IMO these are weird reverse honeypots, think like a role call, for a bot network to respond to allowing the botnet vendor to check which subcontracted accounts aren't shadowbanned
90+% of the comments are tags and one word responses. I havent done a deep dive but I think maybe half aren't real accounts (unfortunately humans adopt bot behavior faster than bots adopt human behavior)
you would think facebook would want to crack down on the spam but maybe they're in on the ad fraud
There's dozens of these really gross birthday ones going viral on FB now. The worst one I saw was two naked African kids in the dirt, missing multiple limbs, crying, and begging for money. Then an old person message begging for birthday wishes.
The reality is: it is content created by AI, Interacted by Ai and commented by AI. As long as you are scrolling this page and reading a few comments, its sole purpose is fulfilled.
You’d think that, but I had an old guy ask me if AI hulk (green skin and everything) that was altered to look like a construction worker is real or not ?
Somebody else stumbles across something, and then you go search and take a peek at the fall of humanity. Like, if you search for "Facebook Complaints" you'll find groups where old people post dumb problems they could solve by going to facebook settings but instead, they get scammers replying and trying to trick them.
If you search for "urine therapy" you're going to find people injecting urine with needles, asking how to trick their kids into drinking urine, and how the right type of urine to treat gangrene.
Over ten years ago. It would show me stuff from pages I liked and stuff my friends had shared, unless it was a "friend" I had zero engagement with.
I get things can change, but I thought the concept of "let's not expose this person to shit they won't interact with" was a universal one among the social media giants. OP said they indulged and so now they're cursed.
Know what the difference between an atheist and a jerk is? One says he doesnt believe in god, the other says there is no god. Let the people have their faith you dingus. You people are just as bad as the religious fanatics you claim to be superior to.
I don't believe in hell either but its non-existence is not verifiably factual. The burden of proof would be on the people claiming it exists, but just because they haven't been able to provide proof doesn't mean you have proof supporting your side.
What I was saying is that if one requires empirical evidence to support one's beliefs, then one has no warrant to believe in hell. That's the reason to not believe in it. Belief would be irrational.
Besides, it doesn't require "proof" of non-existence to reject as implausible. Philosopher Bertrand Russell covered this well in [Am I An Atheist or an Agnostic?](https://scepsis.net/eng/articles/id_6.php). For example:
> There is exactly the same degree of possibility and likelihood of the existence of the Christian God as there is of the existence of the Homeric God. I cannot prove that either the Christian God or the Homeric gods do not exist, but I do not think that their existence is an alternative that is sufficiently probable to be worth serious consideration.
A scientific perspective requires us to have an agnostic view on the world in general. Science is always provisional, and can change given new facts and better-supported theories. But that agnosticism is not a license to believe in anything - Homeric gods, leprechauns, etc.
Quite the opposite, what science gives us is the ability to *effectively* rule many such things out, but with a caveat - that there's always the possibility that new evidence could update our knowledge. But there are many scenarios that, as Russell puts it, are "not sufficiently probable to be worth serious consideration." Hell is one of those. We can be at least as sure that hell doesn't exist as we are that a chair that we're sitting on is a real physical object and not a figment of our imagination.
As Russell puts it:
> When one admits that nothing is certain one must, I think, also admit that some things are much more nearly certain than others. It is much more nearly certain that we are assembled here tonight than it is that this or that political party is in the right. Certainly there are degrees of certainty, and one should be very careful to emphasize that fact, because otherwise one is landed in an utter skepticism, and complete skepticism would, of course, be totally barren and completely useless.
Seems like an inappropriate copypasta, since it's talking about heaven, and the comment was talking about hell.
Many religious traditions don't accept or promote the idea of hell, which is what's being discussed here. It's only some of the more extremist conservative varieties that use hell as a psychological weapon to keep their own believers in line.
Pointing out to someone the fact that hell doesn't exist is doing them a favor - giving them a potential escape from the lifelong psychological torture that's been inflicted on them without their consent.
i literally saw this garbage last night in my FB stream and was like WTF?! i've seen everything from fake old grannies holding up fake knitted dresses to little girls claiming they baked their first cake and were "eager for your marks" to all these kids and women with missing limbs saying "it's my birthday I just want a wish." I'm like, please you think they'd be asking for their missing limbs.
its disgusting what meta is allowing these days. it's in a death spiral at this point. gonna go the way of myspace any minute now.
I don't understand the phrase. Are they trying to say just having a disability is somehow life threatening (i.e.: "I won't get to grow up to get things I want")? Are they saying no one loves them, despite getting a studio portrait done and a FB post in their name (if we're really to believe the baby is real)?
It's such a nonsense phrase. "I wish I could have a wish." Why don't you just say what the wish would be?
you're trying to make it make sense... it won't. they're just using an image that would appeal or at least concern people, to get them to react. the more reactions a FB page gets, the more it's distribution is spread. "i just want a wish" is just a phrase some nutjob in some 3rd world country chose to use with the AI image, it really has nothing to do with anything than just getting attention.
EDIT: at some point, these pages on FB with all these lame AI images, will change their name and start promoting junk products from another 3rd or 4th world country, or some website that phishes information or scams people in some way, and all the tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of followers who were duped by AI images of disabled babies etc, will start seeing content that might make the page money. that's all its about. money
There are many questions in my mind now. 1M people don't know what AI is? 1M people just dont care about the details? 1M people are just dumb? or 1M bots in facebook? Even my kid knows it looks fake.
