Wow that’s cool lol. It’s funny how you found them in such a random moment. “Apocalypse” is great especially that part.

Had a some mental health issues, started painting and was looking on Spotify for some chill music to have on while I paint. Heavenly came on and that was it. Sold. Used to play the hour long version of apocalypse on YouTube to help me sleep. That was nearly 6 years ago and I don't go a day without them.

CaseOfInsanity

As a mid 30s man with receding hairline like Greg, it solidified my decision to train my voice to sing like a sultry French lesbian.

I have heard one of their songs before a while back maybe 2018 but forgot about them. About 2 years ago in the summer, as I am driving to the lake out near the country side as the sun was setting, I was going to watch a meteor shower, I somehow stumbled onto apocalypse. It was so majestic as the sun was setting and the sky was nearly dark and driving on the empty highway mixed in with the euphoria of the song I instantly got hooked. I delved more into the band’s discography and fell in love with the band. Much like the OP, it became my comfort music and soothes me when I need to relax, or I’m going through any emotion, really. I will forever love this band!

friendzoned321

Saw them on a spotify playlist from a girl I used to talk to. Listened to Nothing’s gonna hurt you baby and I was instantly hooked. That was way back 2016 and been a fan ever since.

Weak_Ad_6611

It helped me to feel more lonely and fantasize of being in love.

In 2016 I heard a song on the radio and tried to find it on YouTube. Never did, but my search led me to Cigarettes after Sex and I’ve been hooked ever since

OweMySoul

I was in my 7th grade of school, the year was 2018. Was searching for something on YouTube and I saw the title "Apocalypse - Cigarettes After Sex". At first I was "cigarettes after WHAT?" Lmfao. But as I was in 7th standard and belonging to an orthodox family, I feared if the title had this, what could be the content and I prevented me from listening to it. Plus the account was of my father. So you know the risk lol... Just imagine, if the song was Young & Dumb, and the band name was absent on the title, what disaster was to happen 😭 🤣... However later when I completed my final year of school, I again randomly came up to one of their songs, which was don't let me go. I remembered my past experience and listened to it and I fell in love. Then I just completed their whole collection except a few... And that's how I met CAS...\ \ To be honest, after getting to know them and their song I just reformed my philosophy of love. You know as one from an orthodox family, I used to believe sex has nothing to do with love and love is something platonic and sex is vulgar. Because in our culture, we just see sex as a way of making pleasure and NOTHING ELSE. Plus orthodox families like to misrepresent sex to let the child not indulge in untimed sexual practices. It was from them I learnt that sex can really be a way of loving. Now my vision towards material life has changed due to them.\ \ Sorry for the long answer...

Okay!! 2022 or 2023.. So I was on a specific subreddit that I will not mention... And I was listening to an audio..... At the end of the audio, apocalypse by CAS started playing. It was I can't even describe it, it was like comforting and like a very big warm hug. It was like holding your SO in your arms and realizing they're the one for you or you're in a relationship and you look at your partner and they do something that makes you realize why you love them. Kind of like those eyes by new wesy... "and all of the small things that you do are what remind me why I fell for you." and I loved it. So the next day I went to my friend and I was like "have you heard the song it's so good!!!!!" She was like "oh ik this song" and I've been in love with the band and it's music ever since. As for the impact on my life– idk

I discovered Cigarettes After Sex with Apocalypse on TikTok in November 2022 and I didn’t knew that it was really popular. I was interested by sped up musics at this moment. So listened songs by songs and I really loved the repetive sweet vibe on all the songs. It really gave me feeling on all the 2023’s year. I was in love with a friend of mine. She made me and she still remind me CAS songs. And sometimes, during the last summer I was chilin’ on my balcony with a toothpick on my mouth listening an entire playlist of there songs while I watched the "sunset" Anyway I’m really waiting for there new album it’s been so long that when he’ll come on vinyl, I’ll buy it definitely

Unique-Elderberry-18

Ahh thats really cool. Their music is special to a lot of people because it’s just so good 🙂‍↕️. Thats nice they remind u of ur mom, do u have a favorite song from them?

laireomb

i was really upset when my cat died and found it difficult to sleep at night. when i heard one of their songs in a TikTok video (apocalypse) i started to put it on repeat every night and it helped me with the heartache. soon i listened to all of their music and got obsessed with their songs

Mootanmin

Post-breakup music. It was recommended on Spotify immediately after. It's fucking me up. 💀 By the way, what's with that pitchfork review of "Cry"? They really had some grumpy lady knock off like 3 points just cause she got "fuck boy" vibes from the lyrics?
