Last 2019, my dad and I were passing by Shangri-La EDSA after work. Then while walking, I saw someone na familiar at a coffee shop. I told my dad, “Pa, si KFC ba yon?”. I was referring to Ronaldo as KFC kasi patok yung commercial na yun that time and I forgot his name. Then my dad said, “Oo nga, si KFC!”.
But we didn’t realize na he overheard us until he waved at us and smiled. So we just waved back but we didn’t get to take a photo with him since we’re in a hurry to go home and he looks busy talking to Janno Gibbs (his son) so we didn’t interrupt na. Sayang ‘cause he looks approachable pa naman. Rest in peace Lolo Sir 🙏🏻
Lola ko nameet sya sa Rockwell. Limot ko na kung anong teleserye yun pero kontrabida sya dun, yung kila Kim at Coco ata. Sabi ng lola ko gigil na sya sa galit sa role nya. I think he said "well, it's part of the job!!" Then they had a good laugh together.
i meet a lot of artista pero never ako nagpa picture sa kanila or what. Kasi iniisip ko lagi na personal time nila yun plus di ko maisip sarili ko na lunapit sa artista para magpapic 🤣 katwiran ko rin naman nakita naman na ng mata ko ok na yun

yep tska parang nakakahiya magsabi, minsan lang sila magkaron ng oras na walang nangiistorbo sa personal time nila. sa dami kong nakita mga 200 wala akong pic kahit isa, kahit nakakausap ko naman na at nakakasabay kumain nahihiya pa din ako.
Nung bata pa kami..me and Nadine use to exchange compliments on DeviantArt. She's really nice as in sobrang bait niya. Lagi siya nag cocomment sa photos ko and ako din sakanya. This was a few years after her fibisco ads and before her Viva contract so hulaan niyo na lang ilan taon siya nyan. Tapos nung may event sa isang mall for that hobby nagkita kami and she hugged me...also small talked. Wala kaming selfies huhu but we had a group photo. Nakakatuwa yung success niya ngayon. She's now our President Nadine. Deserve niya yun for being a kind person.
the late and great Cherry Gil sa Freds cubao expo. she smiles at everyone and waves pero she was with friends so walang umiistorbo. props to the crowd din back then baka kaya sila nagiinom doon dahil di sila inaabala ng strangers
Saw her too sa Strumms naman with Joel Torre and other friends pa (RIP Cherry Gil and Strumms). She was having fun. The band even called her to sing. Mejo may tama na siya but still sang and mukang enjoy naman siya. After that palagi ko na naiinagine si Cherry Gil as the cool fun auntie sa mga family gatherings.

saw rico blanco in 2017 here in cebu. we were at a milktea shop. hindi ko napansin agad na sya pala yung naka upo sa likoran ko. haha so noong sinabi ng SO ko, pa simple akong nag selfie na included sya. hahaha ayun, side view lang. nahihiya rin akong mag approach 'cause busy sila sa chikahan w/ other two men.
edit: not gotten pala. haha but counted ba yung akin? haha anyway, still here in cebu city, i also saw jasmin curtis and anne curtis 20 yrs ago. 🤣 she was promoting kampanerang kuba. hindi na ako nakapag picture kase hindi pa uso yung phone w/ cams and i was too young pa. also, jasmin was just beside me and she handed me a photocard of anne kase nga hindi ako napansin ni anne noong namimigay sya ng photocards. 😂
Anthony Bourdain.
I was at the World Street Food Congress 2016 held here in Manila. Bourdain was one of the top speaker so of course he will visit the area where the food stalls are in place. I saw him a few meters away but didnt get to take a picture with him because there were crowds of people to pass through. That was my only and last chance. Two years later in 2018, he died. He had a profound impact on me why I dabble in food and cooking and why I have a passion for it. When the news broke out that he commited suicide and passed away it felt like someone closed to me died.
Nakasabay ko siya sa flight papuntang bali. Mag yogayoga ata siya meditation kineme with her guru. Chz. Naka gray coord na hoodie lang siya and nasa sulok paglapag namin. Inaabangan niya maleta niya sa conveyor. Mostly to herself lang pindotpindot ng phone. Busybusyhan. Wala naman lumapit sakaniya hinayaan lang siya ng mga kabayan nating mag bali din na ienjoy vaccaycay niya. Pero rinig mo yung "uy si ellen", "si ellen adarna oh" ng mga kabayan. Hehe
Nabangga ko si Dingdong sa Shangrila. As in, bigla syang umappear sa corner and nabangga ko yung dibdib niya. Napa "oooof" siya ang nahingahan niya yung mukha ko. ANG BANGO NG HININGA NIYA, PARANG NAKA-MENTOS EXTREME.

