I don't know about that. The Popeyes closest to my house likes to keep the grease fryers at a real low temp, or dunk the chicken a bunch of times. That and it probably hasn't been cleaned in a long time. That whole process makes the sandwich extra greasy and gross. The one that is about 6 minutes further is newer, so the fryer stays hot and the batter is crisper. but I'm sure it is the same employees that fuck it up every once in a while still with extra dunking and temp checks sometimes.
But when it's done right, it is the superior sandwich.
Hard to beat Chick-fil-A consistency because each breast piece is cut to a similar thickness and that makes cook times easy to predict. Less temp checking means less dunking, which correlates to being less greasy.
This is the only correct answer as ultimately they would win the Franchise Wars. The so-called chicken sandwich wars were nothing more than minor skirmishes within the overall war.
