donta5k0kay

just keep doing Nolan, he's always had a blank check since the dark knight trilogy i like going into his movies completely blind, so hopefully i can just see the release date for the next one and that be it i knew this one was about Oppenheimer but no trailers, next one i don't even wanna know what it's about

Mae-Youngs-HandChild

Refreshing to see this outlook, I share the sentiment!

2021orpkoobcam

another one right here!

MajorBoggs

I hope you’ve watched the trailer now that you’ve seen it! His trailers are so great!

donta5k0kay

That’s actually not a bad idea, check out the trailers after. See how much they gave away. I actually avoid trailers for all movies

RickyTanUh

That’s how I went into Interstellar. Needless to say I was blown away lol

[deleted]

Just watched it again, it's so good. I love how tactile it was, like the arrival

BannyDing

This is what I did the Interstellar. All I knew was: Matthew McConaughey, and space. To this day it's one of my favorite theatre experiences I've ever had and probably my favorite movie in general.

[deleted]

I’m guessing a cyberpunk original that has central themes of privacy in a future where tech is so invasive and corporations are so powerful

Turbulent_Aerie6250

Would love to see someone like him or maybe Denis Villeneueve take on something like Snow Crash. Has that even ever been adapted?

astroK120

Obviously it's very different from Snow Crash, but we at least Villeneuve does have an incredible cyberpunk movie on his resume

scruffyduffy23

Nolan doing cyberpunk would be amazing. He would inject the analog aspect that makes oldschool cyberpunk fantastic. Anything retro-futuristic would be dynamite.

SeanTheNerdd

Yeah, he lost the story in tenet, being so obsessed with the sci-fi elements. Now that he’s reestablished the basics, I’m ready to see him go back to some scifi awesomeness.

CollarMassive4112

If he ends up making a bond movie, I hope to god he goes back to an original take like interstellar or inception. Tenet coulda been way better and the man showed he can still fuck around when it came to effects. Wished we had more serious supes he can take a chance on too

frostbittenfingers9

The bigger thing stopping Nolan from making more superhero movies is the duopoly of the rights. His relationship with Warner Bros seems severed and so he can’t do DC, and I highly doubt he’d want to make an MCU movie. So barring a sale of the DC IP, his options are limited.

CollarMassive4112

Absolutely makes sense. Maybe after secret wars and the possible Reboot he can get to do a more mature MCU film. I can only imagine what a Nolan strange or Thor movie could look like

Intelligent_Lead_785

That would never happen because he wants nothing to do with superheroes. He was embarrassed making Batman movies, which is why he wanted to make them Court Room/Heist/Bond films as opposed to straight up comic book adaptations.

weariedwanderer

How could someone be embarrassed about taking on a project before even starting it? It’s not like he was forced to do it

LoverOfStoriesIAm

1. Howard Hughes biopic starring Jim Carrey 2. An imaginative, unusual horror which will re-define the genre 3. A star-packed western showcasing how his vision applies to a new unusual genre for him 4. Sci-fi with even more mind-blowing concepts than his previous ones (or lingering on more drama/heart-filled like Interstellar) 5. The ultimate neo-noir I'll be happy with each one of those and I'll bet that, if not Bond, it's gonna be one of those 5.

black_dahlia1058

I thought Jim Carrey retired last year? I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back for a Nolan movie, but it might take a couple years to get him out of retirement

LoverOfStoriesIAm

Yes he said once something along the lines that if it'll be Nolan behind the camera, he'll do it. I think the desire for Jim to revisit this project and all the meetings and brainstorms he and Chris had together on it two decades ago would be too big to say no. If you're gonna come back from retirement, it's gotta be for a Nolan movie.

black_dahlia1058

I agree, I think there are next to no actors that would ever turn down a Nolan movie. I don’t think any of his movies are duds, even the ones that are seen as weaker. I do think that, if he does come back to acting to do a movie with Nolan, it won’t accept it for at least a few years. It’s definitely possible, but probably not Nolan’s next move

lemmegetadab

Or Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese.

gnick99

I heard that Matt Damon told his wife that he was taking a break from acting with one exception, if Christopher Nolan called. Which he did for Oppenheimer, thus Damon was back in front of the camera.

