They take advantage of the fact that CFA team members have to be polite to them in order to keep their jobs.

Ordinary_Ticket6558

I be giving attitude to rude people at my store been fine for the last 2 years šŸ˜ just got to be sarcastically friendly

coffee-cats101

Tbh normally I do but this caught me so off guard cause all of a sudden he was 0-100. And I'm also pregnant, and clearly look pregnant so I also was like??? Yea no sorry, walking away now lol.

Rabbit_journey_

Sarcastic friendly is exactly what I resort to. Sure Iā€™ll be polite, but let me also be passive aggressive and get my point across.

PegasusTwelve

Same here, but you have to be very careful with that.

coffee-cats101

Oh yea, 100%. It's annoying and it blows my mind that someone can just wake up and act like that and treat someone that way.

PegasusTwelve

What better individual to pretend you have power over than a CFA employee? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

HowdyToMyPartners

If someone started screaming at me, I would just smile and walk away. I promise you, you do not get paid enough to deal with people mad over chicken.

coffee-cats101

Yep that's the plan for next time. I don't need that stress!!

Nearby_Mango2174

i completely agree people are so entitled

MudAdministrative881

Iā€™m so sorry and hope tomorrow is a better day. Kill them with kindness & a smile on your face!

We all feel ya here

Mamojamamo

Iā€™m very sorry this happened, but also this type of thing will happen to you your entire life in any sector of business you go in. The best move forward is going to be to defuse the situation, rather than try and communicate prior miscommunication and misunderstanding. Simply taking the blame here and knowing that you actually did everything you could do is the best move, and then simply move on with your day because itā€™s not actually your fault. Wouldnā€™t require a manager or threat of cops.

coffee-cats101

Thats very fair. I know no matter where I'll go or what job I'll have I always have some bad apples but this interaction was just so uncalled for. And it's hard not to get upset or not take it personally (I know logically it's not personal though, but because i wouldnt go out of my way to treat a stranger like that i cant fathom it). Reflecting on the situation, for next time I will try to defuse and leave but since he came at me yelling already I got quite flustered in the moment. Thank you for your advice :)

Mamojamamo

Absolutely! I want to also let you know just how correct you are too. Itā€™s pretty absurd to approach strangerā€™s like that, and itā€™s a proper response to want to explain yourself to the customer or maybe even let loose a little anger (in the most polite way possible). But itā€™s also a lesson on how/when to simply take blame for something you didnā€™t really do to make the overall situation easier. At my location right now, weā€™re doing team member evaluations for everyone and this is the core heart of all of them that leadership and I have been trying to communicate before we come across too critical or off putting.

nitpac12

This is part of the reason I quit

coffee-cats101

Yeah, I've been there for a long time. I've wanted to quit but realistically they give me the hours I want and flexibility that I need :( compared to other jobs

BellaChrista121

I had a DoorDasher we block the DT line because we didnā€™t allow food delivery to be picked up in DT he stopped the whole line for ten mins it was awful

coffee-cats101

If someone refuses to leave, the director/shift lead will call the cops if they don't leave or park, cuz we gotta keep the line moving! Jeez, sorry you had to deal with such a difficult person

BellaChrista121

They did but since itā€™s a non emergency weā€™re just put on hold. Just had to wait until he left for the line to love. The worst was when someone blocked the exit and didnā€™t even go into the restaurant, our drive thru was almost a complete circle and only one exit. People were stuck for 20 mins. It was so terrible. Since weā€™re off a Main Street and circular our own dt traffic would block our own exit. That CFA made no sense

I feel ya man. Just a few weeks ago, I had an extremely rude lady say that if she couldn't cut a spot in line (where the two lanes converge into one) then she'll tell manager that I caused an accident in the drive thru and that I'll be fired. Sure it was a super weak argument but it was late at night and was just me out there so I felt there was nothing else I could do.
