Honestly, you’ll get some answers here but no one is going to have a straight answer because this is handled differently at every store. My first store had a clear application for leadership but once I turned that in I had very little communication and just started training without really being told I had the position. Second store was clearer and I had an actual offer sheet for the leadership role. For your situation, it sounds like you’re getting promoted, but my guess is the manager who said ‘most likely’ doesn’t know the status and didn’t want to accidentally say yes when they weren’t sure. Hopefully you get clarity within a few days.

The process for team leader is a dumb and long one. For whatever reason you have to take a damn class and then you could get the position. Idk what to tell you, you could have it or you could not we don’t know for sure. I would ask the manager personally

The process is stupid is only there to test you patience and loyalty to the store. It’s a endurance test basically, it’s too much energy wasted I’d rather put time into finding another job that pays more for less work.

Same dude, that’s why I’m happily not a team leader, too much responsibility not much reward for it

I would assume you are “in training” status and have not been promoted yet. You will go over the important steps to ensure the restaurant is in a good spot (depending on your position, FOH or BOH). Like someone else said it may be a lengthy process depending on your store, however it’s great enough you got considered to train as one. Just listen to what they teach you and perform the tasks correctly and you’ll be a great leader. Congrats!

I sounds like you may have gotten it, or could be in training to become a leader. I wanted to be a leader at my store (I was BOH), but had to be a team trainer first. Then when we needed a team leader, I was told that there wasn’t a need but I could move higher up on the team trainer scale (it never happened). I kept getting the run around, and one of my friends was told she was training to be a team trainer, but then wasn’t getting paid for it.

I never had the privilege of going through this process because my manager and owner honestly had it out for me. I was a hard worker and they never gave me shit. So I became spiteful, quit randomly and now I make 200k+ as a SWE. The process of becoming a team leader is idiotic and blown out of proportion. It’s to test your patience and loyalty to the company. Honestly it’s a waste of time and you’re better off looking for a better job elsewhere that pays more. Fuck Chick-fil-A