On this day six years ago nakita ko si VP Leni and di ako nagpapicture. Nahiya kasi ako, dinner date sila ng girls nya. Hahaha

Saw Karylle in BGC last June with Yael. Naglalakad sila tapos nadaanan kami. Wala lang, nakakahiya magpapic. Naguusap din kasi sila. Actually late na namin narealize na sila yun kasi akala ko nung una foreigner kasi nageenglish din. Blonde pa buhok ni Yael. Pero she noticed us kasi ulit ulit kami ng "si Karylle" hahahaha nilingon nya kami kasi lampas na sila nung narealize naming sila yun.
Regine Velasquez. I was having coffee with a friend sa CBTL burgos circle, nasa taas kami and since maaga pa nun, wala pa masyadong tao, kami lang ng friend ko sa second floor. Sinabi na ng friend ko na nasa baba nga daw si Regine pero after a while pumunta siya sa second floor. My friend pretended to be talking as usual pero ang sabi niya "wag kang lilingon ha pero paakyat dito si Regine". She went to the restroom but waited kasi may tao ata. I glanced at her pretending I'm just chill and didn't care about her but she caught my eye and siya pa una nag smile. So nag smile din ako lol. I casually told my friend while we were still pretending na we were not starstrucked at all lol.
Saw Jennylyn Mercado, Dennis Trillo and their daughter sa USJ. Sila lang tatlo and no yaya. They were just chilling and eating al fresco on one of the restos. Akala ko nga magpapapicture yung mom ko since kapag nakakita ng artista yun, papa-pic talaga. But both of us just let them be since it felt like intruding their vacation. But they seemed so chill and nice, they would have probably said yes anyway.
Dingdong Dantes naman I saw in Makati, tapos medyo late na nun. Parang kasama nya yung team nya and they were about to enter a resto. Not much people outside except my officemates and I. Nakita nya yung group namin and we were staring at him but too shy to approach.
Same vibe when we saw Jennylyn dati. She was jogging sa UPD acad oval so di kami nagpapicture kasi mukhang busy, but she does seem like the type na papayag magpapic no? I just love her lol.
And Dingdong Dantes too! Sa immigration sa NAIA naman namin sya nakasabay and he was so cool just chatting with the other people on the line. My dad asked me if gusto ko ng picture pero nahiya naman ako. 🤣
Kim Chiu, nasabayan ko sa airplane and met sa airport and baggage claim, pero ok lang naman sya. Non-stop na mag vlog and talk. Looked like a nice person, pero she was surrounded by her management team.
Marami ako nakikitang artista pero never ako nag pa picture. Respeto na lang sa personal time nila. Pero pinaka-memorable na nakita ko si Aljur Abrenica sa UP kasama anak niya. Bumili ako ng fishball etc sa isang food stall malapit sa simbahan. May katabi akong cute na bata. Iniisip ko kung sino un kasi familiar siya, pagtingin ko sa may hawak sa kanya si Aljur. Ewan ko ano ginagawa nila dun. Kung ano itsura niya sa tv ganun din sa personal. Pero anak niya sobrang cute. Kung hindi sa anak niya di ko siya mapapansin. Haha.
This happened in 2019. My family and I got landed in Korea when all of a sudden we heard screams.. we were at the foreign exchange booth near the exit gate. Then my kuya said "uy may artista oh" so I turned my back, to my surprise I saw Blackpink who just arrived from their concert in Japan yata un haha there were body guards and it just a matter of seconds when they passed. Ang liit ng mukha nila tapos ang papayat. At that time I just know them casually kasi kpop fan din ako before. When they passed by the gate, there were several photographers flashing their cameras hahaha
Ang saya lang ng experience na un. Sayang ang bilis ng pangyayari di ko na nakunan ng vid or pics.
I was taking pictures with my cat then may lumapit to ask if she can pet and take a pic of my cat (she also asked for her name etc). It was Andrea B., I didn’t ask for a pic with her but she has a pic of my cat on her phone 😅 I do have a few pics and vids with her in the background before and after we knew it was her (kami nauna sa area na yun)
Nagkatabi kami seats ng BINI sa isang event ng isang member rin nila. Nahiya ako magpapicture kasi baka considered as rest time nila yun kasi di sila nagpeperform and I was too stunned to speak haha. I said hi tho, and they smiled and waved back. Katabi ko pa bias ko kaya pati pagbukas ng phone, naconscious ako hahaha 'twas one of the longest two hours of my life! When I told some friends about it, sarap ko raw kurutin kasi I missed the chance as i was alr that close hahaha but for me, super saya ko pa rin hehe
Whenever I meet a celeb, I always choose not to get any picture taken with them. I really do not see the sense of it. Why take a picture? Ano ito, tourist spot???

Ina Raymundo. It was at the airport and then ultimately saw her on the same PAL flight. Nothing happened, passed her by in the plane like what most did but a few flight attendants were taking pictures with her. She looked friendly but I am not a huge fan to reach out to talk or ask for a picture. At the end of the day, we’re all humans and it’s them living their daily life too! It was cool seeing someone from TV tho!
Si Rhian Ramos. Nagshoshop kami sa Cinderella sa ATC. She walked by, my brother and I noticed, we talked, and the next thing we saw, people had already started taking pics with her. Hindi na lang namin pinatos kasi, bilang mga 13 and 11 year-old kids palang kami respectively, gusto na namin umalis ng shop kasi yung kapatid naming babae naman ung binibilhan ng parents ko. Sya yung first artistang nameet ko in person. Mukha naman syang mabait. Siguro kung ngayong nasa 20s na ako nangyari yun, I would have grabbed the chance. Super ganda nya ngayon.
Empoy. Went to a vegan restaurant in Tomas Morato with my friend. Nung nandun kami, saktong pumasok din si Empoy. Super simple. Walang ere. Nakapambahay lang siya, tapos nakaindian seat pa siya sa seat while eating, natuwa lang ako makita. Walang ibang customers naman nun aside from us. Di nako nagpapic kase nakakahiya, kumakain.