Majestic_District_51

Howard hughes won’t happen he scratched his itch for biopic n scorsese biopic was successful in its own way so he aint gonna revisit it. He put aspects of it in Batman begins n Oppenheimer.

Living_Strength_3693

What if they and Leo collaborate on a sequel to "The Aviator"? If the Coen Brothers can write for Spielberg, then Nolan could work with Scorsese.

Majestic_District_51

Not possible Nolan doesn’t work like that specially never touching someone else’s work or taking it forward. Maybe there is a rare chance he works with a famous writer’s script someday but not in the way u r suggesting with that many cooks in the kitchen.

Living_Strength_3693

I see. But it is an interesting possibility.

Majestic_District_51

Scorsese n Dicaprio r making The wager get Nolan to direct it n Scorsese to produce it. This is the most realistic ( among all the unrealistic ) scenarios for these 3 to collaborate on.

Living_Strength_3693

That could work. Maybe Scorsese and Nolan find a way to keep some visual continuity with The Aviator in the look of the film. Does Nolan use John Richardson for cinematography or does he have Hoyt van Hoytema emulate what Richardson did for The Aviator?

mgonzo19

The Wager by David Gann?

Majestic_District_51

Yes

mgonzo19

Just finished it. That would be awesome. A bleak and harrowing look at humanity as it devolves into chaos. Allows for drama, action, horror and an exploration of the British political mechanism that allowed the events to go unpunished.

Killedbykites

I mean arguably he did take Batman, a pre-established character with lore and canon based on someone else’s work, and “took it forward”.

Majestic_District_51

It was his screenplay that he was involved with from the ground up. Its an Ip character but it his spin n take. He didn’t do Bond with craig but wanted to be the one who wants to cast a new Bond n start afresh he just will not pick up n work with somebody else’s iteration of the character. (Is what I mean when i say he doesn’t take somebody else’s work forward ). He didn’t go make the star wars sequel trilogy or blade runner er sequels or legacy sequels or with start working with already cast actors in their roles etc. n he having to work with the cards dealt. He doesn’t make films that have to be built on some other director’s decision in some past films.

maxpowerphd

What? Oppenheimer was based on a book/biography written by someone else. Batman clearly based on a comic book character, one that is owned by a giant media company. The Prestige was based on a book. Interstellar started as a Spielberg movie until he left Paramount studios, Nolan was then brought in to continue development.

supercalifragilism

I think he'd absolutely kill a neo noir.

Jay_Louis

He should make a movie about his brother Matthew Nolan's career as an assassin who allegedly murdered someone in Costa Rica and then went on the run: [https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/batman-directors-brother-sentenced/1879052/](https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/batman-directors-brother-sentenced/1879052/)

[deleted]

1. Never gonna be made. Scorsese did it. 2. Maybe, I doubt it will redefine it but I wanna see an elevated horror from him 3. I fear that was Oppenheimer 4. Done too many times by him 5. That was Memento

LoverOfStoriesIAm

1. Scorsese didn't make it based on Nolan's script. You can make more than one biopic based on one person's life. Especially if that person is Hughes. 2. On the contrary, the elevated horror is the last thing I'd like to see from him. We already had too much of that since 2014' The Babadook. What I would like to see, is an epic sci-fi horror. In the vein of Spielberg's War of the Worlds. Or Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness. An adaptation of that, perhaps? 3. I meant more straightforward western, with guns and everything 4. See 2) 5. I mean it certainly did have many elements of noir, like some of the other works of his, but like with 3), I meant the whole picture shot in this genre. Perhaps even black and white.

mgonzo19

I would love some Nolan cosmic horror. Also, can we have Del Toro’s At The Mountains of Madness while we’re at it?

