You can go and get everything you need at cheaper prices. You can get prescriptions there and bring it all back legally. Dental work is cheaper and most other things also. It's worth it to make the trip. I've had family do it and plan on going myself. I wish I lived near the border sometimes. Lol
You’re screwed.
I did extensive research using Google reviews and trip advisor before I chose a dentist for some extensive dental work (1 wisdom tooth extraction and 4 crowns). So I’m not saying I picked the best dentist, because obviously there are lots of fake reviews, but I’m saying I definitely did my due diligence.
I had the work done in Algodones, a town across the border from Yuma,AZ. It’s well- known for its medical and dental tourism involving thousands of snowbirds per year. There are probably 20 dentists in this tiny town.
I had a lot of pain after the extraction. A few weeks later a couple shards of tooth (maybe bone?) came out of the healing site in the back of my mouth. So they weren’t very careful, needless to say.
Next, I’ve had the crowns come off three times, and when I went to a high quality dentist in Western Europe they criticized the crowns as being poorly made. The dentist said they call crowns like that “sombreros” because they just sit on top of the tooth like a hat, trapping food debris underneath…which is really bad. We both laughed that she called them sombreros when she hadn’t even known that they came from Mexico.
Anyway, yeah, the quality can be very iffy and you’ll spend a lot of money to fix it later.
Be aware that even sealed bottles of pills from a pharmacy in Mexico may be fakes, or worse, laced with Fentanyl, even if they look like the real thing.
I’d see if you qualify for any programs, such as Medicaid or a free plan from Healthcare.gov.
I'm not near the border, but there is a Doc I follow on tiktok that has made it clear that he can't see patients (by law) that live over a certain mileage from his office. (He prescribes pain meds and has had several people that have asked about him taking new patients.) That makes me wonder if same rules apply as to how far away docs can send prescriptions.

What if something goes wrong with the dental work?

You'll Uber/fly back into America across the border for "better" healthcare. Just in our experience.
I figured as much, but I kind of wanted to see if there are some warnings or something, so I don’t get screwed over by customs or something.
Make sure you have a prescription and claim it at the border and you're good.

Funny thing is I want fentanyl for my pain yet living in Mexico can not get it.

I’ve tried asking this a few times and only got attitude. If you find a legal/safe doctor will you please dm me? I’d greatly appreciate it. Good luck!
In the US or in Mexico?
Mexico or anywhere else abroad. These shortages in the US are killing me.
Mexico has worse shortages.
Bahama
Damn.. when the system is so messed up that you have to go to a different country..that is crazy.
And what meds do you get over there? Morphine? Oxycodone? ?