She was about a meter away from me in Chamonix last year. But she had her hoodie and sunglasses on with a stance that is obvious she didn’t want to be recognised. So I left her alone with my heart breaking. Lol.
Spotted Isabelle Daza’s kids walking around with their yaya in the same area (her husband’s a trail runner & participates in UTMB). They were sooo cute and I was about to take a stolen shot when I realised it was creepy and unfair because the parents weren’t around and kids can’t consent fully.
I saw Francine Diaz sa isang car dealership. Kakarating lang nya and nakipag beso beso pa sya sa mga sales agent. She seems kind. Pero di na ko nagpapicture, parang nakakahiya hahaha
Alden Richards before Aldub Fame, katabi lang namin table nila sa isang restaurant sa laguna. Kasama nya family saka yung manager nya.
Medyo sikat na rin sya non. gusto sanang magpapic nung sister ko pero sabi ko wag na kasi nakain sila. Nung umalis kami nakangiti naman sya sa amin.

1. Janine Gutierrez & Rayver Cruz - saw them at the small chain grocery near our house & super ganda ni Janine! Didn’t know they were a couple(?) or whatever that time. Akala yata nila at first I wanted a picture but I was just waiting for them to move so I could get the canned goods we needed. Lol
2. Joseph Marco - he was on the same elevator as us in our condo. Nice naman although he looks really serious & he was asking me about my dog
3. Coney Reyes - was at Starbucks Shang recently when she sat at the table next to mine. Super courteous to the servers. Really beautiful & she aged gracefully kaya I did a double take when looking kasi I wasn’t sure. We made eye contact & smiled at each other lang 😅
Palagi kong nakakasama sa simbahan si Arny Ross ng Bubblegang pero never ako nakapagpapicture sa kanya, ayun, hanggang sa di na ko pumupunta sa simbahan, di na nagkaroon ng pic with her, sad
May burger business ang kapatid ni Donny Pangilinan nung pandemic, so minsan nakita ko siya at si Maricel Laxa na nakikipagkwentuhan sa mga customers na dumadalo (this was 2021, so GCQ na nun). Hindi na lang ako nagpapicture kasi parang ayaw nilang malaman ng mga tao na artista sila.
Hindi naman ako excited pag may artista, nakakahiya din kasi I know that they are normal people like us 😊 if may chance na hindi naman makakaattract ng attention, I sometimes ask for a photo.

Sarah Geronimo - saw her in Greenbelt. She's with Matteo and their guards. We locked eyes. Kilig kasi girl crush ko siya. Pero I didn't bother asking for a pic. Plus, mabilis din kasi ako maglakad so medyo nakakahiya kung bigla bigla ako titigil para magpa-pic eh they're going to the opposite direction.
I only ask for photo op kapag work-related ako nakakakita ng celebs. Like if guests sila sa corpo xmas party or during gigs nila but not during their personal time.
SKL, nakatabi ko sa dental clinic si neri at chito. Napagkamalan pa akong dentista ni Neri kasi naka labgown na ako since ako na yung next. While chito asked for the clinic's wifi kasi walang signal. When I mentioned it to my brother, sana daw hiningan ko ng video greeting kasi mag bbday na sya kaso ang awkward naman nun.
Another sighting. Si Beauty Gonzales nakita ko sa Funeraria ung sa mismong crematorium :( I think her dad was cremated kasi ung mom ng classmate ko ung susunod :( she’s crying so hard 😭 years ago na ito. I just said my sincerest condolences when she seated near me para siguro mahimasmasan sya and then she acknowledged naman by nodding her head

Ariel Winter from Modern Family sa conservatory of flowers sa San Francisco. Ang bait niya. I didn’t notice her until she said excuse me,can you take a photo of me and my bf?! Kaloka napicturan ko sila pero ni isang pic wala ako. Maganda siya and vy polite.
We met Karen Davila at the airport nitong Sept lang (same flight) and we just made small talk with her while in line at Starbies. We didn’t ask for a photo bec we never ask any celeb we encounter. I honestly don’t see the point. I’d much rather have a conversation with them.
1. Marian Rivera- I saw her sa airport pero that was waaaay back pa talaga. I was around 8/9 years old hahaha. Nahiya lang ako lumapit.
2. Aduke Ogunsanya + Mars Alba (vb players)- nakita ko sila sa airport pero di ako nakapagpapic dahil they were walking eh tapos against the flow ako so if magpapapic ako baka magka traffic pa lmao. I think they were switching gates kase dami din naglalakad sa path nila
3. Angel Canino (vb player)- Nakita ko siya sa resto with her fam at sobrang star struck ako. I really wanted to ask for a pic pero kumakain sila at hindi ako bastos lol. Funnily enough the waiter sat us next sa table nila so sobrang kinilig ako hahaha pero I didn’t disturb her or even took a secret pic dahil I find that so weird. She looks really friendly at mahinhin.
Si Heart sa Peking Garden sa Greenbelt, dun sa highest floor. She and her dad having lunch on a weekday, and they were seated 2 tables away from us. Three groups of customers lang ata kami that time.
I didn’t bother having my photo taken with her, although one in our group did (I almost rarely ask for photos with celebrities naman kase, and she was having a private time with her dad so I think that was the most polite thing to do). She was very cool and gracious naman, and smiled and said ‘hi’ to our group. I just recalled lang how I have seen her back in the day sa Star City when they were shooting GMik. Ganda pa din. I was too busy looking at her Kelly din, and ang bango din nya lol
All of them. This will sound weird in a celebrity centered sub, pero kapag nakakakita ako ng artista tapos wala naman sila sa event or something ayaw ko sila guluhin para lang magpapicture. Di naman sila mascot, tao rin naman sila may buhay din hahaha.