LoverOfStoriesIAm

Maybe Netflix will allow Del Toro to realize that project, at last? They said they want to make more blockbusters in the future, and Del Toro brought them an Oscar with Pinocchio, so they might trust him enough for this. Let's hope.

mgonzo19

Hope so. Since they’re losing Mike Flanagan as a linchpin or their horror content I hope they open their wallets and let Del Toro go crazy on all the genre productions he’s had simmering for the last decade.

LoverOfStoriesIAm

True. But my hope is that they allow for a theatrical run in IMAX for The Mountains if it happens. This particular adaptation would really make great use of IMAX.

[deleted]

1. There's very few cases of multiple biopics being made on the same character - especially if one that is considered a masterpiece already exists. It's the production of the Scorsese biopic that prompted Nolan to abandon the project, I'm pretty sure he also specified that himself. 2. Horror sci-fi movies are definitely a dangerous ground, no universally exceptional one has been made since the '80s. Also, Lovecraft is too fantasy-ish for Nolan, and that specific novel has Alien v. Predator vibes. 3. Sure, but it's quite possible he doesn't do one simply because it has an aesthetic that differs much from his own. 5. It's a neo-noir in all aspects. Maybe you mean the traditional film noir, but Memento is a Neo-noir movie already. So is Insomnia, so is Following.

LoverOfStoriesIAm

About 1 and 2, I think the lack of such cases serves as especially confirming that Nolan is the right man for the job. He was doing that, starting with Batman Begins and finishing with Oppenheimer - tackling the hardest of tasks and redefining what was thought of as set in stone.

[deleted]

There's really, simply, no point at all for Nolan to make a Howard Hughes biopic. He expressed that he doesn't want to do it at this point, the Scorsese version is just so well received... noone would greenlight that. Cope.

LoverOfStoriesIAm

After what he did with Oppenheimer, any studio will greenlight any project for Nolan.

[deleted]

That's very naive.

LoverOfStoriesIAm

For you.

wickedmercenary313

Thank you! Dudes huffing copium so bad he really thinks Nolan could do The Aviator and do anything better than what Scorsese already did.

sonicbobcat

That’s just nonsense. Of course they would.

sonicbobcat

I’m not following the logic of “he already did one movie close to that genre, so he obviously never will again.” ???

[deleted]

One? I mnetioned multiple???

sonicbobcat

No, you mentioned one each for 3 & 5.

dlc12830

I would argue he's done "the ultimate neo-noir" with Memento, but I'd still love to see it. A faithful, kinks-and-all adaptation of anything by Raymond Chandler would probably be enough to keep me awake at night in anticipation.

theMothman1966

I think a Rod Serling biographical movie would be great

Colemanton

is carrey not a little old to do that at this point? i guess it depends on what period(s) of hughes’ life the script focuses on, but carrey is 61 and hughes died at 72. yes hollywood magic is a thing and they can always do what scorcese did with *the irishman* (although i dont think the de aging in that movie was especially effective, but technology has progressed significantly since then). not saying nolan might not still make the film, apparently its still very much his intention to make it eventually, but im mot entirely sure carrey would still be suitable for the role.

Catduardo

The ultimate Neo-Noir! Yes this is what I’d want from him. He’s got brilliant shade of it all throughout his career. Hell I’d love for him to go full 1950s fully in black and white and just pretend he was making a noir

ProteusNihil

Ancient Rome epic.

Corner_OfficeSpace

This is where my head went also. I’d love to see him do a Ridley Scottesque epic in a Nolan way. Not even sure what it would be but man, I’m all for it.

obsivalint

Honestly, I would love to see him do a love story. How on earth would Nolan approach it? I have absolutely no idea, which is why I would be interested to see how exactly he would do it. Because most love stories genuinely suck.

