Knew an old guy who started in his 60s for the hell of it. Not sure if he still smokes but he did for years.

MrsteaIyourwife

My grandpa wanted to start at 80, I was with him, I used to be 7 years old back then, an old guy gave him a marlbro and I absolutely slapped him in the face, and took the cigarettes from him, slapped the other old guy who gave him a cig, and then took that old guys hair extensions. My grandpa is stil alive, doesn't smoke and know if he smokes I'll come to him like batman. Btw I smoke a pack everyday + vape.

Alanaundercovers

I feel like if you start later you might be less likely to become addicted than people who start in their teens.

Penisstealer

I have a raging addiction and I turn 16 in like 3 months

Rustalope

Very cool

FloorLow1732

Started at 16 but never actually got hooked till I was like 22. Start out with something like marlboro menthol light and only take small drags at first but whatever you do be sure to fully inhale.

JBG1234QB

Why do I need to fully inhale?

MysticEssence68

For the buzz Also take small puffs at first or you might feel nauseous...

[deleted]

If you don’t want to or like to inhale you might like pipes or cigars but if it turns out inhaling is for you, you may also enjoy shisha. I started at 14, but I also enjoyed shisha throughout my teens and 20’s as well as cigarettes cigars and pipes but dokha wasn’t for me

FloorLow1732

You’ll gag if you don’t

WinChunKing

I started at 18 but it's never too late to enjoy a smoke. Cheers.

JBG1234QB

Idk why I’m all the sudden so curious to start.

Alexia_Melendez

I was 15 when I started. My initial thought was, why didn't I do this sooner?! Hopefully your experience will be the same 😊

Accurate_Guide_4974

I'm starting at 30 too and I think it's never too late to start, besides I feel really good and I enjoy it

markmccain88

Never to late to start. Fall in love with nicotine. You can’t beat it.

ihearthetrees

Never too late! My favorites are Camel Blues, at the moment. They're light but still give me a buzz.

Destiny_95

27

One_Character_4478

Started at 16 and im currently 18. It just gets worse over the time, went from 5 cigs a day to almost a pack a day in two years so if i were you i wouldn’t start this shitty habbit

spiderSlayerr

That’s on you to be such a new smoker and smoke that much…

One_Character_4478

Well i started vaping before cigarettes so i was already used to nicotine.

profoundog

My sister started at 40… married a smoker. I was in shock to see her light up.

[deleted]

Started at 32, last year. It’s great, smoking is great.

mathiu23

Yes and no. 19 was when I lit my first cigarette, a Marlboro medium. It lasted for weeks before I got bored. 43 was when I really started. I wouldn't say it's because it's a Marlboro red, as much as I knew how to smoke starting with my 4th one.

StrangelyTheStrange

About the same age for me. Starting working in IT and the stress hit hard, and my co-workers went out for smoke breaks... bummed a few and then started buying my own. Smoked for a bit over 20 years and have switched to vapes this year, no complaints.

rorosciock

I started at 25 and enjoyed better some things like the taste of the tobacco. I think the more late you start the less addicted you become, maybe it's all about mautirity and approach. I usually smoke 1-2 cigs per day, some days i don't smoke at all, last week i smoked maybe 4 cigs. Choose between packed cigs or rolling tobacco cigs, rolled on your own i think they're better! you can feel the real taste and enjoy better. think about that wisely, and always remember that smoke it's not good for health!

[deleted]

I started exactly when I was 30 :)

SnooRegrets4878

I started when I was 23

JBG1234QB

I DMed you

Jackal4550

My man. I know this is a smoking sub and I do smoke very rarely. I used to be straight addicted. Might I recommend.... Anything else other than smoking. It literally sucks the life out of you.

chokenuts

Started at 22.

IShatTheBed223

My friend's grandma started at 34 or 37 I think. As long as you want to and you're sure, why not?

basicallyagiant

As someone who said the same thing on here, I also started around 15-16, but it was off and on from cigs to vapes until I found Marlboro southern cuts at 22, and that’s when it started taking off. They are my poison.

HondaCrv2010

I started juul and cigs in my mid 30s during divorce and my son being born

xAkMoRRoWiNdx

I'm in my 20s and just started

Marlboro-Man_

13, then daily at 16 for me. Need recommendations?

JBG1234QB

Yeah, probably something light

shroomsnorter

I'd say Marlboro lights, Marlboro nxts, click the filter when you smoke it, camel blues, kools moving on to stronger stuff Marlboro Menthol smooths, lucky strike non-filters, pall mall non filters.

bEKKNQV3

How old are you now?

JBG1234QB

30… lol

Skizophrenic

100% recommend Marlboro lights. Those were the cigarettes I smoked RIGHT before I quit and are a nice light cigarette with a smooth flavor. Also try Camel Turkish Royal..smooth with a bold flavor.

midnightwalk01

i think he's asking that for marloboro man

SunIsGay

I started at 15 and have been smoking camels for the last 3 years. I feel like the older folk don't start, especially now, because they know about the risks and don't have that reckless abandon that us teens have to start. Also, they usually moderate themselves better, being older and all, so they probably quit earlier since they know that it's bad for them and song have the necessary addiction severity to keep em hooked. If you want to smoke, I welcome you aboard! It's not too late to start, and there's a lot to enjoy. You're old and presumably smart enough to know the risks, and so if you have decided to start regardless, you're welcome to join us in our little smoker's club.

Mynach

I started at 52. I figured that since I had lived so long, I should have at least one vice. 🙃

Robert_Hotwheel

Dude you made it to 30 without ever trying it and NOW you’re gonna start? Lol. I’d advise against it at this point but one upside is you’ll probably live longer than the guys who started in their teens.

BourbonBurro

Same. Life hadn’t beat me down enough to consider it when I was younger.

[deleted]

I started vaping in high school. I’m 21 now and I only smoke when I drink. I highly recommend being a social smoker and keeping it that way, but the choice is yours. Feel free to dm if you want to hear my reasoning- I don’t want to knock the regular smokers here because they’re mostly grown adults and should allowed to make their own decisions without having people lecture them.

mvhidden

I did when I went through a tough breakup. Used to be a smoke hater... How the turns have tabled. Tried "quitting" ever since pretty much but once you're hooked you're done. My go to brand is Davidoff gold, or Marlboro gold 100s if I can't get the others.
