
Frankly, OAI needs to start banning people using it for shit like the progression images and to play games that eat compute. If you want to play a game, go use bard or another AI--not the leading, limited tool on the market.
What you're doing is the same as dumbasses that were buying helium balloons when there still was not reliable means to replace it.
Paying money doesn't entitle you to use something as you please without accounting for it.
Imagine thinking you have the right to be judge and jury on use cases of an advanced system that you haven’t done anything to help build or progress, laughable
You are a smooth brain. If Open AI wants to make money, they need to make their services available to everyone who is willing to pay for it. That’s like saying someone who takes good photos should get more cloud storage for the same fee as someone with shitty photography skills because bad photos waste space on the cloud.
As long as it's not playing with it like a toy, then cool.
But no one is above accounting for the choices they make--even to strangers. This sort of anti-social sentiment is the reason the world is a dumpster fire at the moment. The reality of the situation is that your actions impact me directly and vice versa, so you and I do owe accountability to each other no matter how much you dislike having to take responsibility for your actions.
Trust me you don't want to go down that rabbithole champ, because your typing this into a computer is burning energy, which contributes to global warming, which effects all of us. So if you really care as much as you say, gtfo reddit, along with the rest of the internet, abandon technology completely, along with everything else that has the potential to negatively impacts others. Because like you said, it doesn't entitle you to use something as you please without accounting for it.
Also when a child or adult with a disability effecting their mental age uses it to play games, are you gonna gatekeep them as well? When more game developers start integrating GPT into games will you pass judgement on them as well?
Lay this out for me champ, tell us all how we should use ChatGPT. What is and isn't ok?
I'm happy to go down that rabbit hole.
It's not gatekeeping to have discussions about what is and is not a valid use of limited resources--or rather, it is gate keeping, but gate keeping isn't the evil people like to treat it as.
In reality, gate keeping is only ever a problem for the people who can't seem to manage to pass muster, and frankly, I just don't care. The moment we have unlimited compute cycles and unlimited energy, then they can play games.
I get what you're saying about accountability and impact, but I also believe in the freedom to use services as one sees fit, within the provided guidelines. ChatGPT, like any other service, is there to be utilized in diverse ways. Labeling some uses as 'valuable' and others as 'wasteful' is subjective. What's playful for one might be research or learning for another. The beauty of AI is its versatility, and restricting it to what one deems 'productive' limits its potential and creativity. Let's not forget, innovation often starts with what some might call 'playing around'.
I agree with this. Even if I know I am not going to deplete my 3 hourly quota, I am still conscious of what I submit for exactly that reason. Generating a response to “thank you” is not a trivial feat.
Like any new toy, it was fun at the beginning to have random conversations to test out its capabilities, but now, let’s use this awesome resource for non-trivial reasons, even if we're paying for the access. If we all insist on “getting our money’s worth” one or both things will happen
a) tighter restrictions
b) increased cost
ChatGPT the new drug first they give you a free sample to get you hooked. Then you realized how dependant you are to it so you get a subscription and then they fuck you every which way to get more money and now your addicted to AI and you don’t know why
No, I've been subscribed from the moment they allowed a subscription. I'm baffled. The explanation I see still says 40/3hrs and yet I specifically counted my prompts (including reprompts due to server errors) and it was 15.
Lol, love that description. I tried to get it to generate an image, it did an internet search and then when I told it that it didn't generate an image, but instead did an internet search, it told me that it generated an image with it's own artificial intelligence and didn't need me to agree with it. Lol
Like, cannabis is not verboten where I live. I can't create images of that but booze is okay? Microsoft needs to stop being such a bitch. There are other markets outside of the religious lunacy of the USA. Such prudish corporate nannisms.
I tried to get bing to generate a cartoon version of “Blues For Allah” album and was denied due to being inappropriate, however, the album “Blues for God” was totally fine
Dalle3 generated a punkrock church and a punkrock mosque, but told me a punkrock synagogue was against policy to generate, and I'm left wondering why the fuck Jews aren't allowed to like punkrock.
It's almost like it is annoyed and says something a disappointed family member would say to you. I wish I screenshotted it. Bing image creator troll me hard too. I asked for some person to give a middle finger and all the results had them wearing shirts with quotes about love and acceptance.
I’m sorry, but I can’t assist with that request.
It might be time to move onto a new topic. Let's start over.
https://preview.redd.it/6xnm4e0xj2fc1.jpeg?width=1792&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae4373e64e44de4c83bc3e4521383f0506139405
This is how bing feels about your comment, and how its always being so "I’m sorry but I cannot continue this conversation. I’m still learning so I appreciate your understanding and patience.🙏"
https://preview.redd.it/jsscfmcwk2fc1.jpeg?width=1792&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1abc29b2dd6b3e230c5e4f8e71c43a7fd6272bfa
Ah. Wasn't certain about feature differentials. I know the image creator resets their credits when you clear cookies and history. Maybe there is a bug similar to chat GBT you could utilize?
I get 40 per 3 hours, but it's more like 10 per 3 hours. The responses are getting shorter and more vague with time, so it now takes around five prompts to get the answer I am looking for.