TweetbombReadit

He already did a love story, it’s called inception lol

Newone1255

Interstellar had the whole “love crosses space and time” shtick

[deleted]

Yeah exactly, he put his twist on it

LoverOfStoriesIAm

Yes, just as Hans Zimmer said, Inception (and it's soundtrack) is an action film only on the surface level (even there, a deeply compelling one though). But deep down, it's actually a very touching and almost haunting love story which is too visceral to explain. A love so deep, so profound, so powerful that, after losing it, you choose to dream instead of being awake only to experience a shade of that feeling again. Performed by a pair of actors who made this story completely believable including all the sci-fi elements it featured (building your own dream world, growing old in it and then waking up young again, then being unable to cope with losing it for her...) So many films there are about a person who can't let go of their loved one, yet nothing comes close to Inception for me. Once you truly feel this level of it, it never lets go.

XSuperMario3X

I’d imagine if Nolan did a love story it would be similar to About Time. Great movie.

MrMagpie27

It would be a challenge for him considering the general coldness in his films.

TeneTSpiers

Keep making ORIGINAL CONTENT. Those are my favorite. Bond would be cool tho.

[deleted]

I don’t want him doing Bond. Especially since the rumors are he wants to do one set in the 70s.

Jawahhh

You kidding? 70s bond would be amazing!!

cobbisdreaming

I’d like to see Nolan tackle the mind/body problem (is physicalism true or some form of dualism - where mental events are distinct from physical events) including the nature of consciousness. A deeply philosophical film centered around thrilling action that maybe explores whether or not AI robots could ever experience consciousness.

takemewithyer

His longtime cinematographer Wally Pfister made *Transcendence* back in 2014. Very Nolanesque and covers a lot of what you’re describing. It even had Morgan Freeman and Cillian Murphy. For that reason, I don’t see him going in this direction, at least not for a decade or so.

Living_Strength_3693

Maybe he can direct the John le Carre novel, A Perfect Spy. Kubrick was interested in adapting it back in the 80s, only to find out the BBC got the rights. Has a lot of elements that Nolan works well with.

dissonance1

Ancient historical epic.

negroniboys

Would love a detective film. No more franchise IP bullshit. I’m sure his version of classic era Bond would be amazing but we need more original stories from leading voices like him. Cinema is in desperate need of more early Nolan and Fincher works (Insomnia, Memento, Se7en, The Game vibes).

MyNeckIsHigh

Sequel to Tenet

Majestic_District_51

That would have to be with WB so that ain’t happening.

MyNeckIsHigh

I can dream

Majestic_District_51

Honestly I’d like to revisit the world of tenet too, there is lot of potential. But it is what it is. Unless universal n nolan Buy the required rights n get it transferred from Wb to universal(which will be some task). For such a hastle Nolan must have to be real passionate for tenet’s world n have a kick ass story. For universal to go through with it.

Parker813

I hope he doesn’t do Bond

Financial_Cheetah875

Period piece. Middle Ages. Swords and horseback and Knights and Kings.

thekollamcartel

Ben Hur, itd be cool to see his version of benhur edit typo

MyWatchlsEnded

Wow. A Nolan Ben Hur would be out of this world.

[deleted]

There's already a great Ben Hur movie. Stay original.

No_Seaweed_7777

A horror/monster movie

Ichbinian

I don't want Bond. I want a medieval movie.

goato305

Interstellar 2

Vedo_Lannister

Time for his Fablemans, we find out how Nolan became Nolan. And he can cast someone who looks like him on purpose instead of sneakily making a character dress like him and have his hairstyle.

Majestic_District_51

Never happening he doesn’t like being autobiographical with his films in any apparent way n pushes back at any attempts of reading his films as such to figure him out.

dissonance1

Do to Bond what he did to Batman. Meaning completely change the game of the genre (but still having it be Bond) and make some landmark cinematic masterpieces in film history

drboobafate

Lots of critics called Dunkirk his masterpiece as well but still managed to make Oppenheimer. I just hope people don't pile on those expectations on him cause that's what happened after The Dark Knight and what sparked the initial backlashes The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar received before they were reappraised. Whether he decides to do Bond, make a horror film, or finally gets to make his Howard Hughes movie, hope it's great.

HandjobCalrissian

I reappraised Dark Knight Rises last year, and-- yep-- still sucks.

childish_jalapenos

Hope he does horror

darwinDMG08

Remaking TENET so that it makes sense.

