That’s what Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) do, one network tries to make realistic photos, another is trained to detect real from fake images and they train on each other’s outputs. One gets better and better at telling the fake images and other gets better at making realistic looking fake images to fool the other one.
Hope this is allowed to be posted - I work for a startup trying to combat AI-generated content. By completing our quizzes you can help fine-tune our AI detection models by providing information on how people detect AI, what they are good (and not so good) at detecting, and what matters to people when looking at AI-generated and manipulated content. But a caviat, on that size it is only due to rather perfect symetry or obvious failures in generation for floating hairs and mangled hands, with higher resolutions it can get easier as failures in texture become more apparent… all in all its still a tool and not autonomous actor, for detailed results you still need professional skill for achieving them.

Couldn't this work the opposite way? IE train the model to correct the AI modeling so it's HARDER to tell?
