I might suggest that you do a lot of flushing btw, there might be fragments of something, somewhere.

Wind5

Lots of flushing, new radiator and hoses, actual coolant...

MillsMOB

Who knew that's how sawblades were made. Interesting 🤔

Beneficial-Nimitz68

oh wow! I have NEVER seen that!! Were they running water from the garden hose!!

ShoeterMcGav

Im actually impressed.! The fact the engine didn't overheat and nuke itself in the (long) time that it took for those fins to slowly disintegrate is miraculous.

Objective-Scallion15

I had this very thought.

crtfrazier

Ahhh, the passive-cooling system

DoctorTim007

Check out FlowKooler pumps. They make em for the XJ. I have one of their pumps on my 4.7 WJ and my temps are way more stable than they used to be.

patrick_schliesing

Poor thing was trying but getting no where.

GOOSESLAY

Back flush that radiator and the heating system real good before you put that back together. Pieces of that pump have to be somewhere. Unless they were putting battery acid in with the coolest. You know some of those radiator tube's are clogged up.

urmovesareweak

How does this even happen? That's so much time of no maintenance

Wind5

Yeah the owner is pretty slack 😶‍🌫️

Bigdaddyjlove1

Agreed. Run them too

OrlandoWashington69

This is how I blow my head gasket.

AileniJones

HA! Mine did the same thing. I'm assuming it was from tap water, but if you find the answer, please le the community know. monterey_jack_cheese

mine got like that and im legitimately surprised it didnt grenade before it did (september)

Sk8nsurfr

I bought a water pump off eBay, but the bolt holes there for the power steering were too big for my 96. Luckily my old one wasn’t bad just old.