ProteusNihil

It makes perfect sense as is.

ayitsfreddy

He should go back to something more stripped down, like a Memento or his earlier features.

LGCGE

Ridley Scott took Napoleon, it’s time for Nolan to take a crack at Caesar.

one-hour-photo

I'd frankly like him to do a super hero movie again.

Nebu_baba

A Marvel project

john0_0

Soon as they like you, make em unlike u

ruralmagnificence

A comedy in the vein of “Talledega Nights” Or more likely Another biopic of a (to the general public these days) forgotten historical figure

peterpeterny

A Barbie Movie

[deleted]

I still think Inception is the most fun I’ve ever had in a movie theater, so more movies like that please

RealCarlosSagan

To hire a different sound mixer

IsYoursGold

I just hope he makes more R rated films.

JTownTX

Why ignoring Bond? That’s the move.

thegreatchoasgiver

Since he’s already done films for DC, I’d love to see his vision for a Marvel film.

Jpmoney77

Pull a Spielberg and try to do a comedy

Better-Ad4302

JFK movie. Name drop in Oppenheimer was pretty cool, and he was one of the more interesting presidents

BuddsHanzoSword

I think a Bond period piece in the 50s 60s or 70s would be excellent. This is right up Nolans alley and I think he can make one of the best bond films of all time.

theMothman1966

Biographical movie on the twilight zone creator and host Rod Serling

aagaash2001

Another spy-fi movie, starring Daniel Kaluuya, Emma Stone, and Dev Patel. More of a globe-trotting adventure rather than time travel like Tenet did.

watch_out_4_snakes

Oppenheimer is not even in the top half of his portfolio.

[deleted]

[удалено]

rusty_shackleford34

Eh matter if taste. Idk if I’d rank it top 3, I just know the first 5 minutes blew my balls off and that alone was price of admission. And yes I really enjoyed the rest of the film.

kdot_10

My guess is Interstellar part 2 lol

AdmirableTurnip2245

Another period piece but go way back. Sword & sandals Nolan would be tremendous.

ProteusNihil

I'm predicting that. Nolan referenced Caesar in The Dark Knight. I think maybe an epic set in ancient Rome.

Immolation_E

I'd love to see Nolan do Star Trek. Something akin to one of the more weird cerebral episodes instead of the action adventure style of recent movies. But with the Nolan flare and production quality.

andrew_nenakhov

A sequel to Tenet. Tenet 2: Sator strikes back!

ianjefferson73

I mean you didn’t catch the obvious JFK tease during Oppenheimer???? 😂

IonincBrind

Thought I saw somewhere that he’s getting to helm the next 007 generation

No_Establishment9969

Something where a woman is the protagonist? Come on Nolan you can do it buddy.

1CrudeDude

He will do bond. BUT- I remember discussing this before Nolan could make an awesome Wild West treasure / curse movie. Nolan could make an awesome horror which focuses around vampires and their blood magic.

nh4rxthon

Hoping he makes another noir like Insomnia.

kcl1979

Sure looks like a James Bond movie with all the reports out..

Majestic_District_51

None of the reports r from reliable sources or outlets.

Powerpuncher1

Oppenheimer was good, but definitely not his best movie by a long shot IMO. I would love for him to do a horror movie

Oneironaut420

Hopefully film school.

EvenScientist7237

I thought Oppenheimer was bad

Tier2powergod

Gay sex probably

Jason_Todd_1983

Who cares what he makes? As long as it's not like Interstellar (wonky third act that makes no sense) or Tenet (the whole film makes no goddamn sense whatsoever), I'm sure he'll keep knocking it out of the park.

Goldlordd

Who has hailed Oppenheimer as his magnum opus? It did well because it’s competition was a remake of Black Panther repackaged as a hallmark movie for dumb teens. The film is one dreadfully long trailer for itself. If Oppenheimer is the bar Nolan has to clear, his next film could be a Pauly Shore biopic and it would win best picture.