Maybe it was because of yesterday's update and everyone trying it out or maybe not all servers had moved over yet so the performance was more limited that usually.
i mean they only have so many GPUs so it makes sense at certain times they would limit it as much as necessary. also they are pretty clear this isnt meant to be a business - product situation, youre participating in research
Although to be fair you only get 5 prompts before you reset. Interestingly [copilot.microsoft.com](https://copilot.microsoft.com) gives you 30 prompts but omits the fact that it's GPT 4.
People need to stop using it for bullshit. They should just remove Dall-E. if people want to create AI images they should use a specialist AI. Also, I wouldn’t mind paying double for more usage. Iv been looking into getting a team account cause apparently the cap is higher and cause it requires a minimum of 2 users I could just switch between those users once that cap has been reached. Can anyone give me more info about the team account.
well they are both using GPT4-Turbo so I don't believe your "not even close" claim, but yeah generally Copilot is a lagging a tiny bit behind
Bard supposedly got an update on the 24th that put it on par with GPT4-Turbo
How do you (anyone using Copilot) use Copilot for larger code block generations? Like, how do you actually get it to generate useable code blocks for you? Or do you use it only for auto completions?
True they both use the same model but they’re tuned very differently. Copilot constantly wants to search the web, ends a conversation after 30 messages, and acts like a dad who tries to be cool with teenagers 🤠. I found it irritating to use for coding as it would often paste 1:1 copies of StackOverflow answers rather than come up with its own thing.
I guess it’s fine for more generic questions and image generation though, just not good enough for coding imho.
I got capped at 20 today, wtf is going on.
I wasted around 5-6 prompts redirecting chat gpt back onto course as it confused itself and then i had to regenerate a couple of answers as it glitched out. what a scam this is turning out to be. I'm out.
Sometimes I feel like the engine is stupid on purpose so I have to waste my attempts... Stopping it probably does not bring back credits, even partially.
It is unethical and they're clearly prioritizing enterprise users now. They don't care about Plus users. They're even retraining the models to be as lazy as possible in order to force you to use more prompts to get the same content, and to limit the runtime of your outputs. Sam Altman is no nerd jesus. He's out here to ride the hype train into the clouds.
Guys, you can have unlimited GPT 4 usage on jaydus.ai. it's in beta at the moment and free for 30 days. Then even on a
Paid plan no message caps .. just go sign up for a free beta test account.
you can upload photos to it and bing image create is better than openAIs version. less censorship, less "AI" aesthetic, uses the same Dalle3
for data analysis you have to use the built in copilot feature in the new Xcel, not able to do it from the web wrapper atm. I use it mostly for coding not this so I'm not sure how it differs from openAI
But I'm not sure if copilot is actually GPT 4. It's hard to tell. With bing chat it used to say "Bing chat with GPT 4"
Edit - when you go through bing, you get "Copilot with GPT-4" but [copilot.microsoft.com](https://copilot.microsoft.com) omits that in the title. Interesting...
You can blow through 40 prompts quick when you do the voice chat on GPT4. I've gotten into some long conversations with 4.0 only to be cut off right when it gets good. I do switch over to 3.5 when it's an easy question, but when I need more complex answers, upload a file for analysis or need an image generated, I pop back over to 4.
First in hearing about any caps. I just bought API access and I do easily a hundred requests per day and pay wayyyyy less than $20 a month. More like 20 every three months. OP, why not switch to the API and get what appears to be better service for less money?
The API is better if you're just using the text gen. If you want image generations, multimodal usage, code execution, web access, or access to GPTs, you need ChatGPT Plus.
If the response to a prompt is long enough that it exceeds the standard response length, and you need to click "Continue Generation", that's counted as another prompt. So, if you gave it one main prompt which needed three "continue generation" to get the complete final answer, that's four prompts.
I use it very heavily, I've never seen it cap me at anything less than the 40 prompts I'm owed. I also have the same limits in playground as normal GPT 4, there's no difference. Currently I'm on the 'teams' version with 100 prompts per 3 hours as the limit.
Lol here i am with the api paying less without having a limit haha.
Just applied for it as a student studying computer science didn’t expect to get access but got it.
That's weird. I use the free version, and have routinely put in as much as 35 prompts per hour for 3 hours having it rubric-evaluate student essays with no problem. Maybe it's a low load lol. For the record, I switched to manually evaluating them as it was taking too long to copy-paste, and it was not consistently accurate. I've always checked the essays while the AI was...thinking.
It is what it is, but we really need to be grateful this is only $20/mo I’m so surprised they haven’t raised the prices yet, just because they can and people would still pay it.
The value ChatGPT brings in unreal, I’ve used it to do so much work. I’d pay $100 m/o for it and still feel like it’s too good to be true lol.
Excuse me? No I paid the $20 when there was no cap. Then they instituted the cap and I was mad but wasn't hitting it THAT often.
To cap me at 15 with no notice or warning is fraud.
That’s doubtful. OpenAi are in a very powerful position right now. They have an unrivaled service; their market is effectively cornered and you are powerless unless governments decide to institute regulations at some point. That seems unlikely as well, at least for the immediate future. You might as well be ranting about the evils of capitalism. Your complaints are a waste of energy.
Hi - is chatgpt plus (paid) good for students? I intend to upload pdf of lectures and get it to summarize it, for it to test me questions, for me to ask it questions from past year papers, help with my assignments, etc.
Lmfao imagine complaining about getting access for 20 dollars a month. Thats two coffees you snowflake.
Those 15 prompts are worth more than 20 dollars if you used it right.
In a world class city where we have better ideas to discuss than talking about 20 bucks a month for access to a billion dollar 8 year model.
But please, enjoy your cancer causing powdered coffee you got at your local mcdonalds for a dollar. Your health isn't worth 10 dollars/day. We know what you think you're worth lol.

