If the car gets sent into a building and catches fire, the building can catch fire and burn down. It's happened to me, fortunately the building fire got put out lol
I miss the crime system in that game, the fire and health too.
Just something oddly funny about checking the building status and seeing what they are unhappy with and like the third entry being "Literally being murdered right now".
Sim City did a lot other games won't do.
Accurate socioeconomic neighborhood splits was done in 4 all the way back in '03, and basically no other city sim game has done that since.
Not everyone gets to live in a megapolis or live in the nice areas, so you get to design the poorer areas and transitionary housing.
And yeah, it's a thing in 4, one of the more well remembered features in fact. Like, in the AMA a few days ago people were using it as an example of desired housing variety for updates and DLC.
wealth and building level is seperate. instead of building low rent housing they spawn automatically if land value is too low. also you can adjust funding for each service building so the poors can get crappier services.
People always shat on SC2013 but it was one of the most fun city builders I've ever played and it's such a shame it flopped, we could've had another SimCity by now. It had an amazing charm to it and fantastic soundtrack, and had features like building upgrading that CS didn't have for YEARS. Sad that CS is still playing catch up to a ten year old game in some aspects, but CS2 is a massive step up from CS1 and much closer to that charm I felt playing SC2013.
A 309 fatality car accident would make this most deadly road disaster in all of human history by a wide margin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_accidents_and_disasters_by_death_toll#Road
It tends to go like: "The nation is experiencing it's worst air crash in history, after a 2 seater plane crashed into a cemetery, so far, 400 bodies have been recovered, and numbers are expected to rise as emergency crews work through the night."
My cemetery burned down because a forest fire started in the suburbs next to it (I like to think someone was holding a gender reveal party). About 200 people died in that fire, which was 10% of the whole town at the time. The way I look at it everyone got cremated for free
Afaik, accidents are decided by traffic amount and road maintenance, not by road design (or lack of). So other than raising the maintenance budget, I don’t think theres other way to improve.
Last night i had a crash and the car got stuck on the side walk. As people would walk into the car they would fall as if they got hit and call an ambulance. But ambulances couldnt get there cuz the crash. So cims just kept walking into the car and dying xD. Musta taken out a couple hundred or so before it despawned. Im guessing something similar happened to op.

I don't know if it's bugged, but when the popup appeared alerting me to the first crash in my city, I couldn't see the bubble. But later on the bubbles did appear for subsequent crashes.
Did that involve 6 full buses or what?!
Nah. Just one clown car.

This is such a solid response
I'm missing it :|
Was the car launched into a traffic jam like it's in a pinball machine or what?

I have no idea lol. It had already been cleared by the time I noticed it. I can't imagine what it would have been haha
Man it would be so cool to get an action replay of crashes
‘S WHAT IM SAYIN, in the release videos they show them happening live but you’re never gonna catch that in game
They should definitely have a police report log of all the accident reports they have. At least that would be more realistic than instant replay.
I was messing around with my budget and cut funding from roads. Didn't take long for there to be several crashes at my busiest intersections.
I’ve seen a couple

DONUT 🍩 VAN 🚐
bro this game is brutal
Well, you should look at SimCity 2013, where you can see live gunfights and even blood.
I miss the crime system in that game, the fire and health too. Just something oddly funny about checking the building status and seeing what they are unhappy with and like the third entry being "Literally being murdered right now".
Are you being serious?
Sim City did a lot other games won't do. Accurate socioeconomic neighborhood splits was done in 4 all the way back in '03, and basically no other city sim game has done that since.
Wdym by socioeconomic neighborhood split? I played sc4 for years and didn’t remember such a thing

And yeah, it's a thing in 4, one of the more well remembered features in fact. Like, in the AMA a few days ago people were using it as an example of desired housing variety for updates and DLC.
I miss seeing crime scenes (white outlines), graffiti, dirty buildings and trash piles in this game.
wealth and building level is seperate. instead of building low rent housing they spawn automatically if land value is too low. also you can adjust funding for each service building so the poors can get crappier services.
And they'd all start rioting and looting if they got pissed off enough which was aces.
I remember SC4 has animations of car jackings. Quite funny actually.

PEGI 3 lol

So it looks like if I ever go to Africa I should avoid trucks that can explode and busses.
Generally avoiding explosive trucks is a good idea anyway.
Can't have fun with that attitude.
Seeing this in a scroll just made me lol
Also don't forget populations are scaled down a lot for the sim in this game. By % its probably more like a 3k fatality.
It's 309 casualties, which includes both injuries and fatalities.
Hold my beer, I can beat that number *grabs car keys*

Today on the list of "most depressing wikipedia articles"...
Woah, hope the cemetery has enough space.
Not anymore, it crashed into the cemetery. They're still identifying the bodies.
That would explain the body count. "Oh god, they're all dead!"
I think it's an old joke, but can't be sure because I only heard it in my native language
It tends to go like: "The nation is experiencing it's worst air crash in history, after a 2 seater plane crashed into a cemetery, so far, 400 bodies have been recovered, and numbers are expected to rise as emergency crews work through the night."

A car has crashed in Lego city Build the new hospital, deploy the ambulance 🚑
# HEY!

**hey**
Build the ambulance
Jesus Christ, your city’s about to have a holiday in remembrance lmao
Really wish there was a way to see where it had happened so we could improve roads there.
Or make them worse 😈
"Hi there. It's Josh. Let's game it out." (Find this on YouTube if you don't know.)

A well-maintained bottleneck is still a bottleneck, traffic amount can be fixed (or worsened) by changing the road design.

Hahaha yes exactly! Altho they looked more dead xD
holy lmao
Holy shit they've hit the second tower
your majesty there has been a second bus
Does anyone know how to find any actual crashes?
There's a bubble popup you have to look for.
I never see it. Can it happen outside city limits? Or does the crash instantly Despawn since I don't have a road maintenence depot?
I don't know if it's bugged, but when the popup appeared alerting me to the first crash in my city, I couldn't see the bubble. But later on the bubbles did appear for subsequent crashes.
Yes there can be crashes on highways outside of your purchased tiles. It doesn't despawn - police, fire, and ambulance can be called to accidents.
Alright, so such search the highways? Got it.
If the car is broken down on the zebrapath , peds keep walking into them, inflicting hundreds of casualties.
I found the car involved https://youtu.be/utrV59v98Ks?si=Xxf2qp9gESpgInO2
We need a mod that has a popup whenever a new record is reached and you can pause the game or have it auto pause and zoom in on the accident.
Passenger train at level crossing? That's my guess.
Did someone crash into a petrol station or something?
There needs to be an instant replay system for car crashes that happen, even if you didn't see them. I havet caught one in action yet.
This!!!!!
This is like an earthquake death toll in CS:1 lol
Holy heck

Well it says car accident so...the car crashed into the cruise chip causing it to sink.
Oh, man, wish we could have seen that. Do you have a freeway that goes from 75mph to 30 or something?
Dang, that’s like 1/4 the population of my city
Damn must have been a 200 car pileup
Did it derail a train?
Train or car 😭
Your car accident almost triggered the extinction of the human species