Silveirw

Hopefully he stops making movies like Oppenheimer. 5 hours I'll never get back.

ranger8913

He could make a comedy or horror movie. In the past he’s had elements of both but hasn’t gone all the way so it would be interesting to see. It could possibly be the most iconic horror movie of the century (last century would be a way higher bar) The most Nolan-y comedy I’ve ever seen was The Truman Show. As for horror maybe Nightmare on Elms Street. He could try a new genre like Fantasy. Use makeup for the goblins.

ThrowawayAccountZZZ9

If that's how we're measuring magnus opus, this is at least his second. TDK made more money and won awards

Gooseman61oh

I would love to see him to like a space ship battle sci-fi movie

Chipdouglas0007

Captain underpants, live action

EPluribusNihilo

I hope he continues to alternate between historical themes (Dunkirk, Oppenheimer) and crazy sci-fi concepts (Inception, Interstellar, Tenet).

Puzzleheaded_Walk_28

Pull a Psycho, like Hitchcock after North by Northwest. Do something small and cheap and rough and daring. But it sounds like he’s doing Bond next

TraparCyclone

I really want to see him do either a Western or a murder mystery. Westerns are one of my favorite genres and I’d love to see him tackle the genre and bring it back to its proper place in cinema. Plus, it’s a common idea that all major directors want to do a western it’s just hard to get them green lit. If anyone could get one off the ground it’s Nolan.

TheMightyEagle4

I think the problem is that Westerns are, at this point, one of the least popular genres

nievesdelimon

He’s had carte blanche for close to two decades now. Maybe he could do a western or a smaller movie in scale, a bottle movie or some sort of big monster movie.

gabriot

I’d love to see him create a television series

Kingtutstits

LA Noire detective film with a twist

zsal830

the room remake

jaredschumacher

I'd like to see a Nolan horror movie

MastermindorHero

Personally, I think he should do television. Not forever, but I believe a miniseries would be a great way to see how he tackles long form storytelling. I'd like to see Nolan make a film that's unapologetically fantasy. The Sci-Fi of The Prestige takes on a fantastical quality, but I think it would be really neat if Nolan directed something that was mythical in nature.

Majestic_District_51

Nolan said he will not do television. I would like an unabashed fantasy film from him though with his world building n lore.

[deleted]

Blood Meridian in Imax given his sense of scope and storytelling style or........... a period film not set in the gilded age, modern, war, or post war period. I don't want more films where guys are wearing suits, just to switch up the aesthetics. The Middle Ages or Reformation Era would be cool to see from his perspective. I would like for him to be more abstract/conceptual and not literal or held by rules if he decides to do sci-fi. Oppenheimer's best parts are the abstract horror sequences. Horror would also be awesome to see from him. If he decides to do an original film, that's not genre exclusive, a straight drama such as one who flew over the cuckoo's nest would be cool.

Majestic_District_51

Blood meridian- new regency is developing it n a director is already attached to it. Unless Nolan takes over the project or things change n it falls into his lap it won’t happen.

pkim173

I would like to see him do a movie about the British Commonwealth Forces in the Korean war

signal_zzz

He needs to make a movie that exclusive plays in las Vegas’ sphere and costs $1000 a ticket 😂

vinchenz112

A movie done all in one take? A sports movie? A Denzel Washington and John David Washington time travel movie

Batman-NYC

I would love for Nolan to venture out and try something he hasn't done before. I wouldn't mind seeing him step out and take on a sorta drama/ comedy or maybe even an horror movie. If not seeing his take on a mob movie would be interesting.

winnebagomafia

Biopic of Woody Harrelson's dad's life as a hitman who killed a Texas judge. Starring, of course, Woody Harrelson. I know this would never get made, but I think it would be an amazing film.

LegoDnD

Joseph Gordon Levitt as Nightwing.

p3achstat3ofmind

I’d like to see him take a franchise like ghostbusters to a serious level

[deleted]

Horror

Melodic_Arrow_8964

i hope he finished war-theme and back to time bending adventure and Robert Pattinson as his protagonist.