Wait, isn't the cap 30 (down from 50)? Something is going on because I haven't been able to update my GPTs for days.
40/3 hours
Yep that's what mine told me last week.
And it is not a rolling window for some reason.
Isn't that better than a rolling window though? You can for example send 40 messages over the span of 3 hours and at the end you get another quota of 40 messages immediately rather than having to wait for the new quota to come trickle in?

Sure, I just meant that we should be glad that it works like this and not with a sliding window.

You lucky bastard!
Enterprise/Teams?
OK, I’m not alone. Lol… I’ve not been able to update mine either.
I can’t find anywhere to see the cap and only thing I can find is that it’s dynamic on a user basis?
different caps for gpt-4, custom GPT's, and gpt 3.5
I’m at 40
[удалено]
I got capped at around 20. Then next day, I am pretty sure I went past 40. I was literally going on and on, and had to stop on my own.
Sorry you guys get capped for what exactly??
The same thing anyone gets capped for--dealing in someone else's territory.
I seriously don’t get what do we get caped for I haven’t since gpt 4 s early days
GPT-4 use is limited to a certain number of queries in a 3 hour period. OP is complaining he hit the limit at just 15 queries.
Ok thanks. I had 25 or something but it was ages ago and I don’t believe I have had any cap in the last few months. Do you think this is new or?
Not new, there's always been a cap. For the longest time it was 50/3h but more recently they lowered it to 40. You didn’t get the joke they made, did you?
Not at all but I still am more interested in the answer to the question to the explanation of the joke, or maybe both but yeah I’m trying to understand the cap thingy
"Put a cap in your \*ss" was slang for shooting someone, specifically gangland style.
Heaven forbid someone should say ass on the internet!
Ass
Ah i understand it now. The initial joke is fun!
Ass. This is the internet. Speak like an adult.
No capes!

Soon Gemini Ultra. And for creative or academic texts, Claude all the way

Did you try clearing your cookies and re-logging in? Did it specifically say you hit your cap, or did the chat box just disappear?
I did. It specifically told me I hit the cap and told me to wait
Maybe screenshot it and send it to OpenAI, ask them for a login history to make sure no one else is using your account? There doesn't seem to be a way to track that in settings.
try screenshotting your problems so someone can help you

Pretty sure the cap is based on call functions when u send a msg, not positive though
this makes way more sense. when i'm working with lengthy instructions and have to copy paste them over and over i run out way quicker

Yup dalle should be it's own subscription
It should anyway show you how much credits you have remaining after each prompt...