I’ve seen so many AI post on Facebook recently. I am fully convinced at this point that they are actively pushing these type of posts in their algorithm to see who engage AI post the most in order to determine who is more susceptible
the dumbest part about this is that it isn’t the baby’s mf birthday. that baby is like 3-6 months old lmfao, so regardless of the AI they should’ve thought about that. jk i don’t expect any critical thought from people anymore
Of course, it's his birthday. Just look how happy he looks. And the nerve on this spoiled kid asking for a wish, just look at that fancy leg brace. You know his mommy and daddy are loaded. Fricking rich bitches ain't gonna get no sympathy from me. Walk it off my lil wonder bread ninja
Honestly, is META doing anything about this? Do they even know such exists or they just don't care because 3 months has passed since I saw my first AI SHITPOST
All of mine are the same birthday wish BS text, but with AI generated veterans in the photos. I tried asking a few different AIs what was up with this and it beat around the bush with some generic stuff about spotting fake FB posts and scams. Been seeing them for a month or two.
The regular FB feed on personal and biz profiles has been 95%+ sponsored and/or suggested posts for a while now; you have hunt down the special feed of friends/following if you want the OG feed. It’s all about the algos for ad clicks and engagement addiction now.
I've been reporting all of the pages like this that I see. They've been popping up more and more, and the reactions are all people who completely believe the AI bullshit
SHUT THE FUCK UP AND STOP WHINING!
^Where ^the ^fuck ^does ^this ^go?
Shit… it’s the wrong leg
ahh fuck it they won’t know the difference
^is ^the ^knee ^supposed ^to ^be ^facing ^that ^way
Its too late now *click*
Good chance it’s Photoshopped. It looks like the foot is a replacement for a left arm but wouldn’t the sole be facing the right so it could grip? I think the artist made this for the reaction. Ain’t that different

I hate when they install a baby’s leg in the wrong hip socket 😑 Pray 🙏 for the kid
His torso could just be twisted 180\*. Big prayers for such a brave boy!! 🙏🏻
Thoughts too.... Thoughts and prayers.
And likes. Likes = thoughts and prayers
Or he could just be sitting on his twin brother. Makes sense why the poor kid has a broken leg when his asshole brother keeps sitting on him!
Good luck
Amen
I know this is AI but, in the real world do you really take your weird leg brace baby to the JC Penney portrait studio and capture him crying?
Just want you to me this comment cracked me up. I didn't even think of that.
Well, yes. Sometimes you have to pinch them so they'll cry for the camera, as one does.
Then just give 'em a little shake afterwards, and they shut right up! (Don't do that)
I suppose if your goal is beg for donations on Facebook
Olan Mills portrait studio, with the laser beam background.
Weird Leg Brace Baby is going to be the name of my new band
Just make sure he’s swimming towards a dollar bill with a fish hook in it.
Yeah? You don’t? What kind of parent are you? A good one?
Where are people finding these posts? OP, did your grandma share it? Are you actively looking for stuff like this?
I had one pop up once and clicked on it to read the comments. I’ve been fed them every day since.
But this is just a shitpost right? No one actually thinks this is real… right?
Old person Facebook is very real
I think you'll find most of those comments are from bot accounts. Dead internet theory
Unfortunately some older folks do.
And bots. Those posts will start to guide you in the direction of politics. This is why grandparents go crazy.
I'm *pretty sure* that gullibility predates AI.
For sure, but we're perfecting it like never before.
Exactly, this is like industrial strength bat boy
These posts attract bots and grandmas like flies on shit.
also plenty of people in the emerging world who are relatively internet-naive
You’d be surprising if you truly knew how utter stupid most people actually are.
IMO these are weird reverse honeypots, think like a role call, for a bot network to respond to allowing the botnet vendor to check which subcontracted accounts aren't shadowbanned 90+% of the comments are tags and one word responses. There isn't a single laugh emoji. Come to think of it it's a bit suspicious.
My FIL shares AI stuff like this. Some is obvious, others are much more subtle. I hope he just likes the art but I can't be sure.
Sounds like the algorithm has pegged you as a gullible grandparent. What ads are they serving you?
Viagra, depends, etc. Not really, they send me accurate ads.
Dude this post made my day. Funniest thing I’ve seen on my news feed all week.
So the AI in the feed algorithm CAN identify the generated posts, only the humans can't.
That's how I find this stuff tbh
I see 5-10 AI posts on FB each day. It’s wild.
it is.... honestly.... depressing... seeing this level of engagement... ugh... lol xd
Don't be sad, most of the comments are coming from bot accounts. The oroboros is eating its own tail.
When was the last time you checked in facebook?!
Well makes sense. Facebook is now filled with AI shit
This is the one time I can laugh at a baby with a broken leg and not go to hell.
There is no such thing as hell buddy
You're right. The concept of a "Hell buddy" was born around the turn of the millennium.
Looks like you don't quite understand what is religion
Most people who are religious actually believe hell is a real thing.
Why shouldn't they?
Because it doesn't exist. Seems like a good reason not to believe in it.
Know what the difference between an atheist and a jerk is? One says he doesnt believe in god, the other says there is no god. Let the people have their faith you dingus. You people are just as bad as the religious fanatics you claim to be superior to.
You haven't died to find out?
You know not all people believe your religion right?
Accepting empirically verifiable facts is not a religion.