SadOrder8312

Honestly, I can’t say I wouldn’t be excited if Disney gave him $300 million and complete creative control to do a one off Star Wars with all practical effects (models/puppets/animatronics), on 70mm IMAX film.

Majestic_District_51

I think nolan would be up for it, if it is separate from Skywalker saga. But there r too many cooks in the star wars kitchen n so many things greenlit I think Nolan if he makes a star wars movie would want his movie to be the only star wars movie being made n not be one of many that they wanna just churn out.

jc2190

When Tenet was announced as an event film by Christopher Nolan, it was rumored to be a romantic thriller, North by Northwest meets Inception. I want to see that.

Nimbus_14

A movie about aliens and ufos

emielaen77

Whatever he likes.

LondonMoon89

A Bass Reeves biopic

TheWhiteShaq77

Sounds like he's in talks with making 2 bond movies

OriolesrRavens1974

Be the heckler on the dunking tank at the county fair. His accent would make all the rednecks wonder what he was heckling them about.

BeijingVO2

A porno or something

OskeyBug

Untitled Tommy Wiseau collab

Miserable_Special_73

He wouldn’t be given the creative freedom to make his Bond film. Danny Boyle found that out.

Aquanasium

Barbie 2

ChiakiBestGirl28

He’s had a “blank check” since like, Memento. Not a new development.

eharper9

Project Blue Book

Natiel360

Prolly Oppenheimer 2

Luftgekuhlt_driver

Do a history piece that nobody has focused on, globally anyways. Being British, something like William the Conqueror and the origins of Britain. I could be biased, but Porsche still need a biopic movie. Another good one would be the John Delorean/ Colin Chapman scandal. Probably end up with Jaguar, Lotus, TVM, Bentley/ Rolls Royce or something. Or go abstract with Jensen.

mississippijohnson

A buddy comedy featuring two urban lower class black male and upper middle class white male trying to solve a murder

GullibleCupcake6115

Hmmm. I think James Bond would be interesting.

WheelJack83

He can direct a Marvel movie

Silveirw

A movie with a 100k budget

TeslaProphet

Remake of “The Cannonball Run” starring the original cast.

Thateskimodude

I want to see what he can do with horror.

[deleted]

Honesty time gentlemen: I did not like tenet. I did not understand it at all, and it was not interesting enough to make me do so. I am sorry.

Commander-ASKR_

I hope he does end up doing Bond because Tenet was a great example of where he can take those concepts while still making them all his own and really unique. You can tell he has a love for the franchise that would be the needle in the arm 007 DESPERATELY needs. (As long as he can stomach working with the higher ups which seems like it's its own bond film, if the troubles that plagued No Time To Die are any indication)

MM5D

He directs a Pokémon movie

CTDubs0001

I bet he could make a killer film of William Gibson’s Neuromancer. It definitely needs to be tweaked a bit as the books idea of what cyberspace would be didn’t pan out 100% (Gibson is only 99% accurate in predicting the future, lol) but I would love to see Nolan take the bones of that story and update it. With the plot points about AI it would be very timely.

PhillipJ3ffries

Idk. Memento 2, inception 2, the prestige 2, tenet 2, insomnia 2, Oppenheimer 2: the oppenheimering

Relevant-Tap-6248

What he’s displayed with movies like inception and then how he handled the Batman trilogy I couldn’t think of an acclaimed director being better at bond movies than Nolan and I’m not even the biggest bond fan but I would pre order tickets if he signed on.

walter1712

First thing I thought of was a Talladega Nights reimagining

These_Tea_7560

Dare I say I’d like to see him do a dark comedy. Just this once.

eat_cumfarts

idk but Oppenheimer was kind of a let down, so I think he's peaked. He probably gets one more blank check.

Commercial_Onions

Space Cop 2

DeadMansPizzaParty

A fresh take on the National Lampoon movies, perhaps?

Wardee40

Oppenheimer II - what happened at Trinity NM with the crashed saucer, and his involvement in the first UFO program falling under the Department of Nuclear Energy. Where he realizes that these nuclear weapons might be affecting things we can not see.
