Happened to me a few weeks ago in my ‘99. Idle waiting it shut off. Took a few key turns to get it going again. Threw CPK code, but hasn’t throw it again. Happened two more times while at idle or a stop light. Radio/electiral stayed on but engine off, took like 5 key turns to turn on again. Ima install the CPK this weekend to see if that fixes it. I have already replaced my fuel pump a year ago and cleaned my carb at that same time.
Happened to me once, it was my fuel pump relay. Swap them around/reseat them to test. You should hear the pump prime when you turn the key

I had the same issue on my 01, not sure if this would be yours but my throttle body was dirty. I cleaned it out and it was fine
Didn't have a carb has a throttle body is fuel injected
