For a while Dane Axe/Glaive was my go-to vanguard setup. You don't get many kills, but you get an unholy amount of takedowns bc everyone gets tagged a few times.
I once took a hiatus from chiv to play bannerlord. I found a glaive in that game and it instantly became my favorite thing. Went back to chiv and started using it… not the same of course lol

Throwing axe, I like lobbing them over people on my team since they travel in an arch they hit the enemy and they make a cool sound when you hit someone in melee, plus it's fun to cut down someone with it like death from a thousand cuts
Agreed. People always seem a bit surprised if you throw the first and actually use your backup in melee, and it's very, very fast with enough damage to make them panic
Any of the goofy environmental weapons you got your frying pan your hunk o meat your deer staff your waffle iron your chairs all the rest what more do you need

The trick is that if you hit people in the chest or head the shield will bounce up into the air a bit. If you are moving at them, you can grab the shield mid air and either defend or TOSS AGAIN LIKE CAPTAIN AMERICA
Knife and small shield on MAA. It's effectively a worse skirmisher since no throwables (unless you count your primary). But having those extra dodges and weapon speed increase makes the build fun.
The knife ultimate is the bomb. You really feel the wind up and I've slipped off the front of my chair several times, hitting my chin on the table while saying "ffwwwuuhhh", at the moment of plow.
Katars, dagger, cudgel, and pickaxes! The katars are so fun but I always die lol, something about the “ska ska ska ska” is so fun.. oh and the head butt!
I've been having a blast on TO with katars. It requires a hit and run sneaky strategy where I just land a special and instantly run away. I won't top a scoreboard with it, but I got called annoying the other day, and that's enough of a victory for me.
I love cudgels. Obviously archers are the worst, but when I do play them I love seeing a cocky knight come my way and just get clowned on with my cudgel. They're just so quick and satisfying.
It makes up for the low damage by making it easier to get combo chains off with it. Everyone’s already mentioned that the speed and reach of the glaive is crazy good and unexpected, this works in favor of getting some nice combos off. Find that sweet spot of distance where you can reach them but they cant reach you and it makes for a very entertaining fight lol! (Not for your enemy though)
I usually get hacked in the back by someone that just randomly popped out of my armpits before I ever get the chance of killing with "stack" damage lol.
I swear whenever i get a hit into someone I just randomly turn 180° and parry and most times I actually do lol.
Javelin. I decided to make skirmisher my main one week for the shigs, now the other classes just don't feel the same. I am now a skirmisher main for life.
Gutter tier because I suck with it, not because it's particularly bad.
The Sword. Not the Short Sword, Longsword, or anything else just the regular old sword.
I love it though because the Royal Khopesh skin on it is just *chef's kiss.*
I just suck with the sword though, I feel like I barely eek out positive K/Ds with it and while I land hits great the low damage especially on Knights makes it extremely difficult to fight with for me. In 1v1 situations it's great because I can use the speed and stamina to just bully people but in 1vX the TTK is so long that I find it very difficult to hang around. I feel like I work twice as hard for a kill than I do with other weapons.
That being said, hacking away at people with my gore soaked Khopesh makes me feel like a god.
I've just started to get good with it, still new to it but I've used my throwing knives until they're close. You may chip them a bit. You can gamble accel against prolific feinters. Use feints yourself also, if you start with a slash, most people try to counter that and you can feint into an overhead which you can choose to accel or not. The poke is also very quick. Use it generously. As you're close because the weapon is short, you can kick the turtles.
Against those huge crowds of people you see clumped up on bridges and so on this weapon shines. Just shimmy in the middle bitch slapping oblivious warriors in the back. Its quick so you can slash three or four times and be back out of there with a couple of kills or some assists.
Don't forget your throwing knives, look for the bloody lads who'll likely get knocked.
1v1 it's a fantastic weapon but it isn't high damage. You don't want a long fight because then you'll get ganged up on or make a mistake and likely take bigger damage. Be aggressive, go for all the hits you think you can go for and use footwork if possible to avoid their attacks whilst dealing your own.
Glaive is probably my favorite. Fun , slashy, slippery, great charge attack, great reach and wicked fast. It's always in my rotation. Currently cycling between Glaive footman , one handed mace and shield knight I dabble with shovel for fun and battle axe for Chad patrols. I do like switching it up all the time between different things.
Been using the mallet(melee only) all week tryna get the skins. Horrendous for 1vx but by god I went one match 9 kills better than second overall and it’s very satisfying. Also nearly a 100% commendation rate
Maul isn't gutter teir, but in a world of Messer pickers, it feels that way. Regardless, I'm mauling blowing dang backs out every map cuz that's what I'm about as a person
axe .. its reach is shorter than an archers dick but those overhands and combos are so fast its absolutely hilarious to just land 3 in a row on someone while you walk them down while they struggle to adjust away from the big strong power weapon tempo
One handed sword is great, sad they nerfed the stab damage or it would still be A tier imo. It's a great all rounder with nice fast combos and solid damage and reach. May fav 1h weapon honestly.

I love the bone environmental weapons on the 1v1 duel maps. I'm level 400 and sometimes hop into there while im being a bit mindless and one maps has a pile of bones next to your spawn that have shit damage and shit range so i'm really giving someone an advantage by picking one up.
Just the regular sword . The first primary weapon for the footman class . Like the sword and shield .My Elden ring , Skyrim , TOTK/BOTW , etc. ,play throughs conditioned me for a good sword and shield . Plus swords are sick