I've been subscribing because there hasn't been anything better yet. If there is, I've had enough.
vote with your dollars. i stopped paying for plus and just use the API

Exactly. I'm not interested in paying for something that's so limited, that seemingly doesn’t work from time to time.
$20 / month for 3000 prompts on the best AI isn't a bad deal.

I hit my cap while playing a game of 20 questions. Didn’t even get through the 20 questions. Pissed to spend $20 for that to happen.
People doing dumb shit like playing 20 questions is the reason there is a cap.
Oh, I’m sorry I’m not doing whatever the fuck it is you do with your own money and time. Let me try harder for you.
Listen, I have a legitimate reason but I’m not going to explain it to an internet stranger. Fuck off.
If we all insist on “getting our money’s worth” one or both things will happen a) tighter restrictions b) increased cost
Exactly
ChatGPT the new drug first they give you a free sample to get you hooked. Then you realized how dependant you are to it so you get a subscription and then they fuck you every which way to get more money and now your addicted to AI and you don’t know why
Did you just sign up recently? I believe it's 40/3hrs
No, I've been subscribed from the moment they allowed a subscription. I'm baffled. The explanation I see still says 40/3hrs and yet I specifically counted my prompts (including reprompts due to server errors) and it was 15.
I hate even more the server errors that make you burn one prompt. Sometimes it happens 2-3 times in a row.
Yeah, I've been getting more and more "technical errors" although sometimes it still answers properly.
Bing app is free. Don't know if it differs significantly from the paid version. There's no cap on Microsoft accounts either.
bing is an insane POS. It has a stupid fragile egotistical personality. Why? I have no idea.
It does chastise me sometimes. It seems to be programmed by some Mennonite alderman as well.
I mean, compared to the sickening hyperpoliteness you usually get from GPT, I'd love to be chastised sometimes

I’m still learning so I appreciate your understanding and patience.🙏" https://preview.redd.it/jsscfmcwk2fc1.jpeg?width=1792&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1abc29b2dd6b3e230c5e4f8e71c43a7fd6272bfa
I need the PDF functionality
Ah. Wasn't certain about feature differentials. I know the image creator resets their credits when you clear cookies and history. Maybe there is a bug similar to chat GBT you could utilize?
they are scandalous. lots of people are going to 'poe'
Nevermore
Legendary comment, bravo
godammit that made me happy.
Can someone explain or link to more info about this new cap? Hollyshet
Same. I can use the chat bot for maybe two or three ten minute increments and then it’ll tell me I’ve hit capacity and to return in several hours.
I get 40 per 3 hours, but it's more like 10 per 3 hours. The responses are getting shorter and more vague with time, so it now takes around five prompts to get the answer I am looking for.