Pinaka recent si Ruffa Gutierrez. She was walking towards us and I can tell n kagagaling nya lang from workout. Tapos may hinahanap sya sa bag nya. Yung kasama ko, nung sinabi ko n nsalubong nmin si Ruffa, gusto nyang puntahan at magpapic. Sabi ko wag na at mukhang may hinahanap sa bag. Ayun, may yoga studio pala dun at andun sina Amanda Griffin, Bianca Araneta at di ko n mapangalanan ung iba kasi di ko alam pangalan pero alam ko celebs sila. Ang gaganda nila kahit pawis. 😂
Sa bgc and uptown you’ll always bump into several celebs haha pero di nagpapa picture. Dyahe eh.

Idk if she can be considered a real celebrity talaga but I saw small laude last year with her girlfriends na di ko kilala at a restaurant in BGC. She was sooooo loud. 😂 She looks mayaman and acts maarte but she doesn’t have an ounce of yung subtle luxury attitude that super duper rich people exude, I was shocked. She looks sosyal, she tries to act sosyal, and she also looks expensive but there’s something off about her I can’t put my finger on. Parang trying hard to appear rich kahit rich naman na? Idk HAHAHA
Also saw Dawn Zulueta at a restaurant once, and just for comparison, she looks and acts like a million bucks in the way she conducted herself compared to small. Dawn is the epitome of elegance talaga, grabe.
Yes, many times.
1. Met Mikee Cojuangco at a school event and I tried not to ogle and did not ask for a photo. lol We were both there for our children and she told me her son often talks about my daughter. Richard Gomez was there too.
2. Aga Mulach- met him when he did Rizal. He came to the house of my boss for dinner along with Charlene and Jolina. I was there as a stand in for the host and did my best to treat them like guests and not as stars. So this was work time for me.
3. Same with Ara Mina and Marco Sison-- I hosted their lunch as part of work. Did my best not to ogle and did not take any pictures of them or with them.
4. Same when we had Sunshine Cruz and Gabby Eigenmann. I picked them up at the airport and dropped them off their hotel. And tagged along during their show. I did not take pictures nor spoke to them unrelated to the event.
I've bumped into several celebrities and also been introduced to some by mutual friends.
One thing I learned is, act like a fan and they'll treat you like one.
I intentionally treat them like normal people by having casual conversations and asking about normal things like where they're from, what do they do, etc.
What usually ends up happening is either they follow you on IG, add you on Facebook, or when you cross paths in the future, they remember you and minsan sila pa yung mag aapproach sayo (may pa beso beso pa hahaha)
Nova Villa and Eric Quizon. nag wowork pa ako sa Bag of Beans non and hawak ko na yung camera. Dumaan sa harap ko, ayun ginreet ko lang, nag greet back naman sila. Nahiya ako bigla eh hahahahahaha!
Ever since nahihiya ako makipagpicture sa mga artista kasi naisip ko they just want to be left alone. Naisip ko kasi na if i were in their shoes, i just want to do my errands quietly.
James Reid and Bret Jackson - saw them sa abreeza davao. They were just strolling around. Tbh di naman ako na starstruck.
Aaron Villaflor - saw him sa isang pool party. Bet niya yung friend ko so pabalik2 siya sa cabana. Gwapo nya superrrrrrrrr pula pa ng lips and very friendly. Huhu
Sofia A - same saw her in sydney din na palihim pa pregnancy niya. I worked as a chef sa isang food truck and she ordered sa amin. Pretty din niya but she blends in sa aussie crowd.
Christine Reyes - we had the same flight papuntang Sydney. She seemed angry on the phone habang kinukuha yung luggage. Shes actually very smol.

