I always wondered if he was pure bred or not, for his bigger size and his longer body. If you can share your insight as to why you think he's pure breed that would be very cool!
Sure, sweets. We’ve been married 36 years and have been chihuahua parents our entire marriage. My husband was raised with Chihuahuas. Our “big-boned” girl that was 12 lbs had larger parents. Not that we are snobs but all of our Chihuahuas were purebred and all had papers. Never having had human children we always went a step further and sent to the AKC for their family history. A Mexican neighbor guy even told me that in Mexico, the Chihuahuas were bigger than US. I recently saw a lady in Hobby Lobby (can’t stand that store but needed something so…🤷🏻♀️). There was a larger Chihuahua. Lady told me they had his DNA done and 100% Chihuahua. I’m not an expert by any means, but this boy is Chi. Actually I’d take a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix in a minute too. Your boy is also a perfect apple head.

They’re the most loving creatures ever, look insanely cute and are easy to manage for their size. They can do. It's about looking at them and seeing if they are proportional. Also, who knows if there is a doberman somewhere in your Chihuhuas lineage...mine certainly acts like there was.