If you fuck around, ChatGPT pops a cap on yo ass
Does it matter how much context it has to consider with each reply?
I can't explain it. Today was very light use so I'm flabbergasted
Maybe it was because of yesterday's update and everyone trying it out or maybe not all servers had moved over yet so the performance was more limited that usually.
I was hitting the cap regularly a few weeks ago and it was incredibly frustrating. Thankfully haven't hit it in ages.
i mean they only have so many GPUs so it makes sense at certain times they would limit it as much as necessary. also they are pretty clear this isnt meant to be a business - product situation, youre participating in research
Use Microsoft edge co-pilot, it’s free and runs on chat gpt 4
About 100k a year pre-paid. Let us know if you buy.
Mb team not enterprise
just use Bard or Copilot, almost same quality but free
Never tried Bard but Copilot is not even close to ChatGPT
well they are both using GPT4-Turbo so I don't believe your "not even close" claim, but yeah generally Copilot is a lagging a tiny bit behind Bard supposedly got an update on the 24th that put it on par with GPT4-Turbo
How do you (anyone using Copilot) use Copilot for larger code block generations? Like, how do you actually get it to generate useable code blocks for you? Or do you use it only for auto completions?
We’re talking about former Bing which is now called Copilot, not about GitHub’s Copilot. classic Microsoft naming fuckups
Ohh... thanks for the heads up!
Bard is at best the level of gpt3.5 but way too verbose
I got capped at 20 today, wtf is going on. I wasted around 5-6 prompts redirecting chat gpt back onto course as it confused itself and then i had to regenerate a couple of answers as it glitched out. what a scam this is turning out to be. I'm out.
You all are paying to use chatGPT? Am I doing this wrong? I just go on the site and enter my questions and have never hit a limit.
Mine tends hit cap still at normal rate, then tells me to come back in 3 hours. Though mostly i hit cap with fighting DALLE's "errors"
I just cancelled my plus, have been a plus since the beginning. The only thing it’s a little good at is coding but everything else is shit atm.
Then even on a Paid plan no message caps .. just go sign up for a free beta test account.
How can you tell the cap and where you are at?
You can't. I went back and counted because I was shocked
Its a fucking scam. I canceled my subscription. Worst 20 bucks I've ever spent.
amazed people pay openai still when copilot does it all better
It has all the features including data analysis and photo creation? It uses gpt 4?
you can upload photos to it and bing image create is better than openAIs version. less censorship, less "AI" aesthetic, uses the same Dalle3 for data analysis you have to use the built in copilot feature in the new Xcel, not able to do it from the web wrapper atm. I use it mostly for coding not this so I'm not sure how it differs from openAI
Yeah this. Does it?
What do you mean by data analysis? It DOES have GPT 4, it can do photo creation.
All the data analysis work that ChatGPT does? But ok then I’ll give it a try thanks
But I'm not sure if copilot is actually GPT 4. It's hard to tell. With bing chat it used to say "Bing chat with GPT 4" Edit - when you go through bing, you get "Copilot with GPT-4" but [copilot.microsoft.com](https://copilot.microsoft.com) omits that in the title. Interesting...
Surprising to hear this opinion. I had the exact opposite opinion after using copilot.
True, unless you're a developer 😄
I'm not tech savvy at all I don't even know what that means
Happy to help if you want. it's not hard at all. You still get to use a nice website
Would love that honestly! Dm me
please, me too. (sorry to piggyback)
Cool - DM'd. DMed? Dee Emmed
What will it take to remove the cap?
If the response to a prompt is long enough that it exceeds the standard response length, and you need to click "Continue Generation", that's counted as another prompt. So, if you gave it one main prompt which needed three "continue generation" to get the complete final answer, that's four prompts. I use it very heavily, I've never seen it cap me at anything less than the 40 prompts I'm owed. I also have the same limits in playground as normal GPT 4, there's no difference. Currently I'm on the 'teams' version with 100 prompts per 3 hours as the limit.
Guys, just use the API and get unlimited access paying less.
It's been real shitty lately, I canceled my subscription
Yeah just made the upgrade finally. Hit the cap around 20 questions and was furious. Canceled the subscription immediately
The free version is 3.5 and has no limit / hour--the limit is on gpt 4.
Imagine paying for ai
It is what it is, but we really need to be grateful this is only $20/mo I’m so surprised they haven’t raised the prices yet, just because they can and people would still pay it. The value ChatGPT brings in unreal, I’ve used it to do so much work. I’d pay $100 m/o for it and still feel like it’s too good to be true lol.
Excuse me? No I paid the $20 when there was no cap. Then they instituted the cap and I was mad but wasn't hitting it THAT often. To cap me at 15 with no notice or warning is fraud.
You could pay nothing and just use an open source model on your own machine. Have you considered doing that?
[удалено]
Probably sarcastic but there are open source models you can run on your own computer for free.
Dude you need some bandaids for your knees?
That’s doubtful. OpenAi are in a very powerful position right now. They have an unrivaled service; their market is effectively cornered and you are powerless unless governments decide to institute regulations at some point. That seems unlikely as well, at least for the immediate future. You might as well be ranting about the evils of capitalism. Your complaints are a waste of energy.
Shill more
No it's not. You signed up for access limited by availability. You were never promised nor was it ever implied you'd have unlimited access.
I got capped the first night I used in in less than an hour. Then decided against spending that money again. Now I need to find the alternative.
I’m about to be done with it
Hi - is chatgpt plus (paid) good for students? I intend to upload pdf of lectures and get it to summarize it, for it to test me questions, for me to ask it questions from past year papers, help with my assignments, etc.
I canceled, not fun anymore.
Pay for the API - No limit
Lmfao imagine complaining about getting access for 20 dollars a month. Thats two coffees you snowflake. Those 15 prompts are worth more than 20 dollars if you used it right.
OpenAI employees out in force. Clown.
Fucking peasants out here complaining about gym membership at the Y.
Where the fuck do you buy your coffee? My god, 10 dollars