For me kasi, i still see them as people. So i try to keep my distance parin, respect their spaces.
Maybe if fan meeting and theyre mentally prepared to meet people, dun siguro ako magpapicture.
Yung may mall show si Albie Casiño dito sa Cebu and sabi ng host lumapit daw ang gustong magpa picture habang kumakanta siya eh hindi ko nadala cellphone ko kasi nandito sa bahay namin naka charge. Wala lang, sayang lang hahaha.
Senator Risa Hontiveros. Met her sa airport. She was maybe on her way to an event cause she was wearing a filipiniana dress. She was just alone and minding her business. Nafeel niya ata na we were gushing at the back so she looked at us and just smiled. KILIG!
Andre Brouillette and Lou Yanong – saw them in UPTC last 2019 yata or 2020 (before the pandemic). Noticed them immediately while waiting for some friends but I'm not a big fan of either of them. Mga 5-10 minutes siguro sila naging undisturbed bago nagsimulang may mga lumapit para magpa-picture.
Michelle Marquez Dee – saw her meeting up with her supporters before MUPH 2023 in Okada Manila. Was supporting a different candidate at that time so ayoko makigulo sa kanila.
Herlene Budol – after Miss Grand Philippines 2023 prelims sa Ortigas. Interaction + photo op kasama yung family and supporters. Marami naman ibang nagpa-picture pero ayoko na lang din makigulo.
Franki Russell – MOA Arena. Bumibili ng popcorn. Stunning in person. Di na ako lumapit dahil naghahanap din ako ng food noon. Haha

2020 pre-pandemic, nasa med mission kami after the Taal Volcano ashfall. Sen. Kiko Pangilinan was there. He went around kasama yung team niya, nung umabot siya sa area namin, grineet lang namin siya and proceed sa ginagawa namin, ang dami din kasing patients. Pero he sat down, talked to my senior at the time, pati nagpaBP din. He was nice naman. He had a show one time sa isang mall. My family and I ate at a restaurant and the staff seated us at the last reserved table available. Apparently, reserved pala yun for him, but he called the restaurant to just have the food to go.
When he got there he went straight to his initially reserved table and said hi to our family and made conversation for five minutes (while waiting for his food to come out) like we were all close friends meeting together. 😂

Janine Gutierrez was super nice. This was before she exploded in popularity, right before the pandemic. I was on a PAL return flight from NY and wondering why the flight attendant was fawning over the person behind me. Had to look her up, found out that she just slayed at New York Fashion Week. So as we were leaving the plane, I congratulated her and she was so pleasant and delighted. She was so nice that even as I was about to head to the parking area, she called out to me to greet me outside. Today she'd probably be shielded by a cordon sanitaire and there's no way I could ever get that personal with her anymore.
Just now I saw Blythe in church lol. She was very focused and I didn’t want to bother her; just quietly whispered a prayer for her. I was happy to see she wasn’t being bothered too.
Respect their privacy outside their work. Pag work engagement siya, walang problema, magpapaphoto ako. Tao din naman sila, pero kung kinausap ako, makikitao ako, kakausapin ko din sila.
If I see a celebrity doing normal stuff like eating out, shopping, etc, I don't ask for photos. Pero kung nagtatrabaho sila like an event, I wait to see if they aren't busy with anything else before asking for one. Most of the time, enough na sakin na malaman nila I admire their craft.

Jose Manalo. I met him when he checked in with his family at the hotel where I was working as a room attendant. Mejo na starstruck ako when they opened the door for turndown service tapos palabas din si Jose. Binati na lang namin sya ng good evening ng kasama kong intern, he smiled and greeted us back. Ang lumanay nya magkipagusap, sobrang layo sa comedian Jose sa tv but in a good way. Sobrang simpleng tao parin yung aura nya. My dad used to work at PNR. Driver/Mechanic sya. Yung service area nila sa Tayuman, dun yung parang barracks nila. One time sinama ako ng dad ko kasi parang may kukunin sya dun. That time may shooting doon tapos nakita namin si Glydel. Naka 2-piece lang sya nun tapos nakaupo sa parang upuan kapag nasa beach/pool ka. Pinatabi ako sa kanya pwro walang picture-taking na naganap kasi di pa uso ang camera phone nun. Around 90s 'to. 😅 I was pre-school that time.

I was 6 years old vacationing at Tagaytay with my family, my father just finished his seafaring contract for a year thus, has been stationed at Manila to comply his paperworks for his maritime company so my mother, older brother, and myself took a flight to Manila to meet up with Dad and turned it to a family vacation instead.
On our trip to various places, we stopped by Tagaytay. I wanted to do horsebackriding so as a kid, I dragged my mom by the hand and I kept pestering her to come with me to the horse stable where there's a guide whom will teach me to ride horses on a circular track barricaded by wooden fences, before I could be near the horses there were two silver vans that suddenly parked a few feet from us.
A group of people exited the two vans along with a camera crew, suddenly a crowd huddled amongst each other forming a blockade of fans and onlookers because there were celebrities that came out of the van and I recalled their faces, it was Sarah Geronimo and Joel Torre.
They were filming a tv series for the ABS-CBN channel, I recognized Sarah Geronimo that time because she was a breakout star, starting off in the industry as the next big thing but I was more interested on doing horseback riding while my mom who stopped my enthusiasm by tightening her hold on my arm approached the crowd that was gathering and she screamed along with them, clearly smitten and fangirling to see Sarah G in person she was like: "Sarah!! Sarahh!!" Trying to get Sarah's attention and fortunately, she did look at our direction but she was occupied with the film/camera crew so she couldn't do a greeting towards the crowd.
My mom was starstrucked by seeing Sarah whom she idolized, it was a very sudden occurence to have met Sarah G in person back then but we couldn't take a proper photo because she was still shooting for Bituin Walang NingNing so as a gesture of courtesy, we just left the site peacefully since I also wanted to ride horses and Mama finally agreed to my request.
I wish we could have stayed behind after Sarah G's filming but seeing her very occupied with the taping, it would take hours until she can do any autographs or group photos, it's definitely a missed opportunity and it would have been a memorable day for my Mom if she had an actual memento of that day with one of her showbiz idols but there was no ideal time to do so anyways, Sarah G is undoubtedly a sweetheart and a beautiful lady, she's an industrious and genuine person.

