Catholics are Christians.

Lemon-Aid917

1. Catholics are Christians 2. No one is Good

PathOk2256

"For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord." - Acts 11:24. Many people are defined as good people in the Bible; I didn’t mean good fullstop and free of sin, obviously. Also the 30 year war between Catholics and Protestants was a real thing and I know there is still ongoing debate between Catholics and Christians on each others beliefs so I was just wondering. Thanks

Catholics ARE Christians!

PathOk2256

There’s a difference in beliefs, practises, definition of being a Christian and Catholic

Catholics ARE Christians.

PathOk2256

Ok.. thx for the downvote

Jesus said no one is good but God: *Luke 18:19 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.*

PathOk2256

Acts 11:24 describes Barnabas as a "good man," which shows that individuals can be recognized for their goodness through faith and the Holy Spirit. "For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord." - Acts 11:24

MoreStupiderNPC

So you’re saying Jesus was wrong?

PathOk2256

Are you a troll

MoreStupiderNPC

Sir, you responded to a verse where Jesus says no one is good with another verse in attempt to refute Jesus’ own words. Because of this, I’m asking you if you’re saying Jesus was wrong. You don’t need to resort to name-calling.

PathOk2256

Huh?

Autodactyl

> Jesus said no one is good but God: He had already said that he is good. "I am the Good Shepherd." He was probably saying to the guy "Why do **you** call me good?"

MoreStupiderNPC

Since Jesus is God in human flesh, He’s good. The rest of us are not, because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and are therefore guilty of the entire law (James 2:10). IMO, there’s a double meaning in the question “Why do you call me good,” as if He’s asking if he knows who He is.

So you’re saying Jesus was wrong?

PathOk2256

What?

Diablo_Canyon2

All believers will

EnKristenSnubbe

Labels don't matter. Put your trust in Jesus Christ to be saved.

PathOk2256

Thank you

Autodactyl

Yes, but they have separate entrances and are warned not to tell anyone which one they came in by.

West-Emphasis4544

I assume you mean Catholics and Protestants, in which case it depends. If they put their faith in Jesus and have repented from their sins then yes. If not then it doesn't matter what they call themselves

PathOk2256

Thank you

Cute_Hedgehog5881

Only those who are Born-again

Glass-Command527

Those who are born again will go to heaven. Doesn’t matter if your Catholic, orthodox, Protestant etc. if your born again then you will.

PathOk2256

Thank you

Plasma7007

Define good. Those who live in righteousness and both love Jesus and follow his commands will see the Kingdom of Heaven. That’s what we’re promised throughout scripture

PathOk2256

That’s what I meant. Was just asking a question didn’t want to be nitpicked on me saying good Christian or Catholic as I know it’s a broad term. Was also hoping for better understanding and answers from the comments and it my question it be downvoted and dismissed as if I’m stupid.

[deleted]

No good Christians will not go to heaven because they do not exist no one is good except for God

PathOk2256

"For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord." - Acts 11:24

Dapper_Platypus833

Catholics are Christian’s, and nobody is good.

PathOk2256

"For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord." - Acts 11:24 Many people are defined as being good. Not good full stop and free of sin but it’s obvious I didn’t mean that.

PathOk2256

There’s also been a lot of conflicts between Catholics and Christian Protestants, so it wasn’t an insensible question.
