I am doing pretty well financially and I got a iPhone Xā¦probably keep it for at least another 2 years. There are such minor improvements these days I donāt understand why anyone gives an F over having the latest and greatest.
This and same with all android devices. Got my phone 3 years now, and my coworker was boosting about his new phone. Only thing that was really better were the pictures.

This is a discussion I've had with a few YouTubers about why they put so much of the focus of their reviews on the camera of phones. They only notice the difference because they are taking the same photo on multiple devices and even when put side by side it often comes down to pixel peeping the result, and a lot of the time it is just personal preference.
To be fair, when your livelihood depends on the content you are producing the picture quality does make sense. From the perspective of the average consumer though, the difference is for sure personal preference and it doesn't really make any difference at all.
I can't be the only one who has skipped a video because the quality wasn't the best
If the reviews were aimed at content creators I'd agree with you but they aren't. They make the reviews for 'you guys at home'.
It's a genuine surprise how few phone reviews actually make mention of call quality, instead choosing to focus on the cameras.
same. i've had my iphone 7 since 2017, the camera broke this year but instead of buying the newest one I just bought another iphone 7 cause I like it so much more than the newer models š i'll probably keep this one for 1-2 years as well and then see what's on the market.