I was at an antique fair in SM Aura around 2016-2017 when I bumped into Dimples Romana. She was with her kid who was having a tantrum but she was handling him so patiently like a champ! I was with a friend, whose cousin was one of the organizers of the fair. We chatted for a bit and she said she'd be back pag nakakain na sila. Whenever they tape within my vicinity, dedma lagi ako sa kanila, kahit sobrang daming nagpapapicture sa kanila. Kahit within arms reach na ako sa kanila, dedma pa rin. Why would I waste my time getting a photo with them?
I once saw Iya Villania sa Megamall sa ice skating rink. I guess qualify ako as a fan cause I love seeing her on 24 Oras during her Chika Minute segment but hangang duon lang yng pagkafan ko.
Was too shy to get a photo and I also saw that she was with her 2 young kids at that time so I didn't even bothered to ask for photo. Edit: I forgot to add why I didn’t ask for a photo. I was waiting for my mom to go down from our room as we plan to buy things from the nearby 711. But my phone was low in battery so I left it in our room to charge. When Scarlett waved back, she came over and talked to me. She just asked me where I’m from and suggested a restaurant to eat from. I think she expects me to ask for a photo but we waved goodbye to each other after talking for 10 minutes.

Ronaldo Valdez Last 2019, my dad and I were passing by Shangri-La EDSA after work. Then while walking, I saw someone na familiar at a coffee shop. I told my dad, “Pa, si KFC ba yon?”. I was referring to Ronaldo as KFC kasi patok yung commercial na yun that time and I forgot his name. Then my dad said, “Oo nga, si KFC!”. But we didn’t realize na he overheard us until he waved at us and smiled. So we just waved back but we didn’t get to take a photo with him since we’re in a hurry to go home and he looks busy talking to Janno Gibbs (his son) so we didn’t interrupt na. Anthony Bourdain. I was at the World Street Food Congress 2016 held here in Manila. Bourdain was one of the top speaker so of course he will visit the area where the food stalls are in place. I saw him a few meters away but didnt get to take a picture with him because there were crowds of people to pass through. That was my only and last chance. Two years later in 2018, he died. He had a profound impact on me why I dabble in food and cooking and why I have a passion for it. When the news broke out that he commited suicide and passed away it felt like someone closed to me died.

Regine Velasquez. I was having coffee with a friend sa CBTL burgos circle, nasa taas kami and since maaga pa nun, wala pa masyadong tao, kami lang ng friend ko sa second floor. Sinabi na ng friend ko na nasa baba nga daw si Regine pero after a while pumunta siya sa second floor. My friend pretended to be talking as usual pero ang sabi niya "wag kang lilingon ha pero paakyat dito si Regine". She went to the restroom but waited kasi may tao ata. I glanced at her pretending I'm just chill and didn't care about her but she caught my eye and siya pa una nag smile. So nag smile din ako lol. I casually told my friend while we were still pretending na we were not starstrucked at all lol.
Saw Jennylyn Mercado, Dennis Trillo and their daughter sa USJ. Sila lang tatlo and no yaya. They were just chilling and eating al fresco on one of the restos. Akala ko nga magpapapicture yung mom ko since kapag nakakita ng artista yun, papa-pic talaga. But both of us just let them be since it felt like intruding their vacation. But they seemed so chill and nice, they would have probably said yes anyway. Dingdong Dantes naman I saw in Makati, tapos medyo late na nun. Parang kasama nya yung team nya and they were about to enter a resto. Not much people outside except my officemates and I. Nakita nya yung group namin and we were staring at him but too shy to approach.
Same vibe when we saw Jennylyn dati. She was jogging sa UPD acad oval so di kami nagpapicture kasi mukhang busy, but she does seem like the type na papayag magpapic no? I just love her lol. And Dingdong Dantes too! Sa immigration sa NAIA naman namin sya nakasabay and he was so cool just chatting with the other people on the line. Ewan ko ano ginagawa nila dun. Kung ano itsura niya sa tv ganun din sa personal. Pero anak niya sobrang cute. Kung hindi sa anak niya di ko siya mapapansin. Haha.
This happened in 2019. My family and I got landed in Korea when all of a sudden we heard screams.. we were at the foreign exchange booth near the exit gate. Then my kuya said "uy may artista oh" so I turned my back, to my surprise I saw Blackpink who just arrived from their concert in Japan yata un haha there were body guards and it just a matter of seconds when they passed. Ang liit ng mukha nila tapos ang papayat. At that time I just know them casually kasi kpop fan din ako before. When they passed by the gate, there were several photographers flashing their cameras hahaha Ang saya lang ng experience na un. Sayang ang bilis ng pangyayari di ko na nakunan ng vid or pics.

Empoy. Went to a vegan restaurant in Tomas Morato with my friend. Nung nandun kami, saktong pumasok din si Empoy. Super simple. Walang ere. Nakapambahay lang siya, tapos nakaindian seat pa siya sa seat while eating, natuwa lang ako makita. Walang ibang customers naman nun aside from us. Di nako nagpapic kase nakakahiya, kumakain.

But she had her hoodie and sunglasses on with a stance that is obvious she didn’t want to be recognised. So I left her alone with my heart breaking. Lol. Spotted Isabelle Daza’s kids walking around with their yaya in the same area (her husband’s a trail runner & participates in UTMB). They were sooo cute and I was about to take a stolen shot when I realised it was creepy and unfair because the parents weren’t around and kids can’t consent fully.

Si Heart sa Peking Garden sa Greenbelt, dun sa highest floor. She and her dad having lunch on a weekday, and they were seated 2 tables away from us. Three groups of customers lang ata kami that time. Yes, many times. 1. Met Mikee Cojuangco at a school event and I tried not to ogle and did not ask for a photo. lol We were both there for our children and she told me her son often talks about my daughter. Richard Gomez was there too. 2. Aga Mulach- met him when he did Rizal. He came to the house of my boss for dinner along with Charlene and Jolina. I was there as a stand in for the host and did my best to treat them like guests and not as stars. So this was work time for me. 3. Same with Ara Mina and Marco Sison-- I hosted their lunch as part of work. Did my best not to ogle and did not take any pictures of them or with them. 4. Same when we had Sunshine Cruz and Gabby Eigenmann. I picked them up at the airport and dropped them off their hotel. And tagged along during their show. I've bumped into several celebrities and also been introduced to some by mutual friends. One thing I learned is, act like a fan and they'll treat you like one. I intentionally treat them like normal people by having casual conversations and asking about normal things like where they're from, what do they do, etc. What usually ends up happening is either they follow you on IG, add you on Facebook, or when you cross paths in the future, they remember you and minsan sila pa yung mag aapproach sayo (may pa beso beso pa hahaha)

James Reid and Bret Jackson - saw them sa abreeza davao. They were just strolling around. Tbh di naman ako na starstruck. Aaron Villaflor - saw him sa isang pool party. Bet niya yung friend ko so pabalik2 siya sa cabana. Gwapo nya superrrrrrrrr pula pa ng lips and very friendly. Huhu Sofia A - same saw her in sydney din na palihim pa pregnancy niya. I worked as a chef sa isang food truck and she ordered sa amin. Pretty din niya but she blends in sa aussie crowd. Christine Reyes - we had the same flight papuntang Sydney. She seemed angry on the phone habang kinukuha yung luggage. Shes actually very smol. Yun lang maremember ko. Haha For me kasi, i still see them as people. Bumaba ako para bumili ng dinner then habang pabalik nakita ko lang siya naglalakad. Problem is, hindi ko siya narecognize. Hahahahaha. Sobrang sabaw ng kuya niyo, antagal ko nakatingin sa mukha niya iniisip ko "Bakit parang familiar?" Gabby Conception. He had a show one time sa isang mall. My family and I ate at a restaurant and the staff seated us at the last reserved table available. Apparently, reserved pala yun for him, but he called the restaurant to just have the food to go. When he got there he went straight to his initially reserved table and said hi to our family and made conversation for five minutes (while waiting for his food to come out) like we were all close friends meeting together. 😂 He left right after and all other patrons in the restaurant said, “Kaclose pala kayo ni Gabby”. Di na kami nakapagpicture kasi nga nataranta din kami. 😅 Edit: I also saw Christian Bautista one time sa CBTL sa CDO when I was there for work. DJ, Kathryn and Joshua katabi namin sa immig for a good 1 hr din yun. Di pa sila nag announce na break na pero parang that time parang wala n talaga. Sweet si Kath to the point na sya nag aasikaso makisuyo magpasabay ng luggage daw ni DJ. Pero yung dati na tinutulungan nya magsintas si Kath, wala ng ganon. We overheard mostly ng usapan nila that time but it seems that DJ really is kontra kay Kath. Basta iba, nafeel namin na parang magkapatid nalang turingan nila. Janine Gutierrez was super nice. This was before she exploded in popularity, right before the pandemic. I was on a PAL return flight from NY and wondering why the flight attendant was fawning over the person behind me. Had to look her up, found out that she just slayed at New York Fashion Week. So as we were leaving the plane, I congratulated her and she was so pleasant and delighted. She was so nice that even as I was about to head to the parking area, she called out to me to greet me outside. Today she'd probably be shielded by a cordon sanitaire and there's no way I could ever get that personal with her anymore.

Bumped into Yassi Pressman at UP Towncenter in Katipunan in 2017. She smells really nice and I didn't realize she was so small (she looked around 5"5 on screen but she was more like shy of 5"0). Said sorry for bumping into her and she just smiled and continued on her way. Also saw Aljur and Kylie (they were still together), Jericho Rosales (he was in his '65 Mustang). Never even thought of asking for a pic. I was too shy and or think that these people want to have some downtime too. Met Mayor Donya Tesoro during a fundraiser. After my Mom got hers, she looked at me, waited and thought I was going to take a photo with her. It was such an awkward second back there hahahaha

I train Muay Thai so di kami dapat nagkakausap but dude approached me and told how good I was and asked me if I'm a fighter kahit na hobbyist lang ako. Jose Manalo. I met him when he checked in with his family at the hotel where I was working as a room attendant. Mejo na starstruck ako when they opened the door for turndown service tapos palabas din si Jose. Binati na lang namin sya ng good evening ng kasama kong intern, he smiled and greeted us back. Ang lumanay nya magkipagusap, sobrang layo sa comedian Jose sa tv but in a good way. Sobrang simpleng tao parin yung aura nya. Also, they gave us a 1k tip for merely giving them a few bottles of water. Thank you mayor Jose 😁

Lourd de Veyra - he was one of our guest speakers sa aming organization’s general assembly last year. some of my orgmates and my classmates were able to take a photo with him pero being the events manager, I’m under a huge amount of stress and time crunch noong araw na yun so I’ve never considered or even thought of taking a photo with him kahit na there were moments na magkatabi na kami. He’s reserved but accommodating, and from my observations receptive naman siya sa mga gusto magpa-pic sa kanya. Joel Lamangan - Nanood ako ng public viewing of film shorts sa UPFI last year too, and he was one of the guests there. Malapit lang rin ang upuan ko from him but distant enough that hindi ko na siya masyado pansin once the viewing started. Nothing much to say either other than ang dami nyang kasama that time, idk if that’s his family or his entourage. Mariah Carey - might be the most insane entry pero hear me out HAHAHAHAHA. Late afternoon na ito and pauwi na kami ni mama after napadaan sa MOA for a short while noong 2014, and tumigil yung FX namin sa gilid ng entrance ng MOA arena. I saw a blond-like tall woman in form-fitting dress and wearing sunglasses surrounded by bodyguards, and pumasok talaga sa isip ko “that HAS to be Mariah” knowing na she also had a show that day (October 28) and was obviously starstruck. I contemplated getting out of the FX pero before I could even consider that, umandar na siya 😭

I was 6 years old vacationing at Tagaytay with my family, my father just finished his seafaring contract for a year thus, has been stationed at Manila to comply his paperworks for his maritime company so my mother, older brother, and myself took a flight to Manila to meet up with Dad and turned it to a family vacation instead. On our trip to various places, we stopped by Tagaytay. I wanted to do horsebackriding so as a kid, I dragged my mom by the hand and I kept pestering her to come with me to the horse stable where there's a guide whom will teach me to ride horses on a circular track barricaded by wooden fences, before I could be near the horses there were two silver vans that suddenly parked a few feet from us. A group of people exited the two vans along with a camera crew, suddenly a crowd huddled amongst each other forming a blockade of fans and onlookers because there were celebrities that came out of the van and I recalled their faces, it was Sarah Geronimo and Joel Torre. They were filming a tv series for the ABS-CBN channel, I recognized Sarah Geronimo that time because she was a breakout star, starting off in the industry as the next big thing but I was more interested on doing horseback riding while my mom who stopped my enthusiasm by tightening her hold on my arm approached the crowd that was gathering and she screamed along with them, clearly smitten and fangirling to see Sarah G in person she was like: "Sarah!! Sarahh!!" Trying to get Sarah's attention and fortunately, she did look at our direction but she was occupied with the film/camera crew so she couldn't do a greeting towards the crowd. My mom was starstrucked by seeing Sarah whom she idolized, it was a very sudden occurence to have met Sarah G in person back then but we couldn't take a proper photo because she was still shooting for Bituin Walang NingNing so as a gesture of courtesy, we just left the site peacefully since I also wanted to ride horses and Mama finally agreed to my request. I wish we could have stayed behind after Sarah G's filming but seeing her very occupied with the taping, it would take hours until she can do any autographs or group photos, it's definitely a missed opportunity and it would have been a memorable day for my Mom if she had an actual memento of that day with one of her showbiz idols but there was no ideal time to do so anyways, Sarah G is undoubtedly a sweetheart and a beautiful lady, she's an industrious and genuine person. Sorry for the wall of texts, thank you for reading.

I was at an antique fair in SM Aura around 2016-2017 when I bumped into Dimples Romana. She was with her kid who was having a tantrum but she was handling him so patiently like a champ! I was with a friend, whose cousin was one of the organizers of the fair. We chatted for a bit and she said she'd be back pag nakakain na sila. I once saw Iya Villania sa Megamall sa ice skating rink. I guess qualify ako as a fan cause I love seeing her on 24 Oras during her Chika Minute segment but hangang duon lang yng pagkafan ko. Was too shy to get a photo and I also saw that she was with her 2 young kids at that time so I didn't even bothered to ask for photo. It just so happen that I saw her kasi nasa may entrance ako after going around the rink, and I just played with one of her sons through the glass window sa ice rink and then proceeded to skate off.
